About this audiobook
After losing her job as a TV psychic, Lee Barrett has decided to volunteer her talents as an instructor at the Tabitha Trumbull Academy of the Arts-known as "The Tabby"-in her hometown of Salem, Massachusetts. But when the school's handyman turns up dead under seemingly inexplicable circumstances on Christmas night, Lee's clairvoyant capabilities begin bubbling to the surface once again.
The Tabby is housed in the long-vacant Trumbull's Department Store. As Lee and her intrepid students begin work on a documentary charting the store's history, they unravel a century of family secrets, deathbed whispers-and a mysterious labyrinth of tunnels hidden right below the streets of Salem. Even the witches in town are spooked, and when Lee begins seeing visions in the large black patent leather pump in her classroom, she's certain that something evil is afoot. But ghosts in the store's attic are the least of her worries with a killer on the loose . . .

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I'm really enjoying this series. It has a good mix of mystery and ghost story. The characters are fun and likable, and I'm so pleased that the main character (Lee) is not a dimwit. So many cozy mysteries make the characters just plain foolish, so I'm always thrilled when the characters are intelligent.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Tails, You Lose (Witch City Mystery, #2)by Carol J. PerryThis had an excellent story with psychic experiences, fantastic mystery from fictional history, good suspense, and more! Really liked this! Lee is an instructor for a handful of students but not all the students are who they say they are!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Not quite as good as the first book, but I enjoyed it and it held my attention. I'd have preferred a bit more time spent on the MC's "gift" but I suppose nobody can accuse her of jumping right into anything. The mystery plot was complicated with a lot of suspects and an involved back story but the author did a good job of twisting things around so I didn't solve the crime before I was supposed to. The cat continues to steal the show and I look forward to the third book.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5I liked parts of the crime story and didn't care for the supernatural parts as much as in the first book, I'll probably read one more book in the series and if it doesn't get better then I might drop it.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Another cozy jaunt with Lee, Aunt Ibby and O'Ryan the cat. The mystery involves hidden tunnels and long-lost treasure and murder. Fun, light, fast. The story starts off on Christmas and wraps up in January, so pretty much the perfect timing for this read.Side note: And it's a nitpick, yes. But who in their right mind, born and raised in Salem, MA, familiar with their winters, having already mentioned a foot of snow in the first few chapters -- buys a freaking brand new Corvette convertible?!! During winter. In Massachusetts. Apparently Lee, that's who. Sigh.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5After Lee Barrett loses her job as a late night t.v. psychic she accepts a volunteer position at the local department store turned art school. When the local handyman turns up dead having fallen through a sliding door panel in the basement, Lee & her students turn their energy towards investigating the history of the department store & its former owners...Once again Lee uses her scrying talent to work with the ghost who still resides in the penthouse rooms of the department store and finds answers & connections to a family mystery. This was a fast & easy read... some parts I just skipped over, but nothing that was important to the plot or conclusion.
