Sometimes when perfect falls apart, a little trouble fixes everything . . .

Twenty-one-year-old Kayla Turner has lost everything. After spending most of her life taking care of her ailing mother, she just wants to spot a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel. So when her late father-a man she barely knew-leaves her an inheritance, she finally breathes a sigh of relief . . . until she learns the inheritance comes with strings. Strings in the form of handsome playboy Daren Ackwood, her father's protégé. To see any of her inheritance, she's forced to team up with him. From his expensive car to those sexy dimples, Kayla's seen his type before. But Daren isn't who he seems to be . . .

Struggling to make amends for his family's mistakes, Daren has a life more Oliver Twist than Richie Rich these days. He's beyond grateful that James Turner included him in his will, but working with Turner's princess of a daughter to fulfill his cryptic last wish is making Daren wonder if being broke is really so bad. Still, she's just as beautiful as she is stubborn, and the more time he spends with Kayla, the less it feels right being without her. Soon Daren and Kayla begin to wonder if maybe the best gift Kayla's dad could have left them . . . was each other.

4.75 StarsA contemporary NA romance that is truly beautiful, heartfelt, and moving. Both the MCs are believable and likeable. The supporting characters are perfect. The author blends loss and love throughout the story, making these themes almost like characters. The writing flows easily and it's hard to put the novel down. This sequel is even better than the first one (which is good). Although the you can read this book as a stand-alone, I recommend reading the whole series. Some characters show up in both. Perfect for contemporary romance fans!GoodReads FirstReads Giveaway

I won this book some time ago, but never agreed to do a review but felt compelled. Kayla Turner lost everything in her life including her mom. Unknown to Kayla her mom borrowed twenty thousand dollars from Kayla's boss and she had died before payment was made. Now Big Joe wants her to pay it off by working in his diner where she slaved to make a decent living or work it off in other ways of his choosing. When she gets word the father she barely knew leaves her an inheritance, she quickly quits her job and heads her rundown mom's car out of town.Daren Ackwood Kayla's dad protege struggles to make amends for his family's mistakes and grateful to be included in James Turner will, but to work with his princess daughter just rubs him the wrong way especially with her stubbornness!

This was such a great story. It had elements that made me cry and laugh!

We first met Daren in the first book of this series, though it's not necessary to read the first book I think you should. Anyways, we never saw much into him except that he seemed fun and carefree. He is anything but though. I loved his character so much. He wears this mask of indifference and confidence so well and it's attractive but who he really is, is so much more.

I'll be honest, I thought I was going to hate Kayla then begin to love her but I was wrong. I liked her immediately. My heart constantly broke for her. She is beautiful and knows it but doesn't flaunt it. in fact I think she hates it. She's always perceived as someone she isn't. She's strong and kind.

Anyways, Kayla and Daren are to be handcuffed together to go on a hunt to find a letter from her deceased father. She hasn't spoken to him in years and is contacted when his passes away. what she doesn't expect is his relationship with Daren. Her dad, Old Man Turner, has been like a father to Daren all these years and at first Kayla feels nothing but anger. Daren despite being a rich kid had such a bad childhood, no he wasn't abused but he was neglected. Old Man Turner has been like a dad to him and taught him so much. But Kayla doesn't know this. So when he passes away and leaves specific instructions for Kayla and Daren to be handcuffed together to find what he left them, they are both shocked. But both of them need what he left more than either one of them cares to admit.

This story is full of laughs, steam and revelations. I actually liked this story more than the first in the series!

Review courtesy of Dark Faerie TalesQuick & Dirty: This book was seriously just so much fun to read. Full of steamy romance, great humor, forgiveness and wonderful characters, I feel comfortable in recommending this to all fans of the new adult genre.Opening Sentence: On the other side of the casket, a middle-aged woman wearing a navy blue dress glares at me.The Review:Daren Ackwood has lived a very privileged life, well at least until the last year he did. He had rich parents and was an only child, but then his mom decided to leave and things started going downhill after that. His father turned into a heavy alcoholic and his girlfriend died in a car accident. Then his father takes things a step too far and Darren is left to pick up the pieces. He has always had a bad boy reputation and he has made it pretty clear that he is only interested in one night stands. When he goes to Old Man Turner’s funeral and he see’s Turner’s daughter, Kayla, for the first time in years and he might decide to break his own rule just this once.Kayla Turner has been hurt enough in her life. When her parents got divorced when she was young it was painful, but nothing can compare to the pain she felt when her father stop being a part of her life. On her 16th birthday he promised to come and visit her, when he didn’t show up she was heartbroken, then he stopped taking her calls. It has been years since she has seen or talked to her father, now he is gone and she has to go to his funeral. The last few years have been really hard for Kayla. She has no money and has had to give up a lot to try and take care of her drug addict mother. Now all she has left to do is take care of her father’s Will and leave town for good. But there is a catch, you see Old Man Turner had a lot of money and the only way Kayla will ever see a penny of it is if she handcuff’s herself to the very handsome bad boy Daren Ackwood.Darren is a very charming character. He is gorgeous, cocky, and just all out sexy. He knows that girls find him attractive and he has used that to his advantage. But he is also very honest and up front about how he feels about relationships. He just doesn’t do relationships and that’s the way it is. Darren puts on this tough front, but underneath he is very vulnerable. The cockiness he expresses is his way of hiding his own insecurities. Deep down he is a very good person and I had a lot of respect for him. I thought he was an excellent love interest and I totally fell for him.Kayla is such a sweet girl that has had a lot of unnecessary suffering in her life. But what I liked best about her is that she hasn’t let all the pain make her bitter. Yes, she is angry but she has a right to be. As the truth unfolds it was wonderful to watch her deal with everything and come to terms with her relationship with her father. I felt a deep emotional connection with Kayla and found that I could really sympathize with her situation. She is a hard worker and deserves a bright future. She is someone I can easily look up to and admire for being strong. I loved her character and I am so glad I got to read her story!!!Perfect Kind of Trouble is so much fun but totally sexy as well. The sexual tension is so thick you could cut it with a knife, but at the same time Fine manages to implement tons of humor into the story as well. Honestly, once I started reading, I just couldn’t seem to put it down. The story was just pure entertainment and I enjoyed every minute of it. It was easy to feel an emotional connection to the story and I instantly feel in love with the characters. Fine’s writing style is so refreshing and I find that she is the perfect author to go to when I am in a reading funk. There is just something about her stories that I love and I have quickly become a huge fan. I will gladly read anything she writes in the future. I would highly recommend this series to anyone that enjoys a well told and entertaining story with lots of drama and sexy romance.Notable Scene:I stare down at the couch rip until I hear my father clear his throat. “Hello Kayla and Daren.” I look up. “If you’re watching this, then I assume I’m dead. Which is unfortunate, because I really liked being alive.”I already hate this.“Nevertheless, now that I’m gone I have a letter I want to leave to you—to both of you. The only catch is that you two must agree to wear handcuffs while retrieving it.”I blink not sure I heard him correctly. He smiles. “It’s really the only way to ensure that you stay together and cooperate with each other. You’re both only children with circumstances that have taught you not to rely on others, and being such, I’m sure your first instincts will be to separate and go at it alone. So you’ll understand why I feel the handcuffs are necessary.”My jaw drops. It actually falls open in shock.FTC Advisory: Forever/Hachette provided me with a copy of Perfect Kind of Trouble. Chelsea Fine has done it again! She’s made me fall in love with another set of characters.
I absolutely love Kayla. She’s strong, and she’s determined to not end up like her mother. She also harbors some deep issues with her dad. I felt so awful for her when people would judge her based on looks. And we all know I was not a big Daren fan in Best Kind of Broken. I thought he was an egotistical ass. But he’s even managed to wiggle his way into my good graces. He is way more than he appears.
I love everything about this book. The journey they have to go through to get the inheritance is hilarious, sweet, and very heartwarming. The image of those two being stuck together is hard to get out of your head. I like that they are able to joke with each other, even though they don’t particularly like each other. The timeline almost runs along the same timeline as Best Kind of Broken.

I loved this book so hard, and I can’t wait for more!

I was not a huge fan of book one in the series, but since I owned it, I decided to give book two a chance. I was actually happy to see it followed different characters. Chapter one caught my attention right away, and I knew I was going to enjoy this more than I did the first one.I enjoyed the scavenger hunt and how it related to a positive memory of Kayla and her father. I liked Daren and his sarcastic ways. I liked how both characters had total different views of each other compared to who they were.Overall, enjoyed this way more than the first book. Now on to the conclusion to the series.
