But all the tabloid stories about his sexual escapades make her feel oh so inadequate.Determined to prove she's woman enough for Jesse, Kimber turns to bodyguard Deke Trenton for sexual education. Bold and brash, Deke warns Kimber that playing with him is playing with fire. But he can't bear to imagine the innocent beauty in someone else's arms. So Deke and his super sexy cousin, Luc, take Kimber under their wings and dangerously close to the edge of ecstasy. The book as a whole is good. I enjoyed the hot steamy pleasures of Kimber. I didnt however like the eyerolls that happened when the characters said some lines. Sime predictable. Others were too sweet. I love romance wish the book had been cut down a bit. Glad for the ending. Sad for Luke.

This was another one whch I decided to read pretty much immediately after the initial dip into the pond of this series. It was more than a bit frustrating in some ways that things could get smooth so quickly. Then again, it's all fiction and that's why I read this stuff.

I can't believe it. I hadn't thought it possible to write a more erotic story than Wicked Ties, but Shayla Black proved me deliciously wrong. Black has quickly one of my favorite authors, and I will read anything and everything she writes or recommends. hot! Hot!! HOT!!!

    Amazing!
I started this book thinking that I was just going to get some hot sex
scenes without any actual plot in it, but boy was I wrong! There was
plenty of some of the most hot and steamy sex scenes that I have ever
read here, but there was also the story of two people, maybe three, that
was deep and made me want to cry and throw my Kindle at the nearest
wall such was my frustration with the characters. A very compelling
story with some very compelling characters.

First let me say that through most of this book I wanted to take Deke Trenton out and use a flogger on his ass, more than once. I have a weak spot of tragic heroes but the guilt this man is carrying around is enough to drown a horse. He has let the death of his first girlfriend shape his entire life. He has also used his cousin and best friend as a safety blanket to keep from having to feel anything of the women that they have shared. It doesn't help that Luc Traverson isn't much better. He is hiding a secret that only complicates matters when everything blows up. This whole story is a Greek Tragedy from the very beginning.Second we have Kimber Edgington. She thinks that she can learn all she needs to know about ménages and still keep her virginity. She propositions Deke and Luc to help with her education and then get upset because Deke isn't emotionally involved, he is but he fights his feeling tooth and nail. Kimber thinks that she is in love with a pop rock star Jesse McCall. She is hard headed and deaf to Deke when he tries to make her see that Jesse is just a crush. I understand some of Kimber's stubbornness she was raised without a Mother by a military father and two Navy SEALs as brothers. Another part of Kimber’s problems is that she is a tomboy, still, and she has been teased enough to have a confidence problem with her femininity. I did like Kimber for the most part. She is strong, intelligent and compassionate. She is also understanding and caring to a fault at times.Luc Traverson is a successful chef and restaurant owner. He is smart, caring and gentle most of the time. He does have bouts of extreme sexual behavior that shame him. I am hoping that we learn why in the next book. Some of his secrets are revealed in this story and therefore they can’t be revealed in this review. I did like Luc. He is the peace maker in this ménage. He is the one that wants a permanent ménage relationship. He like Kimber a lot but never really loves her. There is one scene that hints at who his HEA is in this story. It will be interesting to see how that relationship works out.I was glad that everything worked out for all the characters. The villain in this piece is a greedy, power hungry man that can’t see that things aren't what they seem. He causes quite a bit of hurt and destruction before he is caught. It was a little bit of a surprise when his identity is revealed. We are also introduced to Kimber's brothers Hunter and Logan. I am hoping that there will be books for these two men that she thinks of as fire and ice. Finally this book is smoking hot. It will scorch your fingers every time these three, Deke, Luc and Kimber, get together. There is no male on male sex in this book. There is a little bondage and some play with toys but no real Domination and submission.

Decadent was Shayla Black’s #2 book in her Wicked Lovers series. After finishing Wicked Ties I was more than eager to start on book 2. About the book (Cover):Two men are better than one…How can a virgin seeking happily-ever-after with a hot pop star who has a penchant for threesomes win her fantasy man? Kimber Edgington desperately needs a plan to convince Jesse McCall, who’s been her friend and secret crush since they spent a summer together as teenagers, that they are meant for each other. But all the tabloid stories about his sexual escapades make her feel oh-so inadequate.Determined to prove she’s woman enough for Jesse, Kimber turns to bodyguard Deke Trenton for sexual education. Bold and brash, Deke warns Kimber that playing with him is playing with fire. But he can’t bear to imagine the innocent beauty in someone else’s arms. So Deke and his super-sexy friend, Luc, take Kimber under their wings and dangerously close to the edge of ecstasy. Though she’s saved herself for Jesse, Kimber soon learns, he’s not the man adept at stoking her aching, endless need. That’s Deke, and he can’t resist when Kimber begs for more–and more…Review:Okay, so where to start?! This book definitely lived up to it’s expectations. Now while Wicked Ties in my book (love Jack) was much more to my liking, Decadent didn’t fail to disappoint. My only hang up in this book was the heroine Kimber. At first, I just didn’t get the whole “I’m in love with a guy who lives the menage lifestyle and so I need some training in the menage lifestyle so I can show the guy I am in love with that we are meant to be together.” The man she is supposedly in love with is Jesse, a rock star, and her relationship with Jesse is best characterized as pen pals. This just struck me as odd and while I kept an open mind about this situation to get into the book, I feel as though it was so the wrong message. Kimber and Deke of course have chemistry, which they both try to fight, from the start. Luc isn’t too shabby either. *grins* There is quite a backstory with Deke and Kimber where he was infatuated with her as an teen and had to eventually push her away due to that fact and the fact that her father was his boss! Well now…Kimber is a grown woman and Deke, still fighting his attraction is basically talked into doing the ménage with her for one week of “training” by his cousin, Luc. If this setup isn’t bad enough, Kimber is a VIRGIN and she wants to maintain her virginity for her rocker boyfriend who is into menages. So while Deke chooses to fulfill her favor of being introduced to the menage lifestyle, he must do it without breaking the hymenal barrier. *falls off the couch laughing at that thought* As an aside, it’s really special that in this threesome, one of the guys is dark and one is tawny haired. I think that there must be some rule that threesomes involve two different looking guys – one light and one dark. Maybe a guy’s fantasy is that the two women look the same – you know, like twins – but women’s fantasies are way evolved and include two DIFFERENT looking guys. The ending of the book will of course knock your socks off and as always Ms. Black does NOT disappoint with the action and mystery involved in this book.Out of it all, would have to give this 4 out of 5 stars for a good read.

I'm not sure what the best way is for me to talk about this book. I'm no prude--I read romance and erotica, and I like my fair share of both--but I found myself practically laughing throughout this book. There was just something about the main female character, Kimber, that was so unattractively damsel-in-distress-ish that I didn't care at all what happened to her. The two males, Luc and Deke, I found to be too similar and unrealistically MALE. Fine enough if you like wish fulfillment and dream-come-true romantic endings, but I was ambivalent at the end of this.

A very sexy and spicy book, yes, but overall this is one of those books in which the potential is better than the actuality. The two main characters, Kimber and Deke, are very irritating. She's a love-sick ninny just asking to be taken for granted. He's a melodramatic jerk lacking coping skills. His whole issue about pregnancy just never worked for me; he came across as a ridiculous prima donna. The most interesting character was Luc, and I wish he'd gotten more "screen" time than he did. Also, the plot didn't exactly come together. The relationship angle between Kimber, Deke, and Luc was pretty solid, but the suspense aspect of someone being after Kimber felt like it was tossed in to create dramatic situations. It didn't really connect with the larger story of the happy threesome.

Review for "Decadent" by Shayla BlackKimber wants to be pop star Jesse's dream girl. To do this she thinks she needs to leave her innocences behind. Kimber asks Deke and Luc to be her quide in the world of kinky sex. I loved the first half of the book, then it was all crying, guilt and painful secrets. I loved the bloom of Kimber, Deke and Luc's relationship in the beginning. The bounderies came down. For a few moments they seemed complete. Then jealousy and expectations tore it asunder. I hate reality.

Keep a cold drink handy for this hot read. Ms Black does an excellent job of developing the characters and crafting a story about the complexity of relationships not just great sex. Decadent was a pleasure to read.

**Courtesy of CK2S Kwips & Kritiques**Virginal Kimber Edgington needs some rather unorthodox lessons fast – in the art of ménage á trois! She is determined to prove to her long-time friend and crush Jesse that she can handle his rock-star lifestyle and sexual eccentricities and be the woman he needs. Who better to ask for help than a man known for his preference to share his women with other men? Never mind that she and Deke never quite got along when he worked for her father while she was in her teens. With Deke’s cousin, the delicious Luc Traverson, rounding out the threesome, she figures she can handle anything Deke throws at her during her ‘training’ – especially when the sexy chef makes it clear he is more than willing to accommodate her needs, with or without Deke’s help…Bodyguard Deke Trenton could barely stand to be around Kimber when she was a teen-ager. It wasn’t that he didn’t like her – he liked her TOO much! But she was jailbait for him and he knew it, prompting him to leave her father’s employ before he found himself in more trouble than he knew what to do with. Finding her literally on his doorstep all these years later was unexpected enough, but he never could have imagined the grown-up Kimber would come asking him to introduce her into the world of threesomes! His body is more than willing to teach her everything she wants and more, but once he has a taste of her considerable charms, his heart can’t seem to accept the idea of letting her go when her tutoring is finished even though his mind fights these new feelings every step of the way…When an unseen menace threatens Kimber’s life, Deke and Luc pull out all the stops to keep her safe and under their wing – and none of their lives will ever be the same again!Fans of Shayla Black’s book Wicked Ties will be high as a kite when they finally get their hands on their very own copy of its sequel, Decadent, in October 2007! There is not a single person I have spoken with who has read Wicked Ties and done anything but loved it and I know the same will be true of this follow-up story. We initially met one of our lead characters, Deke Trenton, in the first book when he helped Jack and Morgan, going above and beyond the call of duty… LOL! Black whets our appetite but good for more of this rogue’s story, and she has not disappointed her readers with Decadent. While intriguing and mischievous before, Deke turns out to be a very complex character for whom nothing is superfluous – there are reasons for everything he is today, and unraveling his multi-layered psyche proves as fascinating as his numerous sexual exploits… Completely Alpha, brash, confused, and wonderfully (dare I say it?) Decadent, Deke takes us on the ride of our lives as he struggles to come to grips with what he thinks he wants and what his heart demands. Deke is all at once maddening, sexy and frustrating as all get out, but regardless of how mad he makes you sometimes, you can’t help but love him. Fighting himself is difficult enough, but fighting Kimber proves impossible – especially when his cousin Luc aligns his loyalties with her in the battle for Deke’s love. Deke has more than met his match in heroine Kimber Edgington! Raised by three military men – her father and two older brothers, she can take just about anything Deke can dish out. She has handled men like him her entire life, and refuses to be dissuaded by his reluctance to become involved with her. Of course, she has a bit of her own personal confusion to work through first – namely her relationship with the wayward rock star, Jesse. Having set her sights on a goal, Kimber attacks her mission in a very military fashion – with single-minded focus, and doesn’t realize the end game has changed until it is too late… Or is it?Luc Traverson balances out the ménage nicely with his smooth demeanor, maneuvering Kimber and Deke deftly, with benefit to all concerned. He provides the glue that binds the trio together, albeit precariously, but are his machinations purely altruistic, or is there more to Luc than meets the eye? Sensitive readers should be warned: this book is smoldering hot, and contains numerous ménage á trois scenes, all M/F/M (no M/M is in this book). Of course, that is a selling point for many of us! LOL I have to say, both Wicked Ties and Decadent are enough to make you curious about things you have never been curious about before, but the two together – WOW! I am almost thankful for the wait between the two books’ releases – I’m afraid I’d have had a nuclear meltdown if I had read them back to back! Who am I kidding? If they’d both been released before I’d read the first, I wouldn’t have stopped reading until I finished them both.Avid fans of this author know that she writes as both Shelley Bradley and Shayla Black, publishing her spicier novels under the Shayla Black moniker. No matter which pen name she is using, this author can always be relied on to spin a fascinating story with fully-fleshed characters that engage the reader from page one, and keep you turning the page until you finish the book! I know this book, like her others, kept me up way too late on a work night, but once I started it I knew I could never sleep until the story ended! I look forward to many more stories in this series – between the first two books alone, there are at least four or five characters I would dearly love to see books for – and I have no doubt that each new book will spawn longing for still more!Brimming with the most tantalizing love scenes and two undeniably mouth-watering heroes, Decadent is undoubtedly one of the hottest books this year! But underneath it all, Shayla Black has nestled one of the most touching stories of romantic love you will read this year. Decadent will sweep you up and run you through a gamut of emotions - frustration, desire, fear, love, and more – until it finally leaves you ultimately satisfied.
