    Finally finished this trilogy. It's great stuff. That said, I think I might've outgrown this particular genre, because it took me much longer to finish than it would've five years ago. Still, definitely give The Infernal Devices a shot if you're in the mood for YA fantasy.

    This was a very good finish to the trilogy. It all comes to a head with Mortmain and the autamotans. I kind of wish I had read this before I had read Mortal Instruments. There are a few things revealed in this trilogy that we common in MI and I kept having ah-ha moments. I really enjoyed this series. The characters were strong and well developed, the relations ships were thoroughly explored and some of the characters were also in MI. It was nice to see how portals came about and who Brother Zachariah really was. I will miss being in this world of shadowhunters.

    Just as always, amazing imagery. Even a refreshing take on how the love triangle ends. I was hooked from the start. I couldn't put it down if i tried (I didn't).

    Tessa is one fierce woman, I want to be her when I grow up. She is one of the most bad-ass women I have seen written in a long time. I adore Jem, but Will is definitely more my speed. I love that Tessa was able to have children, it would have been such a shame otherwise.

    I give this book 9 adamant citadels out of ten.

    I loved this book! It was so sad and beautiful. I was crying the last 200 pages. A beautiful ending to an amazing series.

    A pleasant, fun adventure with lots of laughs, smiles, and a few almost-tears. All-in-all, a nice series conclusion, though without the backbone of The Mortal Instruments, I definitely would not have liked it much, and do not like it nearly as much in comparison. There wasn't as much story to tell, unfortunately, though the characters grew on me. The death of Jessamine was an actually pleasant surprise from a literary standpoint (I'm not a sadist) as Clare pulled the same trick, or a very similar one at least, in City of Heavenly Fire with Isabelle's almost death, but obviously didn't follow through, leading to a rather undefeatable, unnecessarily powerful main team. By comparison, the losses in this book were just satisfying enough to warrant my mention.

    Ok. Was extremely tempted to skip through parts of it. Way too much angst from all characters. Enjoyed the quirky humor but that was about it. Not Cassandra Clare's best in my opinion.

    This book rocked my world in so many different ways! Oh. My. God! It was freaking amazing! And I completely loved the way the author managed to make every single one in this book to get their HEA. The story was incredibly compelling, heartwrenching at times and made me savor this book until the last word. Incredible!

    This book gave me closure. Everything was finished as far as this group of characters goes. The audience gets to see the aftermath of all the events and learn the fate of our beloved characters.

    Clockwork Princess is the third and final book in the Infernal Devices trilogy, a prequel series to the Mortal Instruments. I was waiting so long for this book but also worried it would not meet my expectations - luckily it exceeded them. The story carries on from Clockwork Prince with the shadow of Mortmain and his plans for Tessa continuing to loom over the shadowhunters while Jem continues to worsen and Will and Tessa continue to hide their true conflicting feelings from each other while both agonising over Jem. There is also the introduction of Cecily - Will's sister who is a great character and we get to know the Lightwood brothers even more. I wont give too much away but the action is non stop after the first few pages and there are some genuinely scary moments as well as some tender and very funny moments. I particularly love Magnus in this book and his scenes with Will.In conclusion I loved and enjoyed this book, I could not stop reading it yet at the same time I tried to read as little as possible so it would last longer. I highly recommend the whole series to fans of YA fantasy/steampunk/paranormal romance - this series is phenomenal. I was also lucky enough to receive the high quality collectors hardback edition with the family tree on the inside of the dust jacket (cue much fangirling) Read it and love it!

    Probably more like a 3.5. I enjoyed it, but because it's been so long since I've read previous entries in this series, there were things that went over my head, because they were references to events I couldn't remember...

    Pros:
    * I finished this one
    * I now know how it ends
    * Steampunk elements

    Cons:
    * Magically-solved love triangle
    * lots of skimming, book could be tightened

    I began the Mortal Instruments long before I learned about the author's controversy. So I have also been torn between my need to finish a series and the question of am I supporting bad things when reading and reviewing later books

    I like the Steampunk elements of this series and I was excited to learn what the clockwork angel was. But I found this plagued by the same poor writing that lead me to DNF the last Mortal Instruments novel.

    Where the previous 2 books were all things considered pretty light on the mushy love crap, this 3rth book was like a open wound pouring out pus with the potential love relations between the characters.

    Really disappointing to have the serie's end like this, as the general story line was quite ok.

    Truly, I have never been so spellbound by a book series before. Clockwork Princess is the final book in The Infernal Devices series and the ending is simply a masterpiece. Tiny details from the first book, Clockwork Angel, snowball into major factors in the conclusion. The storylines have spread from focusing on one main character, Tessa Gray, in the beginning of Clockwork Angel to solidifying separate storylines developing minor characters into strong supporting characters that loom together for one beautifully intricate work of art. It is my understanding a few of the supporting characters roll into the next series, The Mortal Instruments, as The Infernal Devices is its prequel series. Cassandra Clare is a magician with words and creating this world of Shadowhunters and Downworlders yet sticking to basic human deficiencies such as greed, revenge, misjudgment, and unrequited love. Additionally, she brilliantly creates an ending that (I believe) readers on both sides, Team Will and Team Jem, will be happy. There were so many points where I gasped, I laughed, I swooned, and I cried. Embarrassingly fat tears and gut-wrenching sobs. My apologies to my fellow patrons at my local library.I try to find one favorite character in a book and I was fortunate to be able to have two favorite characters: Sophie and Will. Will is officially my favorite book boyfriend. He is witty, loyal, a book lover, and brave. In a strange way he is a fairy tale prince but dripping with sarcasm and guilt from his traumatic past. I knew from the first book, Clockwork Angel, that I would be Team Will and I am pleased to have not been forced to change my mind throughout the series. The prologue to Clockwork Prince remains my favorite passage in this series. Sophie is different from Will in almost every sense except her fierce loyalty and her traumatic past haunting her. It was very pleasing to be see her character develop from rigid and distrustful to courageous and warm. I have not been able to look at scones without smiling and thinking of this book.I would recommend this book for any fan of Young Adult books, romance, steampunk, and fantasy. Also, for those who enjoy listening to the audiobook. The actor Daniel Sharman (of the Teen Wolf and Fear The Walking Dead fame) does a fantastic job of narrating. I also would recommend reading this series in order, starting with Clockwork Angel, because the books evolve on things introduced in there. I would not recommend this book for those who may be offended by violence, sexual scenarios, mild foul language, kidnapping, drug abuse, and demons.

    Loved this book! You learn so much about more about the characters than you do in the other books. Not sure how I feel about the epilogue, but it ties up all the loose ends. Now I have to patiently wait for the next book in the mortal instruments.

    Possible Spoilers Below:

    What to say about this one? Considering the current legal trouble these works are currently a part of, it was tough for me to read this, but at the same time, I HAD to finish this series. I liked Infernal Devices so much more that The Mortal Instruments. Though they were so very similar, these were better written and I don't know if it is because the author learned from the mistakes she made in the first series, or because she maybe had some help with this series.

    There was a love triangle, but it was better written than the other. Though Will and Jace are almost exact replicas of one another, Will is a bit more likeable...maybe. I don't know. I only know that in both series the heroine didn't end up with the one I wanted her with. However, in this series, she at least tried and almost succeeded in being with my choice, and well, in the end, she did get to be with Jem, so there's that.

    Okay, but first the resolution of the plot. I swore that Consul Wayland was in league with the Magister. Boy do I feel dumb for calling that all wrong. He was just a good old fashioned bag of dicks! I love that the women got to be the heroes of the story, that Tessa essential rescued herself and her loved ones. Bridget kicked so much ass it's a shame they never decided to ask/allow her to ascend. Could you imagine what kind of shadowhunter she would have made?! And Charlotte, Sophie and Cecily were so, so brave, it was awesome to see strong female representation especially in that time period. Charlotte got to become the first female to run an Institute and the first female Consul. Very awesome.

    With that being said, I died with Jem. I felt my heart break for Will when the parabati bond was severed. I was so upset that Tessa and Jem didn't get to marry. But at the same time, Jem got to live and Will and Tessa, though devastated over 'losing' Jem, got to be happy together. And in the end, Tessa got to explore both of her great loves. That made me smile.

    I don't know what else to say about this one. I was so shocked when I thought Henry had died, and I am so glad that the author didn't kill him off. I really enjoyed the character growth of not only Will, but of Gabriel Lightwood as well. I adored that Sophie got to be so strong and confident and moved past her insecurities regarding her scar and her station. I'm glad that Gideon Lightwood loved her truly and genuinely.

    All-in-all this was pretty good. I'm glad this was the last in this series because I think I've had enough of shadowhunters. Nine books was more than enough for me and at least The Bane Chronicles didn't feature too heavily with the shadowhunters and focused more on Magnus and his antics. I think if anything I wouldn't mind reading about Tessa and Jem exploring the world together.

    This novel set in Victorian London finishes Cassandra Clare's The Infernal Devices trilogy. The protagonist, Tessa Gray, a shapeshifter, who is sought by the antagonist, Axel Mortman as his wife to aid him in his destruction of the Shadowhunters, a race of humans with angel blood. When she is kidnapped by Mortman, she discovers the origins of her supernatural ability. After Jem's death, Will, mourning his parabatai, sets off to rescue Tessa. After reading both the Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices, I can finally say that I have sated my interest in reading any more by Cassandra Clare. Although this Young Adult novel was entertaining, the final novel in the series became so slow at time, I almost thought about putting it down.

    I actually quite enjoyed the latter half of this book, and Cassandra Clare managed to surprise me yet again, so that's very good. I'm a bit sad about not having enjoyed this trilogy as much as everyone else did, but at least I have finally read it.

    I just finished reading this book and I am crying... The last chapter was sad and beautiful at the same time and I loved it. A great way to end this amazing (I can't think of any other words) trilogy. I wonder if Alec's blue eyes come from Cecily... I can't wait for The Last Hours trilogy to be released!

    In the final entry of the Infernal Devices trilogy, the Shadowhunters are still on the hunt for Mortmain and searching for the answer of why he needs Tessa for his plot against the Shadowhunters to work. In the midst of this larger conflict, Jem's inevitable death looms larger and Tessa's heart remains divided between Will and Jem.A good ending for the trilogy, Clare weaves an epic conclusion to the trilogy and finds endings for all of the characters that will leave devoted readers of the series a bit misty-eyed but ultimately rewarded.

    I realize that many have not had the chance to read Clockwork Princess, or The Infernal Devices series for that matter. So, I will be mindful of that in this review, forgive me if it seems vague because of that.Rarely do I enter into the end of a series with complete confidence in the author to "get it right". Often, I enter in with trepidation and fear that disappointment is all I will leave with. I had faith that Clare would consider the emotional investment her faithful readers have in her books and would treat it with care and tenderness. She delivered wholeheartedly.Clockwork Princess finds Tessa in a constant state of elevated emotions. In one moment she is happily in love and engaged, the next moment nervously guarded and the next terrified of the horrific future the evil Mortmain has planned for her. All of these emotions blend and come to a head in CP.Clockwork Princess is much more than the story of Tessa, Jem and Will's Shadowhunting days though. Many more characters take pivotal roles and so much more information is gleaned on the background of those we've come to love in Clare's other Shadowhunter Serires, The Mortal Insturments.It was a slow start because of it. The story really picks up about thirty percent into it. I did not truly understand why all these newer characters and information were being fleshed out but it expertly comes together in the end.As always, Clare incorporates so many elements in her writing. It is poetic, profound and loving yet also has some epic action and a constant thread of humor and sadness. My emotions were all over the place.I read another review (Rally The Readers), where a reviewer touched on the importance that love plays in this story. Obviously there is a love triangle but it is unlike any other you've read. These three all truly love each other. It isn't lust and it isn't puppy love. It is true and unconditional and transcends all else. Which brings me to...The End.For those who know the series, you're well aware that there is much to be dealt with. For those of you who know both series, you're well aware there are many mysterious links between the two. So many of the questions are answered but with just enough left open that will hopefully bridge us to the next Shadowhunter series, coming in 2015.For those of you who know the series, you will not be, cannot be disappointed with this ending. This was the most beautifully crafted series ending I have ever read.

    I loved it! It was awesome to finally find out the truth about Tessa, and all of the mysteries surrounding Mortmain. Although now I'm dying to see what's going on in the present day world with the characters.. Are they meeting the ones from the Mortal Instruments? (besides obvious Magnus, etc)

    The final installment in the Infernal Devices took me on such an emotional ride that I will not forget. Throughout the novel I laughed, cried, and gasped with surprise. Everything about it was beautiful, My favorite thing about this book was the characters. All of them grew so much in this book. It was nice to see them grow together and end their story together. It was sad, as all endings are, but it was inevitable. Tessa was my favorite with her finding out more and more about Jem and Will and letting neither of them be unhappy. Then there is Jem. My heart went out to him with every cough that wracked his body. And MY Will... Omg my heart was breaking into pieces throughout the entire story for him. And then when he lost his "central truth," my heart and all those little pieces shattered. My other favorite part was the emotion. On every page Clare pulled at my heartstrings. On some pages I would laugh, and then a few pages later I would cry. And I remember even reading some pages with eyes like this O.O Especially the Courtyard scene. I was also very glad to have a little more action in this book. I on pins and needles so many times that I found myself having to read it at work on my Nook app because I could not put it down. Lastly, although I say in other reviews how tired I am of love triangles, this is one that I can actually live with. There was a specific reason she was able to love both of them so strongly and it makes 100% sense. Also, in the end she did indeed choose so it was hardly a triangle anymore. As for the ending, I was very glad to see everyone's "happy ending." Although the epilogue made me cry buckets with the music scene, I still loved it. It was nice to know how the family carried on. I also liked seeing some of the things that appear in the first two books of the Mortal Instruments series. It was interesting to see how they all came together. Cassandra Clare really outdid herself with this one. She will make you laugh, cry, and gasp in indignation all in this one novel. She may have told the Shadowhunters goodbye to that era, but they are far from gone. I can't wait to see whatever else they have in store for us.

    Clockwork Princess is what happens when an author believes her own hype and decides she can do whatever and people will revert to the Emperor's New Clothes thinking of 'its wonderful, best.book.ever!!!!!' Sadly, seeing Cassie's reaction to people who didn't buy into that thinking regarding this book has pretty much ended any chance of me reading her future series which won't be a loss to her, but will at least save my own sanity.

    I'm just disappointed - I truly loved this series, but I suppose when you have to churn out so much in such a short space of time and take a passive aggressive 'il'l show them' attitude regarding valid criticism from earlier books, that something does eventually give and with that, it was this book in general and the epilogue in particular. Shame but it is what it is.

    We can all agree that there are a few things that are guaranteed to come with a Cassandra Clare novel: Sarcasm. Wit. Shade (Magnus, haha). And pain. Heartwrenching, torturous, never ending PAIN.

    And Cassie most definitely does not let us down in that aspect of the final novel of her Infernal Devices series, which is Clockwork Princess. Clockwork Princess begins a few months following the events of Clockwork Prince.

    I felt that I was going through a whole journey with all of the characters throughout the book. I felt what they felt - the desperation, the anxiety, the sadness. But I also felt hope. I felt joy and happiness and pride in the development of each character, from the Lightwood boys to the definition of Parabatai in Will and Jem. Cassie has done great in this way, that she is able to provide such realistic characters that still have their own individual charm.

    Tessa becomes a very powerful protagonist in her own right, despite her not being a Shadowhunter or trained to fight. She does what she believes is required to save the ones that she loves, and that is what makes the difference.

    The love triangle is one that I have never been able to choose between, and even to the final pages of the epilogue and the events that occur within it, I cannot help but feel a bittersweet happiness. Will-Tessa-Jem has always been different because the boys love each other just as much, if not more, than their love for Tessa. And that is something that she knows and acknowledges prior to the beginning of it all. Tessa's love will last for eternity, just as her life. And I'm quite content with how Cassie chose to play these things out. I could not think that any character could be unhappy with how it ends.

    The relationship between Will and Jem tugged at my heart, and I don't ever remember crying this much over two boys. I love both boys so much and their growth as characters throughout the three books makes me happier than anything.

    Clockwork Princess is not only a story of automatons and Shadowhunters, it is a story of a girl who is desperate to find out her own history as to why she is what she is. It is the story of a dying boy who wants nothing more than to have more time, the one thing that he cannot have. It is the story of his Parabatai, willing to do anything and everything for a girl who is his brother's. It is the story of Charlotte and Henry and Magnus, who have somehow made me love them more than I had in the past books. It is the story of Gideon and Gabriel and Cecily, who's own worlds were so different to that of their lives in the London Institute.

    It took me so long to get through the last few chapters and the epilogue, I kept crying and I got completely surprised with the ending. But it is not something to complain about, in my opinion. The love between the main characters had pointed in this direction after all.

    And although like all books, Clockwork Princess has it's faults, it has been a wonderful conclusion to the TID series and it's message will stay with me forever.

    Thank you, Cassie. It literally been a roller coaster ride.

    Clockwork PrincessThis is the last book in the Infernal Devices trilogy, i've loved each book the whole way through and this book was just the most perfect ending to the series. Im so sad that the story is over because i really grew to love the characters, through each book they felt more real and became so much more developed. It completely delivered the stone through the heart effect when you realize how the ending pans out, its just fab. This book gave me the same feeling as when iread harry potter for the first time when i was about 11, took me right back to remembering why i love books so much. If your a YA fantasy fan, promise me you'll read it!
