About this audiobook
A party of hunters stumbles upon a desiccated human hand, a feisty grandmother meets an untimely death in her own kitchen, and the broken remains of a World War II-era transport plane emerge from the face of a calving glacier. It's all in a day's work for Sergeant Liam Campbell of the Alaska State Troopers. And 60 years ago is like yesterday.
Liam had his hands clenched around the edge of his seat and with every muscle strained upward, keeping that plane in the sky. Oh, God yes, anything but down, please, please. I’ll never get drunk again, I’ll do all of Miranda every single time no matter how the Supreme Court rules, I’ll marry and settle down and live a nice, quiet life, just please don’t let this plane go down with me on board.
But when he risked a glance out the window, down seemed to be coming up very fast indeed, and now he cursed the light of the moon that so clearly illuminated the river beneath them.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Great book. Thank you for providing such good entertainment. You folks rock.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A good entry in this almost abandoned series. Lots of history tangled with the sudden appearance of a WW2 "GooneyBird" in a calving glacier. A cameo appearance from Liam's father and a revelation from Moses to Wy complicate relationships as Liam tries to solve the murder of the mom and daughter of a longtime resident family.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Another Liam Campbell mystery, combined with romance and history. What better? Set in a small Alaska town, the discovery of a DC-3/C-47 embedded in a glacier sets ripples throughout the town. The mystery is topped off with a couple of romances and it's all a good story.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The last published (to date) Liam Campbell mystery; another great tale with Liam and Wy, with a decent mystery that once again shows the ripple effects of crime on small-town Alaska, while developing their own relationship. The WWII history ties were neat as well, since the Alaskan experience in that period is unknown to most people. "BtR" leaves a lot of open ends for Liam, though, so the news that a fifth Liam book is forthcoming, probably in 2010, is definitely welcome.
