About this audiobook

Mary Whaley has her hands full running a successful catering company and overseeing her supper club. She has everything she ever wanted-or so she thought. When she meets ridiculously hot and very dirty rock star Damien Hurley at her friend's engagement party, the attraction she feels is overpowering-and she isn't about to deny herself.

Damien is used to a hard and fast life. He and two of his brothers started a band when they were fresh out of high school-then they hit the big time and stayed there. He's also a legendary madman on the stage and in the bedroom. But when he meets Mary, something clicks, and the bad boy starts thinking he may have finally found something good.

What begins as a series of fleeting trysts soon gets much more complicated. Damien can't figure out why Mary doesn't want more from him. And before long, it's Damien who wants more from Mary. But it turns out Mary is no stranger to celebrity news, and he's got a very big job ahead of him: proving that he's worth more than a one-night stand . . .

I have really enjoyed Lauren Dane's Delicious series. This one is about Mary, the caterer, and Damien a rock star. I really like Dane's characters and the intertwining with her other books.

It's been awhile since I've read any Lauren Dane, and I was not disappointed. This book was H.O.T. I really like the way she includes characters from previous stories (and now other books I will have to buy). I just feel like she really knows how to write a great story with my favorite 3 h's - heat, heart and humor.

Really good, but not that much different from the other books. When you read a lot of Lauren Dane, you'll begin to see that the stories have a tendency to repeat themselves. Despite that, the characters are always a pleasure to revisit and Mary with Damien were a hot tamale train full of sexy, hot and spicy times.

Lush is book 3 in the Delicious series which is a spin off of the Brown Sibling Series by Lauren Dane- They all tie in together. I don't think you have to read them in order but you just won't know the back stories of the couples in the book. I have only read one other book in both of these series. The sex in this book is Hot Steamy & Juicy! However it was the same thing over and over- everyone would tell Mary how great and wonderful she was and how they were leery of Damien because he was a Rock star panty chaser- not kidding over and over the same thing. Now Mary loves to cook that's her life well this book will make you appreciate food and hungry lol. There is a big fall out and even the mothers of Mary and Damien get involved. Fabulous ending.

    Quotes:

    "A lady doesn't kiss and tell. So I guess it's a good thing I'm not a lady."

"You have that look, Mary Whaley. Who got in your kitchen and mixed up the flatware?"

"He's got a magic penis. I'm powerless against it."

I adore this series. I feel like I'm sitting down with old friends whenever I pick one up.

Mary was everything I expected her to be; smart, driven, independent and on charge of her own life. That she knew her own mind and didn't let anyone - even her closest friends - push her around really made me cheer for her.

The romance was as steamy as always. A definite feel good read.

Review courtesy of Dark Faerie Tales.Quick & Dirty: Predictable story but wonderful character interactions and hot sex scenes keep this book interesting.Opening Sentence: Damien clapped his body Adrian on the back. “Thanks for the invite.”The Review:Lush, the third installment in the Delicious series follows Mary Whaley and Damien Hurley as they slowly build a relationship. The beginning of Lush picks up at the engagement party that occurred during Tart. This time it is from the perspective of both Damien and Mary, giving us a look into their thoughts during this event. Damien, who doesn’t typically like dark-haired women, is intrigued while Mary knows who he is right away and the reputation he had developed. After a brief time apart both realize they are infatuated with the other and do not deny that attraction but they both deal with their blooming relationship in different ways.Mary is a fun, smart girl who has devoted her life to cooking and making a living at it. She likes having a sexy fling with Damien but she doesn’t see their relationship going anywhere. She has a hard time looking past his bad boy, drummer façade. Damien has developed a bad reputation for being a playboy as a drummer in a famous rock band. He is extremely sexy. Damien is one bad boy that does change when he finds a woman that he can see himself with for the rest of his life but he is constantly trying to prove himself to Mary — that he is not the man portrayed in the paparazzi pictures anymore.Lauren Dane is a master at writing relationships and friendships. She can make a happy scene so emotionally charged that it will bring a tear to your eye. I love how all her characters stick together and are family. As an erotic romance, the sex scenes in Lush are quite hot. There are plenty of scenes that will have you panting for more. For the most part I enjoyed the characters in this novel but I was not surprised at all how the story played out. It was a little predictable (did I mention playboy drummer with a reputation?) so it’s not too hard to figure out the direction of the story. I am a huge fan of rock music and I love to go to concerts so that aspect of the story was fun for me. The background of Mary’s cooking was also fun, reading the different types of food she could cook up. Although, I thought it was hilarious that everyone’s favorite food was fried chicken when she made all these fancy dishes.Overall, Lauren Dane is a great writer and I would recommend reading Lush for the character interactions and the hot sex scenes. I prefer the Bound by Magick series but my first love is paranormal books even though I love me a hot sexy drummer! I do like how the Delicious series ties in with the Brown Siblings series so I can always go back and learn more about this huge cast of characters.Notable Scene:“What is it?” She examined the little box.“A present. Open it.”Inside was a little silver container and a bag.“A salt cellar!” And not just any old salt cellar, but one that would last forever and take a beating. The bag was—she paused to open it and sniff. Sassafras hit her nose first.“We were in New Orleans and went to this place that he had the best gumbo I’ve ever eaten. The owner swore it was because of their filé powder they made right there, specifically for the restaurant. I convinced her that I knew someone who would do justice to her filé if she’d sell me some. The cellar I saw at a shop in Portland yesterday. My mom actually saw it first. Just little somethings. Not a big deal.”He blushed and she felt herself fall for him a little bit. Which she knew was a bad idea, but he’d clearly done this thinking of her. Not jewelry. Not a fur coat or something like that. But a salt cellar and some filé power. It was like the best gift ever.FTC Advisory: Penguin/Berkley provided me with a copy of Lush. No goody bags, sponsorships, “material connections,” or bribes were exchanged for my review.
