About this audiobook
DJ jets across the Atlantic to England to follow a series of obscure clues and symbols he hopes will reveal the truth about his grandfather.
In London, he stays with Doris, the elderly woman he climbed Mount Kilimanjaro with. Laid up with a broken ankle, Doris has her grandchild, Charlie, offer assistance.
Charlie - short for Charlotte - is a beautiful model who is romantically (and secretly) linked to a member of the British Royal Family.
Spies, guns, double agents, the Cambridge Five and a vintage E-Type Jag are a few of the things DJ and Charlie encounter on an adventure that makes climbing Kilimanjaro look like a walk in the park.
An Orca Book Publishers production.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Sleeper is a fun easy read. Entertaining, but predictable. A great read for any teenager.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Since I received an advance copy, I won't bother to review the whole thing in depth. I thought it was perfectly written for the young adult ages. My only complaint is that David, "the smart cousin," refused to believe that Grandpa might be a spy in spite of all the evidence laying on the table. Also, I caught a typo on Page 117 of the paperback: "There was a clicked ..." If either the author or the publisher would like a more in-depth review, please feel free to contact me.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Sleeper is a book I received from the Early Reviewer program with Librarything. This is a YA novel, so I read it with teenagers in mind. The book had a great plot line and moved quickly with little extra "stuff" to slow down the progression. Mystery, intrigue and adventure are the main focus of the story with a small romantic twist. I enjoyed the hints, foreshadowing, that was found at various points in the novel. My one regret is that the characters were not developed more throughout the story, but since it is only a short novel, that can be overlooked.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Sleeper is part of the “Between Heaven and Earth” series or “the 7 series”. This series consists of seven books. The great thing about this series it that you can read any of the seven books in any order you want to read them in! This isn’t something I’ve seen/read before. This book was a really fun read. It was short and sweet; it literally took me a few hours to finish the entire book! I thought the story line was really creative and I loved the writing style. Sleeper is about a couple of grandchildren who accidentally came across some suspicious items (like multiple passports) all belonging to one person but in different names and from different countries, and loads of money in their late-grandfathers home. Determined to find out more about why their grandfather owns all these items the grandchildren set out to different locations to try and uncover the mystery of their late-grandfathers interesting past. This particular story is in DJ McLean, one of the grandsons, point of view, as he goes to Britain determined to find out everything he possibly can about his grandfather with some help from some old friends. What I really liked about this book was how the romance in the story wasn’t distracting to the main plot. It’s very hard to find books that have romance in it but the romance is not a huge part of the entire story. What I didn't like was that there wasn't much character development in this story, but it wasn't a huge issue. All in all I was really impressed with the book and would recommend it to people who like cute, quick reads.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Action, Adventure, Mystery and Romance all rolled into one fast paced and thrilling ride you won't want to put down until the last page is read.In Sleeper by Eric Walters we are introduced (for first time readers) or re-introduced (for those who read the previous series) to David McLean and most of his cousins when they plan to spend what remains of their winter holiday at their late grandfather’s cabin somewhere in Canada. While at the cabin they discover a secret compartment filled with money, passports and a coded book. Not sure what to make of it the cousins split up each taking a different aspect of their grandfathers coded journal to try to find out who their grandfather really was. David’s adventure takes place in England. Geared towards the pre-teen/young teen male audience it is my belief this novel can be enjoyed by anyone of any age. Also having no previous knowledge of or not reading the original Seven Series didn’t affect my enjoyment of this installment of the McLean cousin’s adventures. The characters were believable and relatable, though there was very little character development in this novel for David; and it is assumed that you already know about the main character, because the previous novel is referenced several times near the beginning of this one. The plot of Sleeper seems heavily influenced by James Bond and Alex Rider while still maintaining its own unique edge. While the book was fantastic on its own it is clearly part of series as you finish it you want to know the truth about David McLean Sr. and the only way to do so is to read all of the sequels. This is a great enticement to keep reluctant readers hooked. I look forward to the release of the other novels and plan on adding them to my class library should I teach a Junior or Intermediate class.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Sleeper, by Eric Walters, takes you on a whirlwind of intrigue and travel. Featuring DJ, a young man longing to know the truth about his grandfather, it raises the question that we all could face, "What if someone you love is not the person you think they are?" The plot takes us down a road to London and into our main character's heart. The characters are believable and flavorful, especially the senile old man. (You'll have to read to find out why.) DJ’s journey to know the truth about his grandfather is just complicated enough to intrigue without being confusing. On his trip to discover his grandfather's role in espionage, you experience London through the eyes of a visitor and a resident; seeing both perspectives adds to the interest. From the Jag to the beautiful girl, DJ gets lucky over and over again. The recurring theme of people not being what they seem creates a thread throughout the story, taking some unexpected twists. This book is a great read for anybody who likes a good mystery; however, if you have a reluctant teen reader, put this book in his hands!
