It's the opportunity of a lifetime-the chance to prove that a tomb containing the remains of the legendary hero Hercules actually exists. If American archaeologist Nina Wilde can locate it, it will be the most important historical find ever unearthed. But as Nina and her ex-SAS bodyguard, Eddie Chase, begin their search, it's clear that others want to find the tomb-and the unimaginable riches within-and will do anything to get there first.
Who will find the tomb of Hercules first, and what fantastic treasure does it hold? From New York to Shanghai, from Switzerland to the diamond mines of Botswana, Nina and Eddie must stay one step ahead of their enemies in a race to solve a mystery as ancient as civilization itself. But when a beautiful woman from Eddie's past joins the hunt, all the rules change-and in this life-and-death game, their next move may be the most dangerous one of all.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Good read, loved the action hero - Chase, ex SAS, Yorkshire man - you don't see that often in adventure thrillers!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I love these books for the fact that they don't pretend to be anything they're not. This is the follow-up to the equally silly Hunt For Atlantis. Archaeologist Dr Nina Wilde and her boyfriend, ex-SAS commando Eddie chase set off to find the tomb of the Greek legend Hercules. And yes, it is as ridiculous as it sounds, but so enjoyable and so much fun. Dastardly villans and booby-trapped tombs are dispatched by the heroic couple as they do their damndest to save the world. If Hollywood picks this series up to make into films Wilde and Chase will make Indiana Jones look like Dora the Explorer.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This was a quick read. However, the title was a bit misleading. The finding of the tomb only took a small portion of the book. The real story line had nothing to do with the tomb. However, I will continue to read the books in this series.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Not as strong as "The Hunt for Atlantis" mainly because the middle third of the book had little to do with the Hercules theme. Still, the stunts were exciting. I'm always amazed how guys like McDermott and Matthew Reilly can come up with some of these action scenes. This one sees our heroes Eddie Chase and now girlfriend Nina Wilde as members of a UN team doing research at the Atlantis site. Once again, a bad guy has big plans for some secret hidden within the vaults of a legendary figure--this time Hercules. We're also introduced to Chase's ex-wife Sophia.I still think Reilly is a better action writer than McDermott but the latter's not far off. His stories aren't quite as strong, but he's fun to read. As with Reilly, you must leave believability at the door.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A thrill a minute in a global adventure combining mythology, history, high finances, and world domination.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5if you're the sort of person that enjoys SyFy original movies, then you'll like this one but if you're not then give it a pass.
the one thing i liked were the occasional pop culture innuendos , the line "he got shot through the heart and she's to blame" freaking brilliant :)
