About this audiobook
On a mission to rescue his runaway sister from the lure of flowery compliments and a useless lot of satin-clad scalawags disguised by their snooty titles, Ranulf MacLawry, Marquis of Glengask, has roared into British society like a storm across the Highlands. But he's about to find out that satin has its appeal, especially when it covers the curves of Miss Lady Charlotte Hanover-whose tongue is as sharp as her skin is soft . . .
Lady Charlotte Hanover has had her fill of hot-headed men, having lost her fiance in an utterly unnecessary duel. When did brawn ever triumph over brains? And yet there is something solid and appealing about the brash Highlander who's as dangerous in the ballroom as in battle. Sometimes bigger really is better . . .

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I was really irritated by this book. It really feels like the Hero gives up most of his opinions and values to appease his spoiled sister and the heroine.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5From the way her family swept up to her and the fast beating of her own heart, anyone would think she had just faced down the devil himself. But then she just had, really. This book was a little bit more than just a romance book, it also had a little bit of mystery and some danger thrown in. Unfortunately I felt like the romance really outshined the mystery and danger. Honestly I really didn't care much about the main mystery and the danger and fights weren't all that great. What I absolutely loved about this book was the chemistry and banter between Ranulf and Charlotte. I loved how right from the beginning Charlotte stood up to Ranulf even when no one else would. It was pure magic when the two of them were together.I felt like the ending wasn't as good as it could have been. It almost felt like the author had run out of pages. I did enjoy where Ranulf and Charlotte's relationship was at the end though. I really look forward to reading to reading more of this series.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Slightly ridiculous, but thoroughly enjoyable.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5This book was fun! A dark, violent, protective man versus the outspoken, civilized, city girl. Together they are better than being apart. And while she tries to change his brash ways, she comes to realize that strengths come in all different sorts of packages and that while violence may not be the answer to everything her dark highlander uses it with the precision most people lack. And that she has a larger backbone and sense of adventure than she thought. While this book was entertaining and well thought out, I believe I would have liked an epilogue to round out the ending. While perfect for the book it was a bit abrupt. It was still satisfying an ending though, so don't discount it.
