About this audiobook
Change the relationship you have into the one you want.
Welcome to the Relationship Revolution! Making Marriage Simple is the accessible, essential road map to building a strong marriage in the modern world. Bestselling authors Harville Hendrix and Helen LaKelly Hunt distill into ten essential truths what they've learned about how to create a successful and satisfying relationship-both from their decades of "R&D" in the marriage lab of their workshops, and from their own relationship journey. In each chapter, Harville and Helen introduce a simple truth-such as "a frustration is a wish in disguise," "incompatibility is grounds for marriage," or "conflict is growth trying to happen"-and then walk couples through easy yet effective exercises to help them apply each truth in real life, every day.
Harville and Helen have spent their careers helping couples transform their marriages through research, workshops, and counseling. But marriage-even for marriage experts-is never easy, and a number of years ago they found themselves on the brink of divorce. Harville and Helen put themselves back through the exercises they'd coached so many other couples through, saving their marriage and helping them achieve a true partnership.
This audiobook is for all couples. It offers the practical tools needed to transform one's relationship into a rewarding and joyous marriage. Written with humor, compassion, and honesty, Making Marriage Simple is a strategic blueprint for creating a stronger, more satisfying partnership in today's world.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This book is very interesting and quite challenging in that it gives you ways of learning how to connect with your life partner that seem strange to begin with.
I have yet to do any of the exercises as I feel its a book that you need to read first to get an idea of what they're asking you to do. Then after this initial reading go back over it and follow the exercises.
I would recommend it for anyone in a marriage, or marriage-like, relationship who would like to 'improve' his/her relationship. This does not mean that there's anything wrong with your current relationship, but that, like any type of human relationship, they need to worked on to keep them healthy and strong. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great exercises to work on yourself then on your marriage
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Easy to read, easy to understand. Save yourself the cost of marriage counseling and do it yourself. In each chapter, the authors present a "truth" about marriage that at first is pretty hard to believe. But by the time you've finished that chapter (enjoyable, easy reading), and you reflect the way they ask you to, you realize that this craziness really is true. They make you want a happier marriage, they convince you that it's definitely wonderful that you're having any problems at all ("Conflict is growth trying to happen"), and they encourage you to believe that you can transform your marriage into holy bliss with just a bit of hard work. The exercises that you do together are meaningful, insightful, valuable, and at times, difficult, but so far, we are making steady progress! I highly recommend this book to anyone married, even if you're not having problems.
Update: This book is the marriage bible. I brought it with us on every trip, and I've made tremendous growth as a person with this work. My marriage didn't last, but that was because my husband didn't fully buy in. Had he, we could've fulfilled our marriage's purpose (according to the book) and helped each other become whole, content, healthy adults. Instead, we will bring all of our unfinished business into the next relationship.
I will bring this book along.....
