    The explanation is that we usually hear only one side of the story. We're taught to think only of the negatives of fossil fuels, their risks and side effects, but not their positives-their unique ability to provide cheap, reliable energy for a world of seven billion people. And the moral significance of cheap, reliable energy is woefully underrated. Energy is our ability to improve every single aspect of life, whether economic or environmental.

    If we look at the big picture of fossil fuels compared with the alternatives, the overall impact of using fossil fuels is to make the world a far better place. We are morally obligated to use more fossil fuels for the sake of our economy and our environment.

      A rational assessment of the role of fossil fuels

      Mr. Epstein brings the same clarity and rational thinking to the issue of fossil fuels that Mr. Lomborg does to the subject of climate change

      His celebration of the use of fossil fuels compares the alternatives available today and logically identifies this form of fuel as the most efficient for the current state of technology. His conclusion flies in the face of the leftist’s propaganda that these forms of energy only bring destruction to the environment and should be prohibited

      Mr. Epstein’s argument is that we owe our quality of life to the fossil fuel industry and we should enjoy those benefits without apology.

      I could listen to Alex speaking on the topic of fossil fuels. It’s so refreshing that there are people like him and Michael Schellenberger to bring a light in the climate doomsdayers of our world.

      You should read this book just because of the mental double-take you probably have after reading the title. Epstein asks lots of questions that expose our congnitive bias against the topic.

      Thought provoking and persuasive. Well read by the author. A voice in counterbalance to the doomsaying were constantly fed. Recommended for students at all levels.
