About this audiobook
It's not easy being a Vampire Angel. No one knows that better than Trond Sigurdsson. In the centuries since he last went out drinking and wenching with his Viking buds, Trond has been a gladiator, a cowboy, a ditch digger . . . even a sheik. But now he's the baddest of them all: a Navy SEAL kicking the butts of terrorist immortals with the help of his hotter-than-Hades female partner, police officer-turned-Special Forces operative Nicole Tasso-whom Trond dearly hopes to "partner" with very shortly in a whole different way.
The "cop" part of Nicole tells her that there's something bizarre about her gorgeous, godlike teammate. But her "all-woman" side can't help wondering how great it would be to have a virile Viking in her bed. Trond has secrets galore, but Nicole feels certain she can dig them out-and really get to the heart of this powerful, unnerving stranger whom she may be risking her soul to love.
Contains mature themes.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Book two in the Deadly Angels series featuring the Sigurdsson brothers – Viking vampire angels (a/k/a vangels). This one focuses on Trond, whose main sin was sloth. He’s on a mission to save a could of Navy SEALS who are in danger of losing their souls to the Lupires (demon vampires in service to Lucifer). But he also is up against a highly suspicious WEAL (women SEALS), Nicole Tasso, who’s a former cop. This is bad on so many levels. The plot is tortured with several loose threads. Many of the situations make no sense at all. Unlike the first book in the series, I didn’t even find much to laugh about and enjoy the ride. And the sex? There’s hardly any. (Never though I’d be complaining about THAT in a review, did you?) Well, what’s there is entertaining. But I’m done with this series. (Unless I find a desperate need for another vampire book…)
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I liked this one much better than the first in the series. See my full review at puretextuality.com
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Reviewed by: RachelBook provided by: EdelweissReview originally posted at Romancing the BookThis was my first Sandra Hill book and I can promise you, that after reading this, it won’t be my last! It took me five or six chapters to get used to her writing style, but I think that’s typical when you start with a new author or series. After those few chapters, I was hooked and ignoring my husband and house cleaning for hours until it was finished.Trond was the perfect hero. At first I didn’t really care for his humor, he is of course a vangel set out to save the souls of humans but his original state was that of a Viking. He often talks like he’s from a different time and is your typical “I am man, hear me roar.” But, that very same attitude that I found irritating, quickly turned into endearing as his protectiveness of Nicole as well as his relationship with his brothers and even “Mike” showed through.Nicole was another character I didn’t plan on liking. I don’t really like the type of heroine that tries to act tough when really she’s broken inside. But Nicole didn’t try to act tough, she just was. Her life experiences with a bad marriage and terrible parents led her to her choices to join the SEALS and do admirably at it.The relationship that unfolds between the two is hilarious. Trond is constantly trying to keep himself from “”sinning”" with Nicole, even going as far as to proclaim he’s gay. She doesn’t buy it for one minute and in the end really wishes he were straight because they become friends and she realizes how much she relies on him. The witty banter and dialogue in this book is priceless. Any reader is going to get a kick out of it. Again, I think if this is your first read by this author, you need to power through the first few chapters, but I promise that in the end the book will be well worth it!I’ve bought the first in the series and can’t wait for the third book to come out.Warning: There is a lot of cursing and one graphic sex scene.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Loved the book. Trond and Nicole were great. Trond's sin was sloth/laziness which makes his current mission as a SEAL a particular punishment for him. His constant mental complaints about why things always have to be done the hard way are pretty amusing. His other problem is his conflict with Nicole the woman SEAL or WEALS as they are called. They are constantly rubbing each other the wrong way. She can't stand his laid back ways and her constant peppiness makes him crazy. But there is also an attraction there that can't be denied. As a vangel Trond is forbidden to have sex outside of marriage so his attraction to Nicole has him constantly on edge. He also has his mission to stop the demon vampires from infiltrating the SEALs and has two of them he needs to save. Nicole has her own past issues that she is trying to overcome. She left an abusive marriage and her perkiness is her method of compensating for the way she submitted to the abuse for so long. Now she feels that she has become the woman she is supposed to be. Her attraction to Trond is unwelcome as she finds his attitudes offensive, but she can't deny his physical appeal. She also trusts her instincts that say he has secrets that he is hiding. This reminds her too much of her ex-husband and she is determined to find out what they are. The more time they spend together the more their relationship changes as it moves from dislike to intrigued to attracted to love. The trust that developed was very important also. The mission that they and the other SEALs are sent on to recover some hostages is well done but ends up with Trond and Nicole sort of captured themselves. Their interactions with Zeb the demon vampire are great and I loved his part in the story. The ending was a lot of fun with St. Michael playing his part yet again. I loved seeing characters from Sandra Hill's Viking SEALs books as they played their own parts in this book. The meeting of Trond and Max was great as they recognized each other as Vikings. I also loved the wedding scene at the end. The concept of the Viking vampire angels has been a lot of fun so far. The idea of Viking angels (oxymoron for sure) fighting evil has been great as they try to do their jobs while following the rules (not what Vikings are known for). Can't wait for the rest of the series.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5When Trond woke up on his skins in 850, he had no clue that he would still be with us now. He had no clue. Period. He was lazy, uncaring and expected all to work out nicely without much input from him. Then he met Mike (aka St Michael, the Archangel) who informed him things had changed – a lot. Oh, he was still a Viking but now he was a Viking Vampire angel working for the Lord. He and his brothers who were all guilty of various sins. Thus begins the 2nd book of a new series from Avon called The Deadly Angels and if the first installment is what the rest are like, I’m hooked!Trond in our time is a Navy Seal. After the baddest of the bad, some of whom are inspired to bad deads by Lucifer and his crew. His main nemesis (aside from the Lucifer dudes) is named Nicole Tasso – a woman WEAL (girl SEAL) who distrusted him on sight and has filed many complaints with her commanding officer about him. She knows there’s something “off” but try as she might she can’t find out what. And then they’re partnered on a mission….This is a different plot than I’ve read before and the characters are believable and well done. The story line is fresh and I’m already waiting for book two Kiss of Temptation.
