About this audiobook
Once again, the Widows of Butternut Creek are determined to find a bride for Pastor Adam. This time, their candidate is as gun shy as the pastor! A traumatic experience as a college freshman has left Gussie Milton 'once bitten, twice shy.' Although she'd like a relationship, she's frightened, so she's thrown herself into caring for her aging parents, her photography business, and her church. In the eyes of Miss Birdie and her friend Mercedes, aka 'the Widows,' Gussie would make their young pastor the perfect wife. And though the attraction proves mutual, first Gussie's past and then the pastor's hopes for the future threaten to keep them apart. Can the Widows' meddling be the catalyst that changes the couple's lives forever?

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Adam Jordan is a church pastor in the hill country of Texas – and he’s single. A group of women in his congregation (do-gooders who call themselves The Widows) are determined that he marry and start a family … and pronto. They even have a bride in mind: Gussie Milton. She and Adam are often thrown together in the youth ministry but she has never shown a bit of romantic interest in Adam. She’s outgoing and full of laughter, but there’s another side she hasn’t revealed to anyone outside her immediate family. Can this wounded woman have a relationship with any man?The Matchmakers of Butternut Creek is a sweet, light-hearted novel that will make readers of cozy fiction feel better about the world. It’s the second book in a trilogy – and I’ve already ordered the other two books in the series. I’m pretty sure readers will be guaranteed a happy ending.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This is a sweet, humorous book about a young single preacher hounded by "the Widows" who see it as their mission to find him a wife so they can fill the Sunday school with lots of little ones. The antics and rudeness of the widows are hilarious. A few real-to-life situations are addressed through the mistakes and near tragedies of the towns people. All things which a new preacher needs to quickly learn to handle.
