      Complete change of pace from the Carlotta Carlyle series! I love those, and loved this. Almost an Agatha Christie feel. Narrative in first person, and a fascinating, sometimes a bit infuriating, narrator. Gorgeous writing—I feel Barnes’s plots and characters are so engrossing that the poetic touches are a beautiful surprise, and maybe too easy to zip by, so she’s someone I try to read a little more slowly. EXCELLENT audiobook production, with a perfect reader.
