Wow, this narrator Bob Newfeld (I hope I spelled it correctly as their is no writing credit in the summary area) is magnificent. The exact voice I picture narrating all classic american literature!!! I will definitely be looking for other books narrated by his wise and easy voice. He is respectdul to the literary text and not suffocating it with an overly sensual read as others have taken upon themselves, assuming listeners enjoy that sort of narration when reading an atmospheric and emotive work such as this....big mistake on their part.

The work itself is a literary classic and I highly recommend one to read or listen to it at least once in their life. Along with the second series and the other essays not included.
