About this audiobook

Lili St. Crow's darkly exhilarating Strange Angels novels have won a devoted readership. In the third book of the series, Crow's unusual heroine, Dru Anderson, has been through the ringer, what with a missing mother, her father turning all undead on her, and forces of evil that just won't seem to let her be. On the run from a predator with a taste for her blood, Dru can count on help from Graves and Christophe-but they just might do more harm than good as they battle for her affections.

The third in the Strange Angel Series. It picks up as the others did, were it left off. Dru finds out in this section of the story who is out to have her killed. She finds people she can trust.

My enjoyment of this series has diminished a bit, but I keep reading them anyway. Most of my annoyances stem from my dislike of love triangle type situations (although its not like I didnt see that coming) and my difficulty remembering large casts of characters (I dont have clear idea of who most of the people in this are or what they are like. Too many supernatural teenage boys to keep track of.)

I also started to find some of the writing repetitive, although to be fair that might be due to my reading these in one long chain instead of as individual stories. The same things seem to get mentioned a lot (changing hair, peoples smells, roach-spirits). It gets a little annoying after a while.

Still gonna read the 4th book though so obviously something is working.

Wow I loved this book. The only problem waas having to go back and reread the last two books b/c I forgot what happend and who the character where. The book reminded me a little bit of Eclipse. I have to say that she should be with Christopher instead of Graves. Christopher has done unimaginable things. They are also the say kind. On the other hand, Graves is the one who has been with her through the whole thing.

    Quick Review:

I enjoyed the third book in the Strange Angels series. Like the other two in the series, I skimmed over much of the action portions, but Dru's POV was spot on.

I find it odd that Dru can never be with *both* Christophe and Graves. And with the way this one ended, I don't see that changing!!!

Christophe's scenes were as charming as ever and Graves, while down played a bit in this novel, had some cute scene's, as well. Fans of both guys should be pleased (for the most part)!

Dru is in a new school and having to deal with way too much politics. There are several people who want her dead and some of them appear to be quite close to her. She's also trying very hard to work out her relationships with people and what they're trying to do in her life. As she's pretty unique in the world the reasons why people want to be in a relationship are many and varied and confusing.I'm kinda curious to know what's happening with this series but in some ways the special snowflake position that Dru is occupying is making me a bit twitchy. There needs to be more females around to balance the males.

I love this series!!! Ash and Dibs have definitely turned into my favorite characters. Although, of course I love Dru and Graves and, yes, even Christophe... Now that they are at the main schola instead of a satellite one, things quiet down some. Dru is able to get some answers to the burning questions that we have all been anxiously asking. However, this book's ending is the worst of the series so far and you will want to already have the next book ready to read right away. I, unfortunately, had to wait half a year....

***Contains spoilers- beware***Lili touches upon quite a few topics in this book that she doesn't in the others (or she tries to in the other books, but you know, characters get in the way, interrupting one another and everything... Ugh, darn characters!) and she fully explains these topics/ ideas, unlike in the other books, and therefore we aren't left questioning as much as we usually are *does happy dance*, especially from page 130 onwards. Combined with the pace of this story (which is super fast), I think that we might just have the best book in the series (even if it totally breaks your heart)! Now, I am not going to lie, I don't understand whatsoever why Graves left Dru. Because she wouldn't tell him who hit her? I hate to break it to you buddy, but it was pretty obvious who hit her considering the majority of those around Dru practically worship her/ hold her on a pedestal and as such I don't think that they would be the culprits. Who hates Dru with every fiber of her being? Oh yeah! That person! Hmmmm... I wonder if they were the one who hit her? DUH!In my review of "Betrayals" I said that I believed Ash to be the most intriguing character of the series and that still rings true. I just really, really, REALLY, want to know what his endgame is! In this book I thought that it was really nice to see him being able to communicate more and more (like when he kept pointing at the door and pointing at Dru meaning "Missy, you have got to get out of this room before the suckers decide to snack on you!"). Also, towards the very end of the book when he was in the informatory and his body kept shifting back and forth? My heart was so happy! And like I mentioned earlier, this book will totally break your heart. For a number of reasons. If you are team one boy and read what happens between Dru and that boy, you will be totally happy, but then all of a sudden BAM! The tables completely turn and it starts to seem like Dru is leaning towards the other boy, and you will be heartbroken (or vice versa, you will be totally rooting and thinking "Way to make the right decision Dru!"). And even if you are not a fan of one of these boys, when you hear what horrible-ness is happening to one of them? Well, you will become a fan and you will pray that it all ends well for him.All in all, this is the best book in the series. Again, we are introduced to a ton of new characters (I must say that Leon is by far my favourite character introduced in this book- I just love his dry humor/ snarkiness). I think that "Defiance", the next book in the series, will boil down to is what who will Dru choose? The boy that she feels the most comfortable with? Or the boy that she feels passionate towards?

If I hadn't already read Strange Angels and Betrayals, I probably wouldn't have looked twice at this cover for Jealousy. Thank god I already was looking forward to the sequel, because otherwise, I would never have picked this particular book with this cover up. The book was good. I am really enjoying this series It's first person narrative, with just the right amount of angst, first love confusion and strong girl trying to stay strong. Normally, I have no patience with angsty characters; there are a few exceptions, but in general I'm not fond of angsty characters. Lilith Saintcrow is one of the few authors that can write angst and still keep me interested in her novels. It must be the combination of angst and kick-ass that works for me. I've put down other books with a bit less angst. Ms Saintcrow strikes the right balance with her characters for me. From the first book to the the third, there's only been a passage of a few months - so Dru (main character) and Graves have been through quite a lot together in a short time. In the first book, Dru has to kill her zombified dad (hey - kill or be killed!) and through out the next few months has hardly had time to process this intense loss or the extreme changes that she's been through. Graves has had to deal with being changed into a wulfen, that's got to be tough for a teen boy. Jealousy deals with her delayed grieving as well as a whole slew of other mental leaps that Dru has to navigate. And Action - there's action as well - a couple of good fight scenes.Dru and Graves have finally made it to the Schola that she was originally supposed to go. But she's still in quite a bit of danger. She is one of the few female dhampir who have made it to the ripe age of 16, and the other female dhampir seems to have an unreasonable hate on for her....is it jealousy? Being the only female dhampir for years and years must make a girl feel very special, and now here comes Dru. Even though Dru and Graves are supposed to be safer now, Dru knows that she's still in danger. She can feel it. She's also been having a lot of flashbacks of previous scenes from her childhood. They all tie together by the end of Jealousy. There is an absolutely heartbreaking event in Jealousy - which I hope will be the focus of the fourth book. And one of Dru's enemies is finally dealt with, but there seems to be more. A few of my favorite characters from the past two books are still in Dru's life. Graves, of course; Ash the broken wulfen who seems to have formed an attachment to Dru; Dibs from the other schola (school) and Christophe. Although I have to admit here, that Christophe is not one of my favs. In fact, I find him, and his feelings for Dru just a bit creepy. He's way older than her, knew her mom and yet...Creepy. There are a few good things happening for Dru. Her relationship with Graves is progressing in a first love, awkward way. She's learning that she can make friends with some of the boys. She's learning a little more about her heritage, and putting two and two together - fitting some of the puzzle pieces of her past into place. I'm looking forward to reading more of Dru's story. I'd like to hear a little more about Graves and his past also. Lili St. Crow is great at painting pictures with words. She's very good with dialogue, especially the different speaking patterns of a young girl, a teen boy, the wulfen, and the rather stuffy dhampir who have "been around" for a while. She's one the authors that can write a story where you can just picture the teen really saying the words. The narrative is also something that I enjoy from Lili St. Crow. She's good at all the little details - such as the way the hair changes with the moods of the dhampir, the little sounds the come and go, the tastes and smells of things. I think the word I'm looking for is atmosphere - she paints a wonderfully atmospheric picture with her words

LOVED it! Oh man I love the Strange Angels books. I think it's the most interesting "vampire high school" series out there.Dru has got to be one of my favorite female characters. She's so strong willed and independent, and really knows her "Real World" stuff. I'd sure want to stay on her good side.Jealousy doesn't disappoint, nor does Dru get all soft now that she thinks she's safe. Well really, she know there's a traitor high up in the Order so of course she isn't safe. While trying to deal with a Broken werewolf, and a blooming romance with her best friends, she's stuck in the middle of a power struggle. Between those that would use her, and those who'd like to see her destroyed. Can I just say that the fight scenes in Jealousy are some of my all-time favorites out of everything I've ever read. With out spoiling it for you, the scene in the gym has got to be the most kick-a** chick fight ever! (I have a little tease for you tomorrow.)So, if you've loved Dru from the get-go, you'll still be impressed by her bravado in book 3. I can only say that the ending was catastrophic for Dru, and I'm anxiously hoping for a positive outcome. Please hurry up and be Spring 2011, I need my Dru fix now!4.5/stars

The plot is a little jumbly, but Jealousy is still an enjoyable book. Elements that I enjoy from Saintcrow's adult books are showing up more in the story - dark angst, confusion, and heroines that don't do what they're supposed to.

I tried to read this slowly since I knew it would be awhile until the next book is released. I didn't succeed--it pulled me right in.This book is another satisfying (except for the cliffhanger) entry in the Strange Angels series. If you haven't read the first two DO NOT start with this one, start at the beginning. The series is starting to read like one long book, each one picking up where the last left off with minimal back story. The plot is good and twisty and action-packed. The all the characters are well-drawn and believable, even the secondary ones. Dru's relationships develop nicely in this book and while a girl may find herself on Team Graves or Team Christophe there's not really a bad choice between them. This is a good, entertaining story, and well-told. My only complaint with this book (other than having to wait so long to find out what happens next) is how much time Dru spends commenting on what her dad or her gran would say in any given situation. I understand it's meant to make a point, but I really didn't need it every other paragraph all throughout the book. She is a very strong character and doesn't stop doing what needs doing despite what is going on internally, but we are privy to what seems like every single thought Dru has of her dead family and she is reminded of them constantly. Also, I understand that Dru is under a lot strain (it's remarkable when more than a week goes by without someone trying to kill her), but I was astonished that she could not figure out who that traitorous someone is any sooner. However these are minor complaints. I'm really, really looking forward to finding out what happens next.

Final Grade: 95/A316 pagesYA Urban FantasyAvailable nowReview copy purchasedRecommend to students: Yes (contains violence)REVIEW: Wow. That's not much of a blurb, is it? Well, this is the third book in the series so, because I'm sure I'll say something spoil-y in this review, don't read it unless you've read the first two. And, besides that, you'll be a bit confused if you start with Jealousy because Lili St. Crow doesn't do a whole lot of back story in her books (Thank God. 'Cause that annoys me when the author says the same thing over and over to set up the backstory! Granted, it's helpful if you haven't read the book but still.).I devoured this book in one night, staying up until the wee hours to find out what happens with Dru and Graves and Christophe. Dru's finally away from the delinquent school and where she belongs. Supposedly. But there's still a traitor, there's still suckers and others out there who want her dead. She's a little slow to realize who it is (I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt with this, that she's not slow, she's just having a hard time believing it.) and this slowness almost gets her killed.Dru finally meets the Council, matches wits with Anna, and comes to a decision about Graves (well, sort of. There's still Christophe...maybe. S*sigh* Love triangles can be so difficult.). And, as I was reading, I realized that this book was going to be a cliffhanger. Grr. Now I'll have to wait until next year to find out if...no. Not gonna put that spoiler in there!Anyway, Lili St. Crow comes through big-time with JEALOUSY. It's packed full of action, intrigue and betrayal all the way through it. And the fight scenes rock! I love the way she writes them, so that I feel like I'm there, in the middle of the action. Dru is a kick-butt character--stubborn and smart, a take-no-crap kind of girl who, despite the difficult situations she finds herself in, can figure a way out. She garners the loyalty of those around her and is a natural-born leader (although she still sees herself as a loner. I'm thinking this is going to change a bit in the next book, though.). Graves and Christophe are both hot in their own way but I also want to smack them both upside the head because of some of the stuff they say and do (mostly Christophe but Graves still deserves a head-smack). Loved JEALOUSY. Highly recommended.
