      I read this book years ago. So I listened to it again. As always Stephen King has given me hours of entertainment. I canceled cable. With ascribe I can be entertained while attempting to do chores. I’m disabled and this subscription allows me to keep my brain active and gives my eyes a break. I wish I had this years ago!!

      The book was great because of Stephen King's way of drawing characters that I could see in my mind, care about, and believe they could be real. Everyone who thinks they want to write a novel should first read a dozen of King's books and then think again. Stephen King's "horror stories" usually make me cry because of the life-like people with whom he populates them.

      I love Steven King’s narrations of his own books. He’s not the most polished, nor even the most professional. But? At least regarding his own stuff, he’s the most fun to listen to.

      This is my second read of desperation by Stephen King. I can say this book is enjoyable and pretty unpredictable with religious undertones. One thing I don't quite enjoy is how much of the storyline depends on a young boy who basically has lost everything. That makes it tough to care about the outcome of the book. You're left wanting for hope and not quite getting that at the end.

      There were a lot of scenes that were a little too grotesque for me. I thought the audiobook should have had a professional reader. I don’t think the author should have read the book. I usually get absorbed in a Stephen King story. This book just did not catch my interest although I did manage to listen to the very end.
