About this audiobook
Nikki Maxwell develops a sudden interest in student journalism that may or may not (okay, definitely does) have to do with the fact that mean girl MacKenzie has started writing a gossip column. So Nikki joins the school newspaper staff—and ends up as an advice columnist! It’s fun at first, answering other kids’ letters. But when Miss Know-It-All’s inbox is suddenly overflowing with pleas for guidance, Nikki feels in need of some help herself!
Rachel Renee Russell
Rachel Renee Russell is a lawyer who prefers writing children's books to legal briefs (mainly because books are a lot more fun and pyjamas and bunny slippers aren't allowed in court). She has raised two daughters and lived to tell about it. Rachel lives in northern Virginia with a spoiled pet Yorkie who terrorises her daily by climing on top of her computer and pelting her with stuffed animals while she writes. And, yes, Rachel considers herself a total Dork.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Nikki Maxwell's New Year prank gets way out of hand when the victim, MacKenzie Hollister, who also happens to be Nikki's enemy, threatens to inform the principal of the event and get Nikki and her friends suspended. Nikki has to keep an eye on her and the only way is to join the school newspaper, which MacKenzie is a part of. Nikki is assigned her own advice column that flourishes within her school. Throughout the book, Nikki deals with multiple conflicts that include answering more than a hundred advice letters and shopping for a very important birthday present. Life takes poor Nikki for a bumpy ride; she hopes everything will level out in the end. Tales from a Not-So-Smart Miss Know-It-All by Rachel Renee Russell is the fifth book in the Dork Diaries series. It made me laugh and that's what I like about these books. The story is told from Nikki's point of view in her diary with illustrations to go with what's going on. I thought it was a sweet and funny story that's sure to please anyone who enjoys books about friendship, middle school, and that have a touch of humor on every page.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Eighth grader Nikki Maxwell candidly shares with us the journaling of her no-so-fabulous days at her new private school Westchester Day School. Nikki's father, being the new exterminator, earned her a scholarship to a school where she doesn't fit in with the rich and snobby CCP (Cute, Cool & Popular) clique led by the snarky Mackenzie. Nikki knows that in order to dazzle the new crowd into accepting her she needs a new iPhone but her `rents stubbornly refuse to buy her one. Her Mom even goes so far as to tell her that if she really wants one she'll have to save up and buy it with her own money. Ugh! Just when everything seems to be doomed the school announces a school-wide art competition where the first prize is $500!! Nikki knows she's totally got this since she's an artist with plenty art camp experience. Nikki runs to the school office to sign up and who does she run into??? None other than Mackenzie. No way is she brave enough to compete against the queen bee of WDS. Can she turn one disaster after another into triumph? Dork Diaries is simply fabulous! I've been in Nikki's shoes a time or two as I changed schools 8 different times while growing up so I can totally sympathize with being new girl on the block. At least my Dad didn't drive me to school with a giant roach on top of his van. The entire book is Nikki's diary filled with hilarious stories and amazing drawings (also illustrated by Rachel Renee Russell). It's the perfect read for young girls who agonize over not being part of the in-crowd like I used to. Nikki goes from the zero to a hero and then finally settles nicely into her niche as a typical teen. I recommend this read for all YA lovers.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Narrated by Jenni Barber. In an effort to spend time with Brandon, her crush, Nikki joins the school newspaper as advice columnist Dear Miss Know-it-All. But rival and popular girl Mackenzie remains a thorn in Nikki's side. OMG! Barber enthusiastically squeals, gasps, and gossips Nikki's story with the high spirits of any middle-school girl. Dork Diary fans will enjoy and appreciate--SQUEEEE! (Booktalk: disc 2, track 8?)

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Not so smart miss know it all is a great book but is kind of boring
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is a great book to read. Dork Diaries is a book about Nikki's new life in a private school in 8th grade. In the book there is a popular mean girl named Makenzie and her BFF Jessica. In the book she befriends with two girls named Chole and Zoey. She experiences lots of problems being the biggest dork in school. I really enjoy this book. You can always get great books to read in your local bookstore. :)
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I really liked this book! I tell my friends 'if you want a girl version of 'Diary of a wimpy kid', this is the book for you!'.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book is great! I found myself laughing out loud at the entries that Nikki puts in her diary. I can remember having those same thoughts as a middle school girl. The content is approachable for kids because it is written in language they they will understand but also introduces new vocabulary. Perfect book for young adolescent girls.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I read this book at least five times and im still not tired of reading it! Nikki is a dork. McKenzie, a popular snob, is ruining her life. Nikki is trying to survive. Brandon, her love might be in love with McKenzie. Everythings a mess when Nikki trys out for the art compatition, but then McKenzie trys out and makes everything think she going to win. But Nikki ends up winning! She has a reward for winning, what is she going to spend it on?
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Dork Diaries is a really good book. I would recomend it for people aged 9 and over.Rachel Renee Russell is quite a good author actually.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I think this is a great book. I think that it's interesting
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Seems like a Wimpy Kid for girls. Nikki is on scholarship to a snooty private day school because her dad has an extermination contract. His truck has a giant roach on the roof. Fairly predictable stuff, her locker is right next to the queen bee's, cute boy takes note of her, she's publicly humiliated. Some funny stuff, will likely be popular with the girls. I'm not a fan of these broadly broadly drawn characters and their often mean spirited behavior.
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Fourteen-year-old Nikki Maxwell writes in her diary of her struggle to be popular at her exclusive new private school, then of finding her place after she gives up on being part of the elite group.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Entertaining and very current. A girl's answer to the 'Diary of a Wimpy Kid' series.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Picked it up because the pictures were cute. It reminded me of Diary of a Wimpy Kid. But, I kind of like this more. The story is about a girl in Middle school having to deal with the drama of the cool kids. The story was good. Loved the characters. The pictures reminded me a little of anime, loved that. Overall, it was really enjoyable.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5She's so self centered and snobby like seriously move to a public shool and get some anti depressant drugs? since your life is ,"so horrible and cruddy""."
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Really, a 2 1/2. This series is quite popular with the middle grade girls at my school... Diary of a Wimpy Kid gone female. And it has plenty of funny moments, but it just kind of lost credibility for me when I discovered that Nikki is supposed to be 14 years old. I just couldn't buy it... her fixation on the Jonas Brothers and Hannah Montana would have been believable in an 11- or 12-year-old narrator, maybe, but not 14. The references to trendy pop stars who are trendy no longer have already dated the first title in the series, and Russell just seems to try too hard with WAY too many OMGs and other chatter that is supposed to sound like today's young teen but instead just sounds kind of exhausting. Eh.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5good book very interesting love the books will read again
