About this audiobook

TWO STRANGERS
Cameron Dawson’s got a past he can’t seem to shake, but he’s hoping to change that. He’s moved back home to Faith, New Mexico and taken a job as assistant sheriff. What he doesn’t realize is that his newest nightmare’s about to begin. Strange things are happening. People are disappearing, and for others, it’s far worse…

DISTANCE SEPARATES THEM
Miles away in Albuquerque, Kyle Bancroft’s life is spinning out of control. She’s seeing, hearing, and dreaming things she can’t explain: Flashbacks to World War II and an eerie hospital ward with locked doors, empty gurneys, and guttural screams. To make matters worse, a ghostly green-eyed girl is complicating her visions with an urgent message: Time is running out.

A DARK SECRET CONNECTS THEM
Kyle’s otherworldly encounters are driving her straight toward Faith … and right into Cameron’s life. The body count is rising, the pressure is mounting, and the clock is ticking as they rush to uncover a dangerous secret hiding just below the surface of this all-American town—one that’s threatening to destroy Faith and everyone in it. A secret they must hunt down quickly … even if it costs them their own lives.

A VOICE FROM THE GRAVE WILL DRAW THEM TOGETHER

    This was an amazing audiobook.
The author created a suspenseful storyline, filled it with great depiction and brought it home with just the right amount of horror/action. The narrator, probably the best one in the business, made everyword count and made the story so vivid, you felt you were watching it. The characters were so well developed coupled with the narrator you felt every emotion they did. The ending was wonderful because of how the narrator dragged you in, you couldn't help feel the pain and loss. I didn't want this story to end! See for your self.

I liked the story, and it kept me interested to find out what happened next. The ending was a bit cliche, but still a solid read. Hats off to the narrator who had a different voice for almost everyone in town. That was very impressive.

Warning: don't start reading this book if you have to get up early in the morning. This book kept me up late on worknights. Once I started reading I had to make myself put it down. Night after night I found myself reaching up and turing the lamp back on. The pace is neck-breaking, the writing spectacular, and the plot full of surprises.

Decent horror story. Lots of people die, and you keep questioning why and how. In the end, however, everything is revealed. I recommend this story to all horror fans.

From the first couple pages, where the first murder happened, this book had me instantly hooked. I like a good horror novel as much as the next girl, and this book did not fail to meet those expectations. It began simply enough, with a seemingly straight-forward plot, and then it began to take very interesting turns, twisting and convoluting the storyline and making you keep guessing as to what will happen next.

The characters are interesting, the psychic aspect of it seemed a little out of place at first, but then as the storyline progressed it became more of an integral part of the plot, and gave the main protagonist (Cameron Dawson) more intuition into the crimes. The way it wrapped up so nicely, with the explanation that was found, seemed a little too simple for me, and gave me a little bit of a disappointed twinge at the end. But, I would recommend this book to absolutely everyone!

What an AMAZING author!!! He's the master of suspense / psychological thrillers. A small town sheriff suddenly finds himself with numerous, scary, sometimes graphic murders - - and no apparent connection between any of them. Great book! I also read his other book, "The Lion, the Lamb, the Hunted." It doesn't matter which one you read first - - different set of characters in each. Enjoy! (and sleep with the lights on!)

This is the best horror book I have read in a very long time. It wasn't cheesy at the end and it kept you interested the whole book. I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys horror or even if you don't. It is a great book!

Wow! I have been a horror/thriller fan all of my life and lately it's been really hard to find a good one. This one exceeded my expectations. Not only was the plot amazing, there were surprising twists and turns, plus really likable characters that I felt that I got attached to. It takes a lot to surprise me and I usually get disappointed when there is a mystery presented that I figure out right away. This one kept me on my toes and kept me guessing. I really appreciate that in a story. I highly recommend this book!

This book is a lot of things - thriller, suspense, mystery with a twist of paranormal. We even find a little romance along the way. But the biggest label that should be attached is Bestseller. For me, Kaufman's writing is flawless. Some of the scenes, particularly at the beginning, are gruesome. However, unlike some authors who rely on lots of graphic violence to carry the story, Kaufman gives us just enough to let our imaginations run wild. The plot has multiple layers with characters you'll want to follow into the dark places. Once you start this one, you won't want to put it down.

It takes a lot to rattle this seasoned veteran of the fright night generation, but Andrew Kaufman managed to shake me up with his shadowy serial killer mystery. Shortly after finishing the book, I received the link to the book trailer. Okay, I admit with my first click I nearly jumped out of my skin, then of course, laughed at myself for being ridiculous. What makes the book scary? For me, it’s the realness of the murders and the knowledge that this type of sadistic evil really lurks in the world. However, lots of books portray evils, so what makes this special? After sleeping on it, I determined the story possesses two important elements that when working together, is pure chemistry. First, the tone of the writing. In some plot driven tales, the tone can be lost and sound flat. Here, the tone is never over played or sensationalized. It is contained, restrained, and depicted with such stark detail that the imagination has no choice but to fill in the blanks. As Stephen King said, the best special effects are in our own minds. My mind was lead just enough to create the world Kaufman was hoping I’d see. Secondly, the fright factor is increased because of the story’s honesty. What do I mean? The characters never waver beyond their abilities. There is no super power genius or rich hero budget, but rather hometown people dealing with a crisis. Each character is credible. I can not stress how important this is in suspense writing. I recommend watching the book trailer. All I can say is I’m looking under my covers before I crawl in bed tonight! The most gruesome scenes happen within the first 50 pages. Luckily, the suspense keeps climbing, but those who can’t handle graphic detail might wuss out. The basic background plot of the male main character was a bit cliche as far as crime fiction goes. The cop who blames himself for someone’s death. Still, I shrugged it off because it worked with the story. Do I wish for perfection and want him to be shaped by a more original character formula, yes, but I’ll live.
