- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5The first book in the Locke Family Series. A very cute story about an heir sent to England to meet his bethoved. He finds that she is the most beautiful girl in the world, but is also very rude, proud, and not to his licking. He meets an average girl who is kind and makes him laugh. He falls in love with her and wishes to marry her. His obsticle is that his intended bride spreads rumors of thier engagement, hurting the possibilities for him to be with his true love. The sex scenes are amaziing!
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Literal assault for no reason, I did not continue listening because the male lead is a disgusting r word. I hate this book it's disgusting.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5catch from Turkoisern; Good regency era story. Sabrina is a country girl, partnered with the friend of a friend, Ophelia, for her come out in London. Meanwhile, highlander Duncan, in summoned by his English grandfather to London. Apparently he's the marquis' sole heir and is expected to marry Ophelia - an arranged match. Only Ophelia, a spiteful witch doesn't want to marry him. Sabrina enchants him, but Ophelia wants everyone to suffer and herself to be in the limelight, until her machinations backfire on her.
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Duncan MacTavish finds he is the heir to his English grandfather's marquisette and also has an arranged bride. Olivia's a gossipy b*tch and he decides to look around. He becomes friendly with Olivia's friend, Sabrina, who falls in love with him. But he seduces her and then becomes re-engaged to Olivia. Sabrina is a doormat who should have grown a spine and dumped his arse. He's an oblivious, ill-tempered clod, and Olivia is the worst (I think she's supposed to be redeemed in the next book in the series, but I don't care because she is unreadable). There are a few more interesting minor characters: the English grandfather and the guy who decides to become friends with Duncan (not sure why). Mostly, this book was a huge disappointment.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Duncan MacTavish is 21 and is heir to his Scottish grandfather Archie but what he is about to find out is that he also the only heir to his English grandfather Neville. Neville's man of business comes to collect Duncan and take him back to England to take up his duties and to meet his fiance. This is all news to Duncan and he wants no part of it, he goes anyway. Archie tells him of the promise his deceased mother made to her father when she married Duncan's father. In the meantime in England his fiance Ophelia is telling tales about Duncan to all who will listen as she does not want to marry him either. Sabrina Lambert , along with 2 spinster aunts, is a neighbour of Neville's, and is in London for her debut when old rumors of her family start doing the rounds and that doesn't do much for her chances of a good match. When she evenutally meets Duncan she is rude to him and he calls of the engagement. He has already met and been impressed with Sabrina and wants her as a friend from word go. Their road to marriage is a little rocky but they get there. This was another fun story by Johanna Lindsey
