Again an exciting book. Garrett had a big problem with his conscience because he had to hide things from Sarah and she had her doubts about her brother, but in the end I think she forgot and forgave a little bit too easy. Also, it is a little bit similar to the 2nd one in this series. Still, a very enjoyable read.

Disappointing - was expecting more from Garrett's book as he is my favorite Kelly brother.

The story gets off to a slow start and the domesticity of the interminable island scenes soon begins to grate on the nerves. Thankfully the pace eventually picks up once the suspense plot gains momentum.

Speaking of which, there are three separate suspense storylines and none are sufficiently developed or resolved satisfactorily. Although the main villain is a traitor and criminal he comes across as quite sympathetic and I appreciated his family loyalty. The secondary villain is a real scumbag and while he does get his just deserts, it occurs off page leaving the reader dissatisfied. The final thread is completely irrelevant and left me scratching my head in confusion and thinking where the hell did that come from.

The romance is the strongest element in the book. Sarah overcomes a terrible ordeal but shows that she is a true survivor Yes, she has her moments of fear and insecurity but never allows them to weaken her resolve. Garrett is so sexy, patient and understanding with her that it makes me almost forget that he is keeping secrets and lying (a trope that I dislike intensely). Nevertheless, they have a sweet and emotional bond that makes it all worthwhile.

The secondary characters are also entertaining, especially Rusty and Sean as well as Rio and Steele (who is particularly intriguing).

Nathan's story is next and it sounds really good.

A good, exciting, action packed, steamy story that tackled personal trauma and trust issues in a relationship. I do like the closeness of the family in this series. Sarah goes into hiding because she witnessed a murder by her brother and Garrett is sent undercover to watch her and hopefully lure in the enemy, her brother.

Oh. My. God! Loved it! I love how there's almost no sex in these book, but there's always the chance of it which just makes the whole thing that much more interesting to read. The plots are always very good and the characters are just amazing as a whole!

I liked these characters a great deal and Maya Banks can always be relied upon for good romantic suspense. I was laid up with a virus and this proved to be an excellent companion -- took my mind right off my aches and pains and did not tax my fever addled brain.

Maya Banks is getting better and better with each passing book :)I love Garrett and is way of dealing with things, especially with chocolate and the nums nums :) And I adored him when he had to take the lead when Sophie is in labor. Adorable! Also, I found the heroine, Sarah, a mix of innocence and strength that added with her loyalty makes her a charming character. So far, for me, this is the best book from the KGI series.

Hidden Away, released on March 1, 2011.This book is about Garrett Kelly and the CIA wants him to get close to Sarah. Her half brother wants to find her and he's had a run in with Garrett.Another KGI book, action, adventure military style. She's in hiding and it's for her life-she has seen too much...Sophie is about to give birth, she loves family time and cooking.Garrett is recovering from steping in front of the bullet meant for Sofie. Hot steamy sex scenes.Story follows Sarah as she's on the run...Love catching up with the others in the family and what's going on with them. When she has no choice and runs Garrett uses his resources to find her and convince her they need to go elsewhere to stay safe. Love that location also!I received this book from National Library Service for my BARD (Braille Audio Reading Device).

This is the third book in the KGI series and it is very good. It grabs your attention right away and you won't want to put it down. There are multiple lot lines running through the story and all are resolved satisfactorily. Highly recommend for romantic suspense book lovers.

I'd read some less than stellar reviews on this book so I wasn't really looking forward to reading it, but after I got started reading, I had a hard time putting it down... as in I was reading on my lunch break and looked at the clock and was 10 minutes late. There are some things that I wish Maya had done a little different in the book and I wish it had been about 20 pages longer, I do think that Garrett should have had to done more in the end to get forgiveness, but overall I enjoyed the book.

I am having a hard time picking a favorite out of this series. I have loved all the books so far and can't wait for the other three brothers and any of the team members Ms Banks wishes to write stories for. I really enjoyed what the four brothers did for Rusty at the end of the book. I also really like Sarah and the way she fought to have a normal life after what happened to her. I have liked Garret since the first book and I was glad to see he found someone that would understand him and make him happy. I have a real soft spot for all the Kelly men as well as for Rio and Steele. These are well written books with a good plot, characters and the ongoing saga of the Kelly's. I don't like having to wait to find out what happened to Joe and Nathan, especially since it is going to be 2012 before the next book comes out.

Where’s the suspense? I didn’t like this one anywhere near as much as I wanted to – and I’d thought that out of all the KGI books this was going to be my favourite. I love Garrett, and fully expected this to be a five star read for me. I tried to cling to that hope even as I found myself completely bored for most of the book...even as I found the characters bland...even as I started to resent all the past and future heroes and heroines for stealing all the page time... Call me crazy, but when you market your book as romantic suspense, and stick a huge guy with a gun on the cover, I expect suspense. Not a family story featuring ‘amusing’ chapters about the pregnancy of the heroine of the last book (not only irrelevant to the plot, but those endless jokes were also irritating), and more time devoted to the bratty teenager Rusty (a character the author has said is not going to end up with any of the Kelly brothers, so I wonder at her consistently huge role in all of the books). The heroine, Sarah, was an afterthought for much of the story. I wanted more for my favourite Kelly brother! And what’s with the characters taking a shower or bath every chapter?! The first fifty percent of Hidden Away is boring. I was surprised how boring; even when I don’t like a Maya Banks book, in the past at least it’s held my attention and made me want to keep reading. But this one was so slow in the setup I found I kept putting it down and thinking about reading something else. We had endless chapters about Garrett going to the supermarket, Sarah buying books, Garrett fishing, Sarah going to the supermarket. I plodded on through waiting for the plot to arrive (the one I’d expected to include bad guys and guns!), but it was slow to get there. The story was all over the place. Garrett Kelly works for his family’s company. They’re all ex-military, and they’re all hired out for various rescue missions and such. Garrett is sent to keep an eye on Sarah Daniels, a woman whose half-brother is caught up in all kinds of bad stuff. But from there nothing much happens. We spend chapter after chapter on side stories featuring other characters – completely unconnected to the plot, and only of interest to you if you have read the other books and particularly liked those people. Sarah and Garrett have a bit of beach holiday, and then Garrett goes to Tennessee, and then both of them go to Mexico, and then both of them go to Belize. There’s no actual danger coming from the bad guys. In fact I pretty much forgot what the book was supposed to be about. Banks didn’t seem especially interested in writing the story the blurb told us we were getting, and therefore the ‘suspense’ was so bland that it became almost irrelevant to the book. When the action does arrive two-thirds of the way through it’s completely unrelated to the original danger Sarah was supposed to be in. Then, suddenly, after we’ve hardly spent any time with Sarah, we’re told she loves Garrett. Huh? When did that happen? Maybe when we spent all that page time with Sophie having her baby. Perhaps in that chapter we caught up with how Ethan and Rachel’s marriage was going. Or was it when we went off on that huge tangent about Rusty? Or during one of our many visits into Donovan Kelly’s domain? There was a whole lot going on in this book, sure, but none of it was relevant to: "Garrett doesn’t know exactly who, or what, Sarah’s running from, but whatever it is, she’s running for her life…" which the blurb informed us we’d be reading about. Banks’ problem with suspense in general seems to be that she’s not comfortable writing it alongside a relationship. They’re hanging out in a safe house for all those pages for what? Who’s dealing with the threat? What’s the plan? You shouldn’t forget these things just because it’s 80% of the way through the book and your characters still haven’t had sex. For me the difference between the best suspense and this series is that here the relationship development does not weave through the action. Instead we have one or the other, and everything comes to a complete standstill whenever we’re learning about the characters. For the most part in Hidden Away you’re not even going to remember the characters are supposedly in danger. There’re too many characters too. Yes, they were also in the first two books, but here I really felt their intrusion. We’re being sequel-baited and then sequel-baited some more. Not only are there all the Kelly family members to deal with (six brothers, two wives, a baby, two parents, and two ‘adopted’ siblings), but then we also have all the other KGI members (Cole, Steele. P.J., Rio, Terrence etcetera) and all their issues. Being swamped in that many characters leaves very little time for the main story to go anywhere much. If you want to update us on other characters, give them a paragraph or two, not multiple chapters! There were a whole lot of editing errors too - wrong words, and even the wrong character's name used at one point. Though the plot does pick up towards the end, it was too little too late. If I wasn’t already invested in this series, I can’t say I would have kept reading long enough to get to the good stuff. The author didn’t seem particularly committed to the suspense aspect of this instalment, and so to throw all the action at us along with the kitchen sink so late in the game felt like nothing more than compensation for a slow beginning. I still maintain that I love Garrett Kelly, and because of that I can’t tell you just how disappointed I was in his slow, meandering book.
