Worse, she's put under his command and Xander's protective instincts go on high alert. The Dallas PD wants to add a female to the SWAT team for better PR. Since they are all werewolves, this doesn't sound like a good idea to the team. But their commander Gage has an idea. Newly turned Khaki Blake might be the perfect fit. She is eager to get away from her Washington town to get away from her harassing ex Jeremy. As a fellow cop, he has made things very hard for her. When Gage puts Khaki on Xander's team, troubles mount. Xander is immediately attracted to Khaki but the facts that he is her supervisor and that she is just getting over a workplace relationship gone wrong make this the wrong time and the wrong place. But when a werewolf meets The One, there really isn't a choice.Khaki feels the same way about Xander and is hurt when he seems to not like her. It takes a very special hostage rescue before they can own their feeling for each other. Once they do...the love scenes are spicy. Some vicious bank robbers, Khaki's pyscho ex and police department procedures mean the Xander and Khaki have lots of hurdles to jump before their romance can flourish.Fans of werewolf romances will enjoy this book which is the second in the SWAT series and be looking forward to me. I can't wait for the next one.

Nice! Back with the SWAT pack, bedeviled by HR and diversity rules - but Gage has been planning for this for a while (so he was pushed, but not a lot). Why shouldn't a woman have the same trigger as a man? Khaki Blake is great - not unrealistically perfect, but a solid character with her own thoughts and motivations. I found the thing about her and Xander's interlocking scents neat - especially with her special scent abilities. Wonder if Xander might find himself with some of those abilities himself, down the line? The keeping it a secret was...really dumb, but neither of them was really thinking clearly at that point (and that was pretty clear). Not talking about Jeremy was equally dumb, and caused at least one unnecessary death. I really expected him to be part of the bank gang, and a crooked cop; the way it actually shook out was clever. There was quite a bit of sex, but much less explicit. I found it a reasonable level - not pages and pages of every touch and quiver, there was a lot more story to this one. Hope she kept going in this direction. Next, please! (For some odd reason, the excerpt in the back is from Book 4 of the series, not 3. Don't know why.)

Dallas SWAT needs to add a female to their squad. Senior Corporal Xander Riggs has reservations about adding she-wolf Khaki Blake to his team of alpha male wolf shifters.Wolf Trouble is my new favorite Paige Tyler book. I absolutely loved this story!Xander is awesome! He is a worthy team leader. He denies his attraction to Khaki, as long as he can. I love that he is strong and well-liked by his team/pack. He fights for what he perceives is right. He had a difficult past that makes his pack all the more valuable to him.I love Khaki. She is the perfect she-wolf to add to the team. She is determined and hard working. She wants to prove herself and be as an asset to the pack. She is attracted to her team leader but thinks he hates her. Not that she would want to go there after her last experience dating a co-worker. Her ex is a piece of work. She has some interesting qualities that make her an incredible asset to the team.Paige Tyler does a phenomenal job with her character development. They are all unique and add interest to the series. Together they form the perfect team. The plot was astounding. It was full of symbolism, action, and surprises. There were multiple things going on that kept the story interesting throughout the novel. SWAT is a marvelous series for anyone who enjoys military, paranormal, shape shifters, and/or romantic suspense. It has the perfect combination of them all.Complimentary copy provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I really liked Khaki, she has a great head on her shoulders and she has no problem jumping into the line of fire to help someone out. She comes to Dallas SWAT as the only female team member and she holds her own against all of our favorite alpha wolfshifters. As for Xander, why are alpha males so darn stubborn? Uggh they drive me nuts, but they are so yummy in the long run. He, just like Mac in book 1, fights the pheromones and takes forever to realize that Khaki is "the one". Of course, they both fight the attraction until they have no choice but to jump each others bones. You can't help but love the build up to and the romance of the main characters Khaki and Xander, but I have to say that reading about ALL the wolfshifters on the SWAT team is my favorite part of this series. I love getting to know them and reading their interactions. I absolutely loved the way they all treated Khaki and made her feel at home as well as them having each other's backs no matter the circumstances. I had a great time reading WOLF TROUBLE. It had plenty of action, lots of yummy guys to think about, a great love match and plenty of danger to go around. Book 3, In the Company of Wolves, is set to release December 1, 2015 and will feature Eric and new comer Jayna.* This book was provided free of charge from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

After I read the first book I learned that it was the author's intention to slowly reveal deets about her werewolves over the course of several installments, so I fully expected the minimal world-building, and that made the lack of answers slightly less frustrating. Paige DOES explore my previous question about females in SWAT which was enough to stave off my curiosity (for now), and allow me to enjoy Khaki & Xander's story. The characters weren't as predictable as HUNGRY LIKE THE WOLF, and the romance was better. Full review to follow. ~4.5 Stars
