About this audiobook
Tristan Ainsworth has returned to the village where he grew up in a desperate attempt to make his wife happy. Karen Ainsworth daren't reveal her true feelings, she knows her husband can't put up with her moods much longer. Surely the past can't hurt her now?
As a tide of blackmail heads their way, Karen and Tristan face a difficult question. Is their love strong enough to face the truth when it might cost them everything?
Amanda James
Amanda James has written since she was a child and even asked her parents for a typewriter for Christmas. She never imagined her words would ever be published. In 2010 the dream of becoming a writer came true when she had her first short story published. Originally from Sheffield, Amanda now lives in Cornwall and is inspired every day by the wild and beautiful coastline. She can usually be found playing on the beach with her family, or walking the cliff paths planning her next book.

Reviews for Somewhere Beyond the Sea

- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5At first I did not know whether it was Tristan or Karen who had the secret. Because yes Karen was agoraphobic but there were things Tristan said. Anyway you will find out. I was only a bit, that is the secret? That can't be the secret, and was it, you will find out ;) but trust me it was worth it.
Karen loves to sing, well she used to. Now she does not want to meet people or go outside. Tristan loves this village and the life, but he also wants his wife back to how she used to be. It causes tension in their marriage.
And then there was the secret, a big one. There is blackmail, suspense, tension and romance too. The couple is already married but there can still be romance as they find each other again. Even if they are already in love and happy.
As I read on I understood Karen better, I always liked Tristan too as he was happy and was always trying. A good man. - Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5I didn't like this book. It's the familiar story line where a couple with a (supposedly) wonderful relationship wastes time being miserable because they refuse to communicate. I despise silly characters that would rather throw away a relationship than tell the truth. There is some curiosity about what really happened, but not enough to make me want to spend another minute with the main character.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5too many 'face palm' moments for my taste.
