      Lisa Gardner's books featuring DD Warren are always entertaining and interesting and this one was no exception. DD is injured when this book begins and she has to deal with a murdering while on limited duty. A good read.

      I read this 2014 rendering of Lisa Gardner's D.D. Warren series novel over the course of about three days. Hadn't read Gardner for awhile but I have much of what she's written in my personal library and just added this one to the collection. Around Chapter 17--about page 175--I was tempted to put the book aside--maybe read later, maybe not. But I didn't put it aside and I'm glad I didn't listen to that little voice because he can be wrong, but not usually. This time he was. The back and forth, "main" character leading chapter then switch to another "important" character leading next chapter (something I don't normally like in a novel) did it's job in the long run--for I discovered that if you are to understand the story you must seriously understand much about the the characters, D.D., Alex, Phil, and Shana, and most of all Adeline. Well done. Good read. It goes on the shelf--not in the find it a new home bag.

      I read this as it was highly recommended to me, but as one who more enjoys the historical fiction genre, I found this a bit too gruesome and gorey for me. It is packed with action and it was filled with suspense to the very end.

      Another great audiobook by Lisa Gardner! Detective D.D. Warren is checking a crime scene when someone pushes her down a flight of stairs seriously damaging her shoulder. Even though she's on leave and going through painful physical therapy, she can't stay away from this case. Someone is killing women and the M.O. is very much like that of a serial killer that's been dead for decades. His two daughters, though are not. One is in prison for murdering a young boy when she was a teenager, and the other is a well respected psychologist who is unable to feel pain. Another great read, although not for the faint of heart!

      A rare recessive genetic freak of nature Dr Adeline Glen not only had the inability to feel physical pain she was also the product of a psychopathic torturer/serial killer. Unusual suspects, Great suspense. The book is written from three POV's - Dr Adeline Glen, Detective D.D. Warren and the killer. The killer wasn't revealed until the end; the routes we traveled to get there were twisty.

      When the universe granted her life, it tucked little Adeline Glen securely into the grim crack between a rock and a hard place. Born with a genetic mutation that prevents her from feeling physical pain, her existence is one of constant vigilance, bodily inspection, and self-care. She could break a bone and not know it, suffer a cut and bleed out in blissful ignorance; heck, she could spend too much time in the sun and never catch the warning signs of a lethal case of heatstroke. Living, as it turns out for Adeline, is not a whole lot of fun.

      That should be enough of a travail for a principal player in a thriller, and under normal circumstances, it might have been...but we're in Lisa Gardner territory here. And so, as it happens, Adeline Glen is additionally the daughter of a notorious serial killer (long dead) and the sister of Shana Day, another killer currently in prison. Enough? Think again. Adeline Glen also happens to be a therapist - doctor Gardner's hero, D.D. Warren is assigned after being brutally attacked by a psychopath attempting to copycat the crimes of Adeline's dad.

      It is the only flaw in the work; this penchant to structure a tale on a few coincidences is too many. While enriching motivation and complicating the emotional dynamics, it has the unfortunate drawback of stretching credulity to the breaking point. Still, if you can overlook this abundance of serendipity, I can promise you're in for a heck of a ride. The writing is sharp, the characters are exceedingly well-drawn, and the pacing is superb. In this regard, Lisa Gardner gives her readership all it's come hungry and hunting for.

      I love her books, this is my least favorite of her books only because this book involved suicide, slicing skin, razor blades, rape and violence. I literally felt sick reading it. It had the momentum and detail her books normally have. If you’re a fan you’ll probably like it if you’re not as squeamish as me. I’m normally fine reading books like this but this was too much. I need to read something light and happy after this because frankly I’m a little traumatized.

      I loved this book where detective D.D. Warren is injured at a crime scene and becomes a consultant to find the murderer. She can't work because of the pain and goes to a pain therapist who can't feel pain. She helps with the investigation which is similar to crimes committed forty years ago by a man who is dead. I couldn't put this book down, but the ending was sad.

      I have read all of the books in the DD Warren series and I think this one is the best. She has become a more well rounded character now that she has a husband and baby. The book was creepy and scary and had you guessing until the end. The characters were believable and the plot was tight and well put together. A great book and very hard to put down once you get started.

      I think this is the best book yet in this series. Unusual suspects, a serial killer who has been dead 30 years and a young woman who can feel no pain. Detective DD Warren has been seriously injured at a crime scene, and we get to see more of her real personality as she struggles with the pain and the fear that she will never be herself again.

      Wow, great psychological thriller! A co-worker was reading it and offered me the book when she finished. I couldn't put it down and read it in two sittings. It captured me from the first page. I was going crazy trying to figure it out, lol. I'm going to check out other books by this author for sure.

      Gardner grabs the reader from the first line of the prologue and does not let go. Fear Nothing is absolutely brilliant and a book I could not put down. For anyone who loves exceptionally well written suspense mysteries, pick a copy of Fear Nothing by Lisa Gardner.

      In this psychological thriller, the Rose Killer is imitating the murders that were committed by a prior killer 30 years ago. The killer not only murders their victims but slices parts of their skin to take as souvenirs.Detective D.D. Warren is investigating along with her partner Phil and her husband, criminalist, Alex.The killer who is being imitated is Shand Day who has been jailed in a Massachusetts Criminal facility for thirty years.Dr. Adeline Glen is Shana's sister. Adeline has a rare genetic condition that makes her unable to feel pain. She is a psychiatrist and becomes D.D.'s pain therapist after D.D. is pushed down a flight of stairs by a criminal she didn't see.The story is told from the point of view of D.D. and that of Adeline. With every other chapter told by the other character.The characters are intense and through a maze of twists and surprises Adeline, Shana and D.D. communicate. The reader is swept up with the suspense. Shana is the leading suspect but how could she commit crimes while locked up? Is there a copycat killer?This edge of seat novel will have the reader gasping for breath as the suspense mounts in an explosive conclusion.

      A brilliantly written psychological thriller encompassed around a dysfunctional family member accused of being a serial killer, but the physical evidence of who's responsible leads to many different individuals that have personal motives for these murders. These characters will keep you spellbound throughout and keeping you on the edge of your seat till the end.

      A good murder mystery that will keep you guessing until the end. Detective DD Warrenis injured at a crime scene and becomes a consultant to find the muderer. The crimes being committed are sismilar to ones comiited forty years ago by a man who is now dead.

      Lisa Gardner does it again with a gripping thriller that is un-put-downable. The seventh in Gardner's D.D. Warren series, "Fear Nothing" has D.D. on the case but severely limited by a physical injury, the details of which she can't remember. The mystery builds, details slowly become available, and D.D. gets closer and closer to the truth behind a series of murders. In the meantime, other plot elements that seem only peripherally related to the main case reveal themselves to be much closer to the heart of things. In typical Gardner fashion, the plot elements are deftly interwoven, the truth closing in with nail-biting tension and suspense. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and read it in two sittings. I'm looking forward to the next D.D. Warren novel!

      Lisa Gardner is a superb author. I enjoy the DD Warren series very much. This book was based on an interesting “feel no pain” premise, but sadly I did not feel much in terms of pathos for any of the characters this time around. I also felt dissatisfied by the resolution, wondering if Lisa had settled on a convenient killer rather than plotting toward the perfect killer and then deciding she might fare better as a recurring series character, would love to know. Nonetheless, I look forward to the next book.

Shana, the older sister, learned this lesson far too well and has racked up murders outside and even inside prison walls. Police detective sergeant D.D. Warren and her team are investigating a ritualistic serial killer who is obtaining layers of skin as a trophy the same MO as Adeline and Shana's own dear dead daddy did 40 years before. D.D.'s and Adeline's fates intersect when D.D. came to close to the current serial killer and sustained horrific muscle and tendon injuries.

      What is particularly fascinating about Lisa Gardner’s novels is her sweeping portrayal of her characters who are totally different from each other. Think of the main protagonist, and other characters like Adeline and Shana – they are poles apart. Fear Nothing has a serial killer who removes people’s skin and a woman prisoner who is a psychopath. If you loved her earlier books, you will love this one too.

      I will keep this review short and simple…If you like the murder/mystery/thriller genre then you are going to enjoy Lisa Gardner’s Fear Nothing. This is a book in the detective DD Warren series that can be read as a standalone book, but you would enjoy it a little more if you read the previous books and understood the history of the characters. Having read all of Lisa’s books I get excited when she releases something new, and although this is not one of my all time favorites from her it is a fast paced page turner. The DD Warren series has a great cast of main characters they are believable, and the storyline has an interesting crime and cast of characters surrounding it. If you have read and enjoyed: Lisa Gardner, Karin Slaughter, Chelsea Cain (early good books), or Cody Mcfadyen just to give a few points of reference then you will want to pick up Fear Nothing.

      I don't think I have ever given a book five stars before!! This book kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time I read it. Spell binding yet rather gruesome in content at times. And the ending really was a HUGE surprise. Fantastic!!!

      This was a good one. I really enjoyed Dr. Glen's character. Shame she had to go in the end I would have liked to see her in future novels in the series. 4.4 Nice one!

      This book definitely had the creep factor that Lisa Gardner writes so well and it is now the second creepiest after Say Goodbye.I love that DD has grown so much as a person I've always loved the writing of this series but DD has always annoyed me but the last couple books , well, since she got pregnant there has been a humanizing of her and I am glad for that. This one gave us a raw, injured DD and we saw a softer more vulnerable side to her which I enjoyed immensely.This story kept me guessing and had some great red herrings including one I made up in head about the Warden that never did come to pass but I still think Gardner wanted me to suspect what I did. (*no spoilers*)She also explores nature vs. nurture if everyone in your family is a psychopath, even though you didn’t grow up with them will it make you one too? When your father was a serial killer who kidnapped and tortured young women then buried them under your house, then your sister murders a child when she is just a child plus has killed a couple guards so is in prison with no hope of parole, but you were a baby these things shouldn’t have to be you should they? Adeline was the lucky one adopted by a doctor who really did help her so much and kept her from her past but when he dies… Adeline ends up making decisions that will change everything. I was also fascinated by the Adeline’s condition; she doesn’t feel pain which sounds good on the surface but as Adeline shows us it’s not a gift but a curse because you have to live very, very carefully. Adeline has to check her body every night because an infection she can’t feel will kill her. I can’t imagine breaking a bone and not feeling it and just going on with your day.Gardner also goes into the crazy murderabilia business where people buy letters and items from horrific crimes & criminals. Google it , it is more macabre than any book could ever be. I didn’t realize just how much there really was out there till I googled this to see what the correct spelling was, it is frightening and very odd!All in all this is another great book from Gardner and I am happy to report DD is finally growing on me and I am liking her more and more. Another great read from Lisa Gardner! Highly recommend.5 Stars I received this book from netgalley and the publisher for a fair and honest review.

      Great mystery and had an unexpected ending. I've read one other D.D. Warren book before and enjoyed it as well so I'll probably read more! I love that they can be read as stand alones as well!
