This is a collection of Resnick short stories. I liked them a lot, but I know many of the characters from the novels. I'm not sure how good they are as short stories for someone coming to the series for the first time. What I really like about John Harvey is the way he creates a physical sense of place, the run down jazz clubs, the old cafés and the affluent suburbs are exactly drawn - he creates three dimensional places.
