- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5The first book in this series was good, but a lot of pages for the simple adventure plot. This second in the series carries the style of the first, still with both parents missing. I have the feeling all future episodes in the series will have the parents still missing, even though finding their parents is the goal of the kids. This gives the reader no sense of progress. In contrast, the Rick Riordan Greek and Roman series for young adults does progress although sometimes at a tedious pace. The style is good, but the second book in this series provides no progress to the plot.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I enjoyed it more than the last one, although it was a tiny bit more didactic; like it was trying too hard to teach stuff.
