About this audiobook

Popular novelist Dan Jenkins is well known in the golf world for his column in Golf Digest. A modern classic among 20th-century sports novels, Dead Solid Perfect is Jenkins' hilarious send-up of professional golfers and the often ludicrous reality of life on the tour. "This is vintage Jenkins-profane, outrageous, and sharp-eyed in its parody of the world of big-time golf."-Newsweek

Big fan of Dan Jenkins. Loved Semi-Tough and Life It's Ownself. But this fell surprisingly flat for me, seeming like an outline for a great book more than an actual book. It didn't have the detail, the rich descriptions, the hilarious characters or the tone of his earlier works. I never really liked Kenny Lee Puckett, the hero of the book, or saw much reason to root for him. And while I'm not a sports fan, his football books brought across the passion for the game in a way I could understand, but I didn't get any love of golf out of this. Just commentary on tournaments and players.
