About this audiobook

Maya Rodale's captivating new series introduces London's Least Likely—three wallflowers who are about to become the toast of the ton . . .

Lady Emma Avery has accidentally announced her engagement—to the most eligible man in England. As soon as it's discovered that Emma has never actually met the infamously attractive Duke of Ashbrooke, she'll no longer be a wallflower; she'll be a laughingstock. And then Ashbrooke does something Emma never expected. He plays along with her charade.

A temporary betrothal to the irreproachable Lady Avery could be just the thing to repair Ashbrooke's tattered reputation. Seducing her is simply a bonus. And then Emma does what he never expected: she refuses his advances. It's unprecedented. Inconceivable. Quite damnably alluring.

London's Least Likely to Misbehave has aroused the curiosity—among other things—of London's most notorious rogue. Now nothing will suffice but to uncover Emma's wanton side and prove there's nothing so satisfying as two perfect strangers . . . being perfectly scandalous together.

Needs to be slashed with an editing pen; many redundant scenes and dialogue. Pretty much the run of the mill regency duke story, with a few cute pretty acts and colloquy. Read like the author's first book (it's not, but the first I've read by Ms. Rodale), there's something there but very infantile.

Oh, and you probably want to stuff any historical knowledge into a dark corner of your brain while you read this. I mean, I could be wrong but the terms "Lover Boy" and "God Awful" and an unmarried miss, albeit an engaged one, running wild unchaperoned with nary a raised eyebrow seem a tad off for 19th century England. Decently meh. I am going to plan on reading the second in this series though, and give this author another try.

I wanted to like this book on the premise alone. I loved the idea and the set up and the beginning of the novel were all things that made me want to love this book. Sadly, I did not. I found myself skipping passages and reading forward just to get it over with. I didn't even finish it sadly. There were huge historical inaccuracies, which in some cases are fine, but then it just got to the point of ridiculous. The idea was great, execution, not so much.

    good story but too long.

I had trouble deciding what to rate this story. While it was intriguing and witty it was also troubling when I got to thinking about it. Emma went to a house party, unchaperoned, with a rouge. Seriously? Granted that this just was not done, even if one is engaged to the other, it made for an enchanting read of budding romance. I particularly enjoyed the letters they wrote one another and what they did with them. Splendid.

Aunt Agatha was a treat to read. She was my favorite character in this novel, with her strapping blonde god horde and her rather sharp comments. I know in real life I could be either quite taken or severely terrified of the woman. And the fact that she was the guardian of such a rouge is interesting. Yes, I wish there had been more of her appearances.

It did not fit exactly with the time period.. but a good read if you are not to fastidious about historical accuracy. However I got really tired of the constant reference to how Emma couldn't have Blake because she was a "wallflower" and how the surge in her self esteem was totally related to him.

Not a book to be judged by its cover. This was a fun, funny, over the top story with a likeable hero and heroine.

I really wanted to love this book. The premise was a little crazy but I was able to suspend my disbelief and enjoy the story. I love the wallflower type of heroine and enjoyed her group of friends. What I had a big issue with was the heroine going back and forth between wanting to be with the hero and not. After a big romantic gesture, I thought this is it, they've both proclaimed themselves. But I should have known. There were a good 60 pages left in the book so of course she starts to have doubts; but it was more than doubts, she was ready to go back to her old beau. Just so frustrating with a book that had a lot of promise.

I love Maya Rodale's books. This one was so good. I am not good with words and writing reviews. I would recommend this to all historical romance lovers.
