Same formula she’s used in so many prior books. Man and woman know each other—and if it’s not the first book in the series they already knew each other. One of them does their best to not succumb, and once they do, can’t bring themselves to believe they’d be anything but a burden. Lots of lust and well-written sex scenes. A major threat and waiting until the very end before each finding out how the other feels.Okay with that said, they do know each other. Yvette had always had a crush on Cannon as a teen but when things got bad and he was part of the group that saved her and her grandfather (Dash of Peril), she felt she had to leave, not wanting to be seen as nothing but a victim. She comes back three years later when her grandfather dies. Cannon is just off a major MMA fight when he’s requested to meet with a lawyer who tells him he and Yvette are splitting everything her grandfather left. Cannon hated to see her go three years ago and has never forgotten how he felt about her.Welcome to the world of MMA fighters, many who hang around the rec center started by Cannon as a way to get kids off the street and away from gangs. They’re a great group of guys as are the women we meet that will most likely team up with a few. The guys are ripped, honorable, protective and very aware of women. And we see a number of characters from the Love Undercover series. I expect we’ll be seeing at least Rowdy in more books.A few things the author does really well. The first is the characters; it’s what has me coming back, especially when once met in a series, they play a part in each of the next books in that series, making them feel like family. The second is how easy it is to get turned on just by the guy’s dialogue, saying what he wants to do. The third is how attentive the guy is to not only to the woman’s physical needs, but her emotional and mental ones as well. Who wouldn’t like a guy like the heroes Foster creates. And Cannon is no exception. You’ve got to like Yvette. Yeah, she’s got some issues—most of the women in Foster’s books have something to overcome—but even a most embarrassing scene has her laughing instead of crying. I don’t like to read a lot of explicit sex, that’s one complaint I have about these books and often skim through those sections. But what I have read is done well as the reader can be sucked into the scene and not just a voyeur.

NO LIMITS was an excellent romantic suspense title. Since reading and earlier book by Foster, I have been curious about Cannon Colter. I am so glad that this is his story. He and Yvette Sweeney had a very brief encounter after he helped save her and her grandfather when they were attacked by pornographers who wanted to use Yvette in one of their smutty films. But she was too young; he was just getting started on his career as a martial artist. It was the wrong time for both of them. Now about three years have passed and they are thrown together again by Yvette's grandfather's will. The grandfather left Cannon a letter asking him to persuade Yvette to come back home. Cannon is more than willing to comply. He hasn't gotten over her. She's old enough now and he is well set in his career. The only problem is the Yvette is still struggling to get over the attack on her and her grandfather. She feels that if she isn't calm and in control everyone will still pity her. She doesn't want to draw attention to herself. And she can't believe that the famous Cannon Colter would actually have anything to do with her. He is so hot that every woman wants him and she has some sexual issues as a result of the home invasion. To add even more excitement, she is being harassed by an old boyfriend who has followed her back home from California.I loved both Cannon and Yvette and thought they made an excellent couple. I also liked Cannon's circle of friends and can see lots more romances coming out that MMA gym. I'll be eager to read all of them.

Cannon from Getting Rowdy, and Yvette from Dash of Peril both from the Love Undercover series are making their own stand in No Limits. Not to worry if you have not read either of the prior books. The author does a good job of giving their history together. I have watched a few MMA fights before. I can't say that it is my sport but reading this book does make the idea of MMA fighting cool and sexy. The chemistry between Cannon and Yvette was good. Just what I would expect from a romance novel. Only it seems that Lori knows how to turn up the amp on the hotnessess when it comes to the couples. Although there can be as much spice as you want to add to the mix but if the characters are not as engaging than it does not matter. This is what happened to me. Cannon was fine but Yvette not so much. Yvette was not very memorable. While Cannon was cool, he could not hold the whole story for me. In fact, this book overallw as just alright. It was nothing really new. Boy and Girl were together, they broke up, get reunited, don't want to admit that they will end up together again, in the end they do.

Good start to the Ultimate series. Definitely a hot read. Cannon Colter is a great hero - alpha, kindhearted, protective, PATIENT. Thank the gods he is also patient because Yvette becomes a broken record with her insecurities and whining about how she's just in everyone's way. Twenty chapters in and she's still apologizing for taking up space. Just roll your eyes and move along.Armie took my heart in this one - can't wait to read his story!

Smoking hot, alpha male, MMA fighter by the name of Cannon Colter? Yes, please! When Cannon comes back home to find things willed to him jointly with Yvette, it's all the push he needs to accept she is special to him. Even though, to our reading pleasure, it's going to take some time to convince her, he is willing to wait and do what he can to prove they are good together. And when Yvette finds herself in danger, he definitely isn't going to run away...I really enjoyed this book. The story may have been a predictable but it was still a fun read. Romance, steam, mystery...it's all there. And all the other characters have been hooked too! We get hints of a few things to come possibly in future books so I can't wait for more to come on in this series!! (Here's to hoping we get Cannon's sister's story is next!)I received this book in exchange for an honest book review from Netgalley.

This was my first Lori Foster book. I noticed it was about a hot MMA fighter and was like "I'm in!" Having learned this is a spin-off series from her Love Undercover series, I was left just a little disappointed. Sometimes while reading someone would be mentioned and I didn't know who the were, but after finding out it is a spin-off I figured they came from that series. It says it's a new series but this isn't the first time these two have shown up in a book together. Had I known that, I would have read the other series first. Then I probably would have enjoyed this book more. However, I do love the characters from this book. Cannon is great. You would think being a big, strong fighter that he might be a little egotistical, rude, or just plain mean, but he is in fact quite opposite. That's a nice change from the norm. All his MMA buddies are cool too. They are like their own tight knit little family unit. I think everyone who has read this book takes a liking to Armie because he seems to be Cannon's right hand man. So he is mentioned a lot, and very easy to like. Yvette gave me mixed feelings. I understand she went through something highly traumatic; So I was very understanding when she tried to hide her emotions and portray herself as a strong person even though she felt like anything but on the inside. Eventually though, she just seemed so clueless and a bit annoying when she continually tried to seem strong in situations where others understood that she didn't have to been strong and they only wanted to help her. The ending was alright. It had an interesting twist, but I feel like the conflict was resolved rather quickly. I wish it could have been played out a little more. I also would have liked to see more instances when Yvette was more open and honest with Cannon. But it was good nonetheless. Like I said, I did enjoy the rest of the characters, so I will be keeping an eye out for the next book. First I think I will go and read the Love Undercover books, then reread this book to see if I enjoy it a bit more.

“I can’t stop picturing you without the shirt and shorts.” His blunt admission left her blank. “Naked in running shoes?” His mouth quirked. “Okay, you can maybe lose the shoes, too.”I have been very stressed out lately and have been in need of something to take my mind off of my worries. This book was the perfect thing for my mind right now. This book was light years better than the novella that started the series. The characters were much more compelling and the story was richer. Quite frankly I just couldn't get enough of Cannon. Cannon and Yvette have a somewhat difficult past. When Yvette comes back to town after her grandfather's death she finds herself thrown together with Cannon when her grandfather leaves both her and Cannon an inheritance. Yvette used to follow Cannon around with puppy love until some pretty dark things happened and she left town to get away from everything (especially Cannon). Now that she is back in town Cannon realizes that he can't let Yvette get out of his life again.I liked that while Cannon and Yvette shared a history they still had to go through the process of building a relationship. Reading about their past was horrifying and it really explaining why Yvette was the way she was. Cannon could be a little aggressive in his quest to seduce Yvette but you could definitely tell that he cared about her and was clearly protective of her.I really loved the secondary characters. I just loved Armie, even when he was being all perverted. I loved getting to read the tension between him and Rissa. I seriously cannot wait to read his story (I assume there will be a book about him and Rissa). I also really loved how not only Armie but all the guys really supported Yvette and felt protective of her.I did have a couple problems with this book. I wasn't all that enthusiastic about the Heath storyline. At times it felt like it was thrown in there just so that there would be some conflict. Also some of the events at the end got to be a bit outlandish in relation to the rest of the story. I was baffled and what was happening and how crazy some people were acting. Nevertheless I still ended up really enjoying the story and where Cannon and Yvette ended up at end. I am really looking forward to continuing this series and getting to read Denver's story (but can Armie's story please be next after Denver's?).

I love the history given on these two and found that Ms Foster really set it up beautifully. The tension throughout had me so damn frustrated, but it was well worth the wait. The bond these two had made it hard for either of them to look away when the heroine suddenly returns to town. The fact that a will is involved when she suffers a family death, gives the hero a chance to step in and claim something, or someone, he's wanted for too damn long. Toss in the mixup of his old playboy ways, and boom, watch the fireworks explode. Fun, sexy, sweet, and tough...you'll love every minute of this book.

Yvette has always wanted Cannon. Even before he was an MMA fighter. He rescued her before she moved away and now that her grandfather's will has pushed them both together again, she realizes just how much she cares about Cannon. Although he could never forget about Yvette, it just wasn't meant to be…until now. Cannon has always wanted Yvette and now he means to claim her, for now and always.Another awesome Lori Foster read under my belt. As always, another scrumptious hero who's protective, possessive, alpha-all-the-way, and seductive as ever. I love the by-play between hero and heroine, the erotic loving, and the close personal bonds with the supporting characters. Ms. Foster always writes a sexy romance with a muscled, alpha hottie that will keep you completely engrossed every step of the way. The sex is explicit, but written so well you'll not only always want more, but you'll never get enough! If only we could all have one of Ms. Foster's hero's for our very own (yum!)…I love the MMA fighter's! What's really great is that there's always another sexy fighter waiting for their very own story to be told. I will anxiously be awaiting more from Ms. Foster. No Limits is not only a Must Read, but a Keeper too!

I love Cannon. He's just so strong, protective, and seriously loyal. He had my attention way back when he was introduced in the Love Undercover series, but seeing him and his buddies in their own environment is....I don't know the words. All those fighters all gathered together in one room is just heavenly. The ladies that take on these guys either have to be strong enough to handle them or somehow incredibly important to them from the beginning. That's where Yvette comes in, starting out as important then becoming strong in front of our eyes. I liked them together and think they meshed very well. I also loved seeing the tension between Rissy and Armie. Can't wait for that explosion! Recommend for anyone who loves their men on the alpha side. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

Fantastic beginning to the new series. Cannon and Yvette were both characters in Dash of Peril, where Cannon was involved in rescuing her from some pretty nasty people. Yvette had had quite a crush on Cannon, but Cannon felt she was too young. She moved to California to try to start over and move on from her heartache. Her grandfather's death brings her back to Ohio, where she faces her past.I loved Cannon. Even as a teenager he had a strong protective streak. He spent a lot of time looking out for the people in his neighborhood and developing his fighting skills. At the end of the last book he was offered a chance to train for an MMA career and has done quite well in the three years since. He's never forgotten Yvette, and when her grandfather's death brings them both back to Ohio, he realizes that his waiting time is done. It doesn't take him long to see that she isn't the sweet young things with a crush any longer. The attraction is still there, but she also tries to keep a distance between them. Cannon knows what he wants and is willing to take the time to show her that she wants it too. The patience he had as they grew closer was incredible, and it was obvious how difficult it was for him. I loved the sweet way he treated her, while at the same time ramping up the physical attraction. I loved watching his protectiveness as an ex follows her to town and makes trouble for her, and his frustration as she resists accepting his help dealing with it. I really liked the way that he could see that she's a lot stronger than she thinks she is and tries to show her that he doesn't see her as a victim. Yvette had left Ohio for California three years ago to get away from the memories of the kidnapping. She had hated the publicity, and hated feeling like a victim. She's made a good life for herself and developed the independence she thought she'd been lacking. When she came back to Ohio to settle her grandfather's estate she was determined to show the strong side of herself. She hasn't been able to forget the needy, helpless victim she had been, or the feelings being rescued by Cannon had stirred up. She determined to make sure that he knows he doesn't have to take care of her any longer. But the attraction she felt for him then is nothing to the heat between them now. Thanks to the events of three years ago, Yvette feels unable to take the attraction all the way and tries to push Cannon away. He won't give up, and she discovers that there's a lot more to him than she ever suspected. When she starts having problems with a stalkerish ex, she tries to deal with it on her own. She is still fighting her self image as a victim and pushing away anyone who wants to help her, believing that they think she can't handle it. It takes awhile for her to see that Cannon and his friends don't think of her that way, it's just what they do and who they are. I really loved seeing her get to know all the guys and how comfortable she became with them. There were some pretty funny scenes with them, especially the one with Cannon, Yvette and Armie in the kitchen. I loved seeing her finally realize that accepting help doesn't make her weak. She really stunned Cannon at the end with the way she made her wishes known. The suspense in this book wasn't as intense as in the previous series, but there was enough to give the book a bit of edge. The ex was definitely creepy and I loved seeing him get what was coming to him. There were some other things happening to Yvette that didn't seem consistent with what he was doing and it turned out there was another player in the trouble. I didn't really suspect who until near the end, but the reason was a complete surprise.I really enjoyed getting to meet the secondary characters. Cannon's fight friends are pretty obviously going to be the subjects of the rest of the series and I am really looking forward to their stories. Armie is especially intriguing, and the chemistry between him and Cannon's sister is sure to make their story hot. It was great seeing the contrasts between these guys in fighter mode and then the gentle, fun guys when they are "off duty". I also loved seeing the way they give back to their community with programs for at risk kids and their neighborhood watch type activities. It was also fun to see characters from previous books, especially Dash and Margo. The scene with them at home, as Margo helped Yvette, and their little girl climbing all over Cannon was pretty sweet.
