Let me start with, I love J.A. Redmerski and everything she has written and whatever she writes. The story continues from the Edge of Never and I was expecting the same emotions in Edge of Never to be in Edge of Always. It's a different book. I get that now. I loved the Edge of Always, the story, the emotions, and the unsettled feelings. A great love story to the end. But, it is not the Edge of Never.

This was such a disappointment. I had this on my kindle for a while, and when I finally got the chance to read it, I kept checking my percentage to see if it was done yet. I pretty much share the same viewpoints from everyone else that rated this book 1-2 stars. I loved Camryn and Andrew from The Edge of Never, but they just didn't feel like the same couple in this one. It felt all over the place and there didn't seem to be any sort of plot at all. I was wondering when things were going to pick up, but it never did. The Edge of Never did not need a sequel. The Edge of Always just felt very put together like Redmerski didn't know what she wanted to do with Andrew and Camryn. The first book was perfect and I'm fine pretending that this never happened.

Towards the end of the book around 70% or so I don't think they should have traveled with their 1 year old daughter. I know it's just a book, but that just seems really unrealistic. I can't imagine anyone traveling the world, country to country, with a toddler. Personally I thought that Camryn shouldn't have been pregnant at all a second time. They should've traveled instead of worrying about a baby tying them down. Not like that stopped them anyway, but still.

In general, I just had a problem with the whole "monotonous day to day life is evil" monologue that both characters had. There's nothing wrong with staying in one place. That's what vacations are for, and god knows they have the money to go anywhere and do anything they want to. Which reminds me of Andrew's inheritance. If I remember correctly, Camryn says at one point it's six figures, I don't actually remember how much it was if it was stated (I'm sure it was). She alluded that that's what they're going to use to travel. I remember rolling my eyes at that. They have their jobs, and are living cheap with a baby, when you clearly have the money to live comfortably. But no, that money is for traveling. Yeah at that point in the book I was very cynical and criticized everything. This isn't The Edge of Never and I regret reading The Edge of Always.

(Also as a side note, what was up with the book ending around 80%? There was a bonus chapter from Andrew's point of view at the hospital from the first book (which was fine), and then after that was a preview of the first 3 chapters of The Edge of Never. There should've been a preview of one of Redmerski's other books, not the 1st book in this series. Just a bit unnecessary.)

ARC provide by NetGalley for an honest review:

I found this book to be wonderful. I loved the first book and to give me an extension into their lives and not make it perfect but gritty and real. That was tear jerking. I am more in love with Andrew then I was in the first book. He's the great love of her life.

The story moved a little slow at times and that made my usual reading for this book to take longer than I would have preferred. But it was completely worth it.

More detail of review to come soon.

    Happy reading.

This book had such sweet moments in it, and I absolutely LOVE that no matter what bullshit was thrown their way, never once did Camryn or Andrew consider running away from each other. Life can get hard, but if you love each other, you face it together, and these two understood that.

Parts of the story pissed me off, and I wanted to smack Camryn around a few times, but in the end, I enjoyed their journey. [SPOILER!!] And I absolutely adored their wedding vows... yes, I got a little watery in the eyes at that point. (don't judge me)

I loved this book, although I think the first one was better. There was a lot of heart ache and crying through out this book. I mean that for me I cried buckets. The majority of the book was extremely similar to the first road trip. I still enjoyed the book. I felt that the ending was perfect. If the story continued in to different charter's I would read them. I really enjoyed J. A. Resmerski writing style. I think these books would make a great movie. I've never seen one that started on a bus and traveled across the country.

Having read the first book in this series, I loved Camryn and Andrew but they just didn't feel like the same couple in this one. I had a hard time even finishing it. (Lots of dragging moments that really didn't add anything to the story anyway.) Honestly, if I could have walked away from it I would have. I just can't stand leaving a book unread. Loved first book, didn't love this one.I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

I have to tell you I loved The Edge of Always, to start it was beautifully written. The story so quickly took on a life of its own. I was no longer sitting down reading I was transported into the backseat of a 1969 Chevelle dropping in on the lives of Camryn and Andrew. And that made every emotion they felt so real to me, every heartache I felt rip at my heart & every joy made me smile. As we all know the ending of the Edge of Never left us with a gaping hole in our hearts not knowing which emotion to feel. We start the Edge of Always a few months after Andrew’s time in the hospital and so much has changed for them both. They are taking a new journey together and although its one they didn’t plan for its one they didn’t avoid either. There are so many different struggles and triumphs for Andrew and Camryn in this book. Some shared together, some their own personal strife that they must learn how to overcome. They have to learn how to trust one and to be honest all over again. Because in the face of anguish we all have little moments of weakness. But those moments of weakness do not define us unless we let them. And I can tell you honestly that’s what this series says to me more than anything else. Make your own path, set your own course, define your world don’t let it define you! If you haven’t picked up these books, I highly suggest that you do! They are a wonderful story of working to overcome the odds no matter the circumstance that surrounds you!Jammie

Review courtesy of Dark Faerie TalesQuick & Dirty: A very touching love story filled with heartache and hope. Fans of The Edge of Never will be very satisfied with this wonderful sequel.Opening Sentence: A few months ago, when I was laid up in that hospital bed, I didn’t think I’d be alive today much less be expecting a baby and engaged to an angel with a dirty mouth. The Review:Camryn Bennett met the love of her life five months ago on a Greyhound bus. Her life was in shambles when she met Andrew and now she finally feels like she is complete. They plan to spend the rest of their lives together and to always do the one thing they love most: travel. Then a horrible tragedy strikes and Camryn is left devastated. She has sunk back into herself like she did before she met Andrew and it doesn’t look like she is going to come back this time.Andrew Parrish loves Camryn more than life itself and he will do everything in his power to help her deal with her pain. He is hurting to, but the only way he will be able to heal is if he has Camryn by his side. To prove to her that love can withstand anything, he decides to take Camryn on a new journey. A new beginning filled with hope and forgiveness is just what Camryn and Andrew need to become whole again.I love that the book was told in a dual POV, you get to see inside both their heads, and it added so much to the story. Camyrn is the same beautiful spontaneous girl that we met in The Edge of Never. She does go through some depression problems but she works through them and grows so much more as a character. Andrew is still just as charming and gorgeous as ever. You get to know him better in this book and I fell even more in love with him. He is such a strong person; even through adversity he holds his own and is a comfort to Camryn. The one thing I loved about them in the first book was their beautiful free spirits and their love of traveling. They still have those wonderful qualities and you discover so many more about them throughout the story. The Andrew and Camyrn love story is epic and one I will never forget. It is full of so much passion and hope. They aren’t perfect but their imperfections make them so much more relatable and realistic. They lean on each other and get through some really hard times. Together they grow and learn about love, life, loss, and happiness. I loved them and while I am sad to see their story end it was time. They will be characters I will never forget and I will continue to read their stories many times in the future. The Edge of Always was a wonderful touching read that I really enjoyed. But with that being said, I do have to say that it wasn’t quite as good as the first book. The Edge of Never was a phenomenal book that warmed my heart and kept me guessing the whole way through the book. This plot was a lot more predictable and I felt there weren’t as many significant moments. The tone is a lot more serious in this book, which made it a more emotional read. While it didn’t have quite the same effect on me as the first book did, it was still a wonderful story and a beautiful ending to Camyrn and Andrew’s story. The message portrayed in the story is very profound and heartwarming. Redmerski really knows how to write in a way that pulls at your emotions. She makes you feel like you are a real part of the characters lives. I have become a huge fan of Redmerski and I can’t wait to see what she comes out with next. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a touching new adult series.Notable Scene:I nod, smiling back at her, and then I squeeze her hands and pull her down toward me again.“You’re the world to me,” I whisper onto her lips. “I hope you never forget that.”“I’ll never forget,” she whispers back and moves her hips very subtly on my lap. Then she nudges my lips with her own and says just before kissing me, “But if I ever do, for whatever reason, I hope you’ll always find a way to remind me.”I study her mouth and then her cheeks resting underneath the pads of my thumbs.“Always,” I say and kiss her ravenously.FTC Advisory: Forever/Grand Central Publishing/Hachette Book Group provided me with a copy of The Edge of Always. I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

“We may not have the details mapped out-and we don’t need to-but we both know which direction we don’t want to go.”

I will admit it, I was extremely apprehensive going into this book. Counting down the days until I could get it into my greedy little hands, yes, absolutely! But I absolutely LOVED the first story and was scared that nothing else could compare to the journey I took with Andrew and Camryn. I may not have experienced the same level of emotions with Always as I did with Never, but that is perfectly alright. As Camryn figures out in the book, you can’t re-create memories, it just taints them. Instead, you have to make new ones. That is exactly what I felt like this book did for me. It took me on a new journey, one similar to the last, but completely different in a plethora of new ways.

What Andrew and I have been slowly doing without realizing it is what shatters dreams: we’ve been getting too comfortable.

I know how easy it is to get comfortable in your relationship, to just assume that everything is okay and always will be. To not put forth the extra effort to keep it growing, changing. Because as living, breathing creatures, that is what we do. It is inevitable. No one stays the same person they were when they were younger. We get older, we become complacent, and we take for granted that people will always be there. Andrew and Camryn teach us all that we have to cherish what is right in front of us, EVERY DAY, in that moment, because you never know what the next day will bring. Tell someone you love them as often as possible, show them in ways only you know how. Appreciate them, and never take them for granted. Today is guaranteed, tomorrow never is.

Now, there comes a time in a person’s life when you have to face something so horrible that you feel like you’ll never be the same person again. It’s like something dark swoops down from somewhere above and steals every shred of happiness you have ever felt and all you can do is watch it, feel it go, knowing that no matter what you do in your life that you’ll never be able to get it back. Everybody goes through this at least once. No one is immune. But what I fail to understand is how one person can go through it enough for five people and in such a short time.

My heart simply broke into a thousand pieces MULTIPLE times in this book! The depths of despair, over and over, were insurmountable. I felt as if I would never crawl out of that black hole, and every time I inched up slightly, I fell back down. Though the walls seemed too high to climb, I never gave up hope. I could see the light around the bend, I just had to figure out how to get there. Because surely they would get there right? Surely this couple that I fell in love with would get their happily ever after? The problem with that though, in life, we aren’t guaranteed an happily ever after. And sometimes, it may come in the form of something that you didn’t even know was possible. Something you didn’t even know to dream of. And ever so slowly, the pieces start to get put back together.

“You’re the world to me,” I whisper onto her lips. “I hope you never forget that.”
“I’ll never forget. But if I ever do, for whatever reason, I hope you’ll always find a way to remind me.”
“Always,” I say and kiss her ravenously.

What I loved about Andrew and Camryn – this is a couple that fought for each other. Neither one could fool the other, and when they tried, they were called out on it. There were no lies, no half truths, no I am doing this to protect you. They simply were. Two halves of a whole. Two peas in a pod. Mirror images, complementing each other. Orpheus and Eurydice. In all their flaws and imperfections, they were perfect to me.

“We can’t control death,” I say. “There’s nothing either of us can do to avoid it or to hold it off. All we can control is how we live our lives before it comes for us. So, let’s promise each other things that we can hold true to no matter what.”

I felt like these two souls saw life in a very honest, raw way. They accepted the hardships thrown at them, but didn’t go down with a fight. They faced death head-on, never shying away. There is a truth in them that I think we should all strive for. I know I do. While nothing can surmount the epicness that was The Edge of Never, I loved this story for many different reasons. That said, it is by far a five star read for me, and one I will be revising in the future. I am not now, nor will I ever be, ready to let completely go of Andrew and Camryn!

    “You think we’re lost?”
I tilt my head back a little and look up at the stars behind her and say, ”In society maybe. But together, no. I think we’re right where we need to be.”

So, I did not love the first book in the series but I had book 2 on my shelves so I had to give it a try.I liked seeing the development with the characters and their story. In The Edge of Never, Cam is dealing with so many different tragic live events. She really does not deal them, as she uses her new romance to mask what she is really going through. In this book, more tragedy occurs! She is now facing the reality of how to deal with everything that has happened.Again, I think this was good. For some reason both book 1 and 2 should be everything I want in a good read, but I just could not connect with them. Both were good, but I was not blown away.
