Addie Sullivan has been raised in California with her "parents" caring for a lighthouse. Then one night a storm brings an injured man to their door and shares a secret that changes Addie's life completely. She is really a long lost child who was thought drowned many years ago. Now she has the opportunity to be reunited with her real family, the Eatons. But someone doesn't want Addie to be found. When Addie becomes a governess for young Edward she soon falls in love with his father, John. Without giving any more of the story away, I must say this story had me guessing most of the way through as to who wanted Addie out of the way and who truly was glad to have Addie in the family. It was a really good mystery with some lovely romance thrown in also. I loved Addie and how she just said what she felt and didn't try to put on airs or act a certain way because society expected it of her. She was a great character in the story. I also loved her dog, Gideon!!

Very romantic and wonderfully engaging story with a dreamy hero and strong heroine. I loved the romance. This was not a one kiss at the end book. And the mystery element was great!

Addie Sullivan is content with her life at the lighthouse. She misses her father who is deceased and has a strained relationship with her mother. One day a wounded fellow shows up at the lighthouse. As Addie tends his wounds he spots her locket and realizes exactly who she is. Julia Eaton, the missing daughter of Henry and Laura Eaton. He insists that she return to the Eaton Estate with him to act as a governess to his nephew Edward while he tries to convince Henry that Addie is really Julia. When she arrives at the Eaton Estate she meets John North (Edward's father). They are immediately attracted to one another. Then there's an attempt made on her life and she finds some secret messages that lead her on a merry chase that doesn't let up until the end of the book.I thoroughly enjoyed this intriguing tale. The cover of the book is beautiful and made me want to seek the adventure inside! The characters in the story came across as very real to me. I loved Addie's personality. She was a no nonsense kinda gal who clung to her faith. But what will happen when that faith is tested? John was a great hero. He was kind, gentle and loved his son. There was a very real chemistry between him and Addie. The whole mystery surrounding the story was great and you really don't figure it out until the very end, which I love. If you like romance, mystery and suspense you will love this story.
