About this audiobook

In this third and final Ralph S. Mouse novel from Newbery Medal–winning author Beverly Cleary, Ralph heads to school to see what humans do all day . . . and to discover what the ""S"" in Ralph S. Mouse stands for!

With his rowdy cousins constantly wearing out his motorcycle and the Mountain View Inn manager threatening to take care of the mouse infestation once and for all, Ralph decides it's time to get away for a while. He convinces his human friend Ryan to take him along to school, where Ralph instantly becomes the center of attention.

But when Ryan's class decides to see how smart Ralph is by making him run a maze, the usually confident mouse starts to fret. What if he's not as clever as he thought?

Ralph S. Mouse is perfect for independent reading or for shared reading at home or in a classroom. This fun story is the third of a trilogy, along with The Mouse and the Motorcycle and Runaway Ralph, all inspired by the author's hope to create appealing books for boys and girls—and by the sight of her son playing with toy cars.

Beverly Cleary

Beverly Cleary is one of America's most beloved authors. As a child, she struggled with reading and writing. But by third grade, after spending much time in her public library in Portland, Oregon, she found her skills had greatly improved. Before long, her school librarian was saying that she should write children's books when she grew up. Instead she became a librarian. When a young boy asked her, ""Where are the books about kids like us?"" she remembered her teacher's encouragement and was inspired to write the books she'd longed to read but couldn't find when she was younger. She based her funny stories on her own neighborhood experiences and the sort of children she knew. And so, the Klickitat Street gang was born! Mrs. Cleary's books have earned her many prestigious awards, including the American Library Association's Laura Ingalls Wilder Award, presented to her in recognition of her lasting contribution to children's literature. Dear Mr. Henshaw won the Newbery Medal, and Ramona Quimby, Age 8 and Ramona and Her Father have been named Newbery Honor Books. Her characters, including Beezus and Ramona Quimby, Henry Huggins, and Ralph, the motorcycle-riding mouse, have delighted children for generations.

This chapter book would be something that boys would like. It is about a boy and a mouse so i think boys could really enjoy it. It also has to do with a mouse riding a motorcycle and i feel like all boys would like to read something like that.

good book for the people who enjoyed Stuart Little. It is about the mouse named Ralph goes to his friend, Ryan's school to find somewhere to live.

Ralph S. Mouse is a nice break from the other young reader novels that I have been picking up for nursing time with my infant. It isn't all that consuming, and there were a few moments I found that I was at least chuckling internally.I might be a fairly strict parent when it comes to words my small children can use, but I found myself cringing as much as chuckling. While there were certainly no words that I wouldn't say in front of my grandparents, there were uses of other words that I found myself editing. Yes, Cleary grasped how children (and mice?) speak, but in a book attempting to teach lessons, words such as stupid to describe another person seemed out of place.

Ralph is a very adventures mouse. he likes to go and get new things and make new friends . Ralph can talk to humans and that is not normal, and he only can because he watches a lot of tv with kids and listens to kids problems.

I like this book far less than the previous two. This one seemed a lot less entertaining and the boys seemed a lot meaner than in the first two books. The things the boys did to Ralph were rather cruel and mean. It almost reminded me of Lord of the Flies in a sense. Was an ok read. The author's sentence structure is a bit hard to follow but maybe that's just me. All-in-all I liked the first 2 books much better than this one.

I liked the book because it was about a mouse, and I love animals. It wasn't the best book, but I enjoyed when Ryan's mother and Brad's dad got married at the end of the book. They became step-brothers.
