Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was born on May 22, 1859. He became a doctor in 1882. When this career did not prove successful, Doyle started writing stories. In addition to the popular Sherlock Holmes short stories and novels, Doyle also wrote historical novels, romances, and plays.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This collection of stories are both enjoyable and intriguing. About half were written so the reader was aling for the ride, while the others gave enough clues that the outcomes could be guessed before the summation by Sherlock at the end.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This was a really fun classic to read. I thought the mysteries were really creative, and it was easy to follow the story while still experiencing that the subject is an absurdly smart person.
