About this audiobook

Nativity, Missouri, is in trouble. When the small town is bypassed by the newly constructed highway, it loses its much-needed holiday traffic—threatening not only the town’s financial survival, but its very heart and soul. Outside consultant Jake Brisco threatens everything the community loves about Christmas with his budget-slashing solutions. Nothing is sacred—not even the traditional town Christmas tree. Long-time resident Roni Elliot knows some sacrifices have to be made, but can’t let go of the customs and traditions that have marked her holidays since childhood. The decorations and customary activities have always generated vitality and joy throughout the whole season in Nativity. Though their priorities and methods clash, Roni and Jake want the same thing—prosperity for the town. As the two get to know each other and become close, each begins to gain a new perspective on what the real wealth of Nativity—and the season—might be. The Christmas Lamp takes an honest look into the issues and concerns we all face and sheds light on the real origins of Christmas spirit.

A cute, short (144 page) Christmas story about a little town called Nativity, Missouri and their struggle to stay afloat financially. With the town slowly disappearing, the people will have to come together and remember the true meaning of Christmas and that money is not necessary for it.

It was a nice, quick read. I enjoyed that it wasn't overly preachy. Had the typical message of what Christmas was all about. Predictable. The characters were fairly limited and my connection to them was also limited, but not really surprising given the length of the book. I could have done without the cheesy romance that occurred. I have nothing against a little romance in book but this one left me rolling my eyes.

One of my kindle freebies. A nice little story ... not preachy at all. But the romance was a bit much. It would have worked better for me had they just started a relationship and were still getting to know each other at the end of the story instead of planning to get married after a week!

A Christmas Novella That Will Capture Your Heart! What a wonderful heartfelt Christmas read. This story will surely tug on your heart strings as it did mine.Nativity is a small town close to being non-existent due to money woes. Will this town survive and thrive once again at the expense of losing the Christmas traditions that are near and dear to the people of Nativity? As I became acquainted with each character in this book, my heart grew in fondness for each and every one. I asked myself a question, would I be as concerned with tradition as these folks were or would I push to set tradition aside in order to save my town? This is one heartwarming story that you do not want to miss. I know Christmas has come and gone but I still enjoy a good Christmas read any time of the year.I have read other books by author Lori Copeland and have enjoyed her novels. Don’t miss out on this one!

This was a classic Hallmark movie in book form. It was a quick read and put you in the Christmas spirit. Who wouldn't like this town, Nativity, Missouri, and who hasn't at one time wished for the lamp that is in "A Christmas Story". You have Jake Brisco coming into town to try and save Nativity from going broke since the new highway went in and bypassed their town. Roni Elliot needs to help him make cutbacks but it isn't fun giving up the town Christmas tree and all the traditional stuff the town does each year. But sometimes change can be good and sometimes the person you think is mean and a "ba-humbug" can turn out to have a heart after all. A classic Christmas romance story.
