Blue and her Raven Boys, Gansey, Ronan, Adam and Noah are all dealing with the consequences of the ley line ritual, particularly Adam. The ley lines have been awakened, but they seem to be out of control, and no one knows exactly why.Noah keeps disappearing, Adam is off-kilter, Ronan confesses a huge secret, and Gansey is still trying to track down Glendower, all while trying to hold everyone together. All of our characters have family issues going on. Also, there's a hit-man in town looking for the Greywaren. The group is now charged with fixing the ley lines, finding out what the Greywaren is and keeping it out of the hands of very bad people, and continue searching for The Raven King.We learn a lot more about our characters' background in this story, and there is definitely some character development--not all of it good. New characters are introduced and I cannot wait to see what role they will all play in the next book.

I loved the development of all of the characters in this book. I feel like in this book the reader really gets to see more of each character. They are all three-dimensional. I feel like these characters are people I know. I know so much about them. Love it!

This book is full of secrets, magic, and friendship. I think this second book attack me so hard in the last part. I knew more about Ronan’s ability and in the end just let my mouth open. Exciting to read the next one, I can't wait for this.

The magical quest continues to be intriguing. However, I can't help but feel at least a little queer-baited. Whether or not it was the author's intent, she used language in the private thoughts of some of the boys that made it seem like they had feelings for one another. Then shifted complete focus to the blossoming of a hetero relationship. Albeit one that was at least alluded to in the first book.

Great Audiobook, loved the story i did go into it not remembering much from The Raven Boys so I suggest reading/listening to them back to back and not taking a long break in between.

Wonderful!! Maggie does it again. Her writing is a joy to read or listen to, and I love all these characters. The story is intriguing, too, and you start to empathize with characters you think you hate.

The Dream Thieves is a great continuation of The Raven Cycle series, with introductions to fantastic new characters and storylines. To me, it’s not quite as exciting or engaging as the other books, but that may just be because I remember where the story is going.

4, maybe 4.5 stars. Loved this one a lot more than the last, although maybe I liked book 1 more than I thought because I couldn’t stop thinking about it. But what an ending! And that cliffhanger!!

I could stop listening to this, the story just sucked me in and I found myself finding reasons to not stop listening. Ronan is a very complex and complicated character, and like Blue, I feel drawn toward him. I listened more intently during his narratives, and felt like each reveal was more shocking than the last. I don’t know where this story will lead, but I’m more than willing for it to take me on a journey.

Well this was more engaging than the first book for sure! I honestly read the first again because a booktuber said she had the same experience as me with the first book and she had to read it a second time to love it. And sure enough, once you already know the deal with Noah, the first book is a whole experience... which leads me to THIS book. I never knew I’d come to like a character like Ronan. He wasn’t my cup of tea in the first and I’m glad Blue put him in his place when it was needed but he became interesting enough here. I’m a little disappointed this was basically his book but it was so well executed that you don’t mind, I guess. 4 stars!

I thought this was a great continuation of the Raven Cycle series. I enjoyed the first book The Raven Boys and this one is on par with that one in mystery, suspense, and entertainment. I particularly liked the narrator, Will Patton, for this audio book; he had a tone down for the boys that brought them to life for me. I am looking forward to the third and soon to be published fourth book. Recommended if you like urban fantasy.

Although I had already pre-ordered this, I was excited when I heard NetGalley had a copy. I immediately went and requested one and got approved! :) Thank you NetGalley! To quickly point out a few things: Adam and Blue have a "thing" going, Gansey is still on his search for Glendower - the lost Welsh King, Adam made a sacrifice to be Cabeswater's eyes and ears, and we discovered that Ronan takes things out of his dreams (such as his raven, Chainsaw). All of that out of the way, on to the book at hand. :)I was super excited to be around them all again - Blue, Gansey, Adam, Ronan, Noah... it was like being reunited with long lost friends. But, things are changing with Adam since the sacrifice he made at the end of book one. His friends are watching him carefully, noting the anger, the attitude differences. No one really knows what the sacrifice means, exactly, so they are left wondering, waiting to see what will happen to their Adam. He and Blue are teetering on the edge of something, and only time will tell which way their relationship will go.Gansey... oh, Gansey. The focus isn't as much on him in this book, but he's definitely still the leader, the glue that holds the group together. He tries to save them all and it pains him when he can't, or they choose not to let him. This book is mainly about Ronan, though. Ronan and his secrets, his family's secrets. We find out in TRB that he can take things out of dreams - such as Chainsaw. We get to experience some of those dreams, or nightmares, really, throughout the book. In doing so we learn so much about Ronan and we definitely get to see the Ronan that Gansey so desperately wants to save.I will be anxiously awaiting the next installment in the Raven Cycle. :)First Read: August 2013Re-read: September 2014 (in anticipation of Blue Lily, Lily Blue coming out in October...)Update: STILL love... :)

Blue finds that all three of the boys are attracted to her, but if she loves them she could kill them. Ronan is exploring his ability to bring things back from dreams; Gansey struggles between helping friends and charity and Adam can't work out what his sacrifice was and means for his future. Blue's mum is still a bit strange and there's a new player, the Gray man who is hunting Greywarren and whose regulated life is becoming different. It's a complicated book that seems to be mostly setting up the sequel and what's going to happen to the characters but it was also interesting, the characters are growing and evolving and you can see that their actions are having consequences. This is an interesting series and you can see how the author has thought through some of he implications for the characters that are long-lasting and will cascade later, I'm sure.
