Written in such a way as to give you much detail, but at the same time makes you curious. Sexy, with lots of suspense, action, has everything you want. A very good book, I liked it a lot.

The story is intriguing from start to finish no dull or dreary moments. It leaves you in suspense though so I advise would be readers to have the 2nd installment on hand before finishing the first book. There are no simpering or weak and whiny characters- all the characters I came across so far are strong and roll with the punches. I definitely recommend!

    A good read!
I wasn’t expecting to actually like this book as much as I did. It had me crying in the end and happy at the end. I only wish that something that happened didn’t happen and I sure those who read it feel the same.

    Well, well, welllll

I did not expect that turn of events that's for sure.

I read this world in reverse slightly as I started with the Pike and Pawn duet and I was always curious about King. It's completely different being in King's head to seeing him as a side character. This man is brutal, savage and unforgiving in so many ways. He is a man set on what he wants and once he's made up his mind there's really no going back unless you're a Jane Doe who remembers absolutely nothing of her past life.

I instantly wanted to shelter Jane and help her through this world she's found herself in with no correlation of what happened or how she got there. She continues to find herself in one horrific situation after the next until she meets King. King never expected his life to be turned upside down again, especially since he was aiming for one goal and that was to get back Max - but Jane completely knocks everything out of order. Since returning from jail King now needs to get his head straight - or as straight as a born criminal can be - and get back what was taken from him, with a little help from a girl who knows nothing at all.

Dark and gritty romance between a girl with amnesia and an ex-con. Lots of graphic violence, but interesting enough plot. The audiobook was well done.

TWs: murder (graphic), rape and attempted rape (graphic), substance abuse, imprisonment

If you like feral animals that are kind of simple then you may really get into King. Doe’s story was interesting as well as the mystery around her memory loss. She seemed a bit more developed than King and therefore I was able to connect with her character a little more. King is initially depicted as an extremely antisocial personality who is very disconnected from what he does to others, but somehow connects with Doe and the author tries to redeem him as the story goes on. For me, he is simplistic, undeveloped and 1 dimensional. I don’t find his style of interacting attractive at all. I almost gave the book 2 stars but there is occasional witty banter amongst the side characters and plot was interesting.

This book was ridiculously incredible!!! Good God what a story!! And the cliffhanger at the end had me in freakin tears!!! I’m sobbing at the moment!

The end is not what I have suspected will happen at all!!!! I will have to start the next book immediatly as this is torture for me!

I’ve listen to this audiobook in 1 day! Just couldn’t stop! Yes! It is THAT good!!!!!!!

This was amazing! One of the best books I've listened to in a while. Rough and soft, made me cheer Doe and feel for her, while understanding King's torment. Looking forward to the next book in the series

Awesome book. Puts 50 Shades to shame and shows a more real side (though not totally realistic) side of BDSM. The only thing I did not enjoy was the last chapter/epilogue. It was totally off base and should have been saved for the next book in the series rather dumped on the end of this one. It tried to wrap up the lose ends of 350 pages in 10 pages. Not a good way to bring closure for your readers. Had it not been for the last chapter would have been a 5 star book!

I was enjoying this series and the Original Sinners series as well with Nora. Yet I could not get into this book at all. Which surprised me as I like Soren and Kingsley. Yet what I found lacking was the emotional connection and the storyline. I was put off by Kingsley as I found him a little colder in this book. Also I was turned off by the male on male sex scene in the beginning. Not that I am a prude as I have read many erotic stories including all genres like f/f, m/m, f/m/f, m/m/f, m/m/m/m/f, s/m, etc. So again I could have been fine with this story being male on male driven but the story was not really going anyway. It seemed like it was just more about sex. I only got about a third of the way in and put the book down. My least favorite book in the series.
