About this audiobook
Whether we realize it or not, each of us was created for a great cause-and we will never be truly fulfilled until we find and pursue it. Matthew Barnett, son of a well-known megachurch pastor, discovered his great cause when he relinquished his dream of building a big, successful church like his father’s and began listening for God’s dream for his life. Sensing that God was calling him to serve the poor and powerless of Los Angeles, Matthew founded the Dream Center, a beacon of hope for homeless families, drug addicts, abused women and children, victims of human trafficking, teen runaways, gang members, and many others whose lives were filled with brokenness.
If you are hungry for a life full of passion instead of apathy; if you are ready to use your specific gifts and abilities to make a mark on the world; if you need to be reminded that God loves you and has a plan for your life-The Cause Within You is the book that can change everything. Through his own story and the stories of others whose lives have been transformed, Matthew Barnett will lead you to the cause of your lifetime.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book just really touched me, and has forever changed my life. Through the pages of this page turning book I clearly see that when God is with you and for you. It doesn't matter who is not for you or against you. When God places a vision in you everyone else will not see it. Simply because he didn't give them the vision he placed it inside of you. Thank you for writing this profound and extraordinary message Matthew Barnett.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Matthew Barnett’s The Cause Within You will reshape your life and what you are doing. So many people are not happy with what they are doing, or have thrown in the towel on life. This book will have you re-evaluating the things that you are doing and remind you that we are all called to serve other peoples needs. Once we see that we are making the first step to finding our cause. While reading this book I had the opportunity to hear Matthew Barnett speak and was blown away by the passion he has for the Dream Center and for serving the people of LA, somehow Barnett has captured that passion and turned it into a book. Barnett fills his book with sound advice on how to find your cause, and the easiest way to do that is to start serving. Find the thing that excites you and find a way to share that with others. I highly recommend this book for everyone, even if you have found your cause, this book will give you ideas on how to get through the difficult times, when you feel that your cause is getting the best of you, to refocus on God’s plan and the cause He has placed with in you and the people you are serving along the way. I also recommend reading this book alongside Max Lucado’s Cure for the Common Life I received this book complimentary from Tyndale House Publishers in exchange for an honest review. The views expressed in this review are all my own.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The Cause Within You by Matthew Barnett If you are searching for meaning and purpose to your life this book will help guide you to finding it. "Discover the cause God has for you."Matthew Barnett is cofounder with his father, Pastor Tommy Barnett of The Dream Center in Los Angeles. His father is also the senior pastor of the historical Angelus Temple. When Matthew Barnett sees someone with a need, he sets out to fill it and that includes searching for hurt people that need healing. Quote: "Tonight is the 15th Anniversary of the beginning of The Dream Center, in which we help to restore the shattered dreams and empty lives of broken people." Page 3The story unfolds by Matthew spending the night of his 15th Anniversary on the streets of Los Angeles, with the homeless community who suffer.Quote: "I'd been praying all night that the Lord would give me somebody to help, and then He delivered Annette to me." Page 26God wants us to enjoy serving others by doing what we are naturally talented at. If you have a talent that comes naturally to you God will bless it; as he did with Matthew Barnett. At the end of each chapter Matthew writes, "WHAT I'VE LEARNED." These pointers will help you to find exactly what it is that you are naturally great at doing and guide you along your path to finding it. This is book would be a great group study as it has questions at the back of the book for discussion, loaded with scriptures.Matthews other book includes "The Church That Never Sleeps." © 2011 written by Jackie Paulson
