About this audiobook
His name is Luc, and he's as gorgeous as any Prince Charming in any bedtime story. There's just one problem: He's not human, he's fae. A captain of the Fae Queen's Guard, Luc is on a dangerous mission-and he could use the help of a certain leprechaun-hunting reporter. But when their two worlds collide, the sparks begin to fly. If Corinne and Luc can't control their lust-and focus on the villains in this story-their faerie-tale romance won't end happily ever after...

Christine Warren is the New York Times bestselling author of The Others series, including Wolf at the Door, Big Bad Wolf, Born to Be Wild, Prince Charming Doesn’t Live Here, and Black Magic Woman. Born and raised in coastal New England, she now lives as a transplant in the Pacific Northwest. (She completely bypassed those states in the middle due to her phobia of being landlocked). When not writing, she enjoys horseback riding, playing with her pets, identifying dogs from photos of their underbellies, concocting all sorts of yummies (both liquid and solid), and, most of all, reading things someone else had to agonize over.

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5There is interesting play between the two main characters and good background on the rest of them.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Quite frankly, I don't know why I finished this, it was so bad. I will never read another Christine Warren book again. The prose was was awkward -- not a smooth reading experience but that was not the worst. 50 percent of the book was made up of sex scenes. I don't mind a book with a few sex scenes, e.g., Nora Roberts, but here it takes the place of plot and characterization. I gave this book 1 1/2 stars instead of one because I did end up finishing it. About a third of the way through I was going to give up. Now I wish I had instead of wasting my reading time. I'm usually very careful about picking what I'm going to read. At least this was a library book and not one I purchased.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This is a re-write of one of the original stories from Ellora's Cave. The hero and heroine of this story are Lucifer "Luc" Macanaw and Corinne D'Alessandro. I am thinking that I like the older stories more than the newer ones. The characters didn't take so long to get together in the originals. Anyway I like the story mostly because it gives the reader a glimpse into the Summer Court of Faerie. I liked Luc, as I have with most of the male characters, he is all alpha male and caring mate at once. I liked the twist in the plot about who the bad guys was and how everyone came together to catch the crazy Other. There is a enough humor to keep the story from dragging and enough suspense to keep it from being to draggy. The overall story is a good addition to the paranormal genre and fans should enjoy it.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The New York Chronicle isn't exactly a scandal rag, but it's not the New York Times, either. Still, reporter Corinne D'Alessandro is definitely not happy about her latest assignment: track down a six-foot tall, gorgeous elf who's been spotted walking through walls in Manhattan. Her two best friends may have married Others, but Corinne's sworn off inter-species dating, so tracking the hottest man on two feet has absolutely no appeal. Still, she figures she'd better notify the powers-that-be before she writes her story...The captain of the Queen Mab's guard is about as pleased to be sent after the her straying nephew as Corinne is about her latest assignment. At least that is, until he spots Corinne.Of course there's a HEA in their future, and the plot's fairly thin but the snarky exchanges between Luc and Corinne are well worth the read.
