About this audiobook
Alone and scared on the dark streets of Moscow, staid, bespectacled Paige Barnes has no choice but to comply with the handsome stranger's command… Little does Paige know she's been rescued by Alexei Voronov - a Russian prince "and" her boss's deadliest rival. Now he has Paige unexpectedly in his sights, Alexei is prepared to play emotional Russian roulette to keep her close and discover her true motives.
But in his splendid gilded palace his game of chance spins out of control and passion takes over....
Lynn Raye Harris
Lynn Raye Harris read her first Harlequin Mills & Boon romance when her grandmother carted home a box from a yard sale. She didn't know she wanted to be a writer then, but she definitely knew she wanted to marry a sheikh or a prince and live the glamorous life she read about in the pages. Instead, she married a military man and moved around the world. She's been inside the Kremlin, hiked up a Korean mountain, floated on a gondola in Venice and stood inside volcanoes at opposite ends of the world. These days Lynn lives in North Alabama with her handsome husband and two crazy cats. When she's not writing, she loves to read, shop for antiques, cook gourmet meals and try new wines. She is also an avowed shoeaholic and thinks there's nothing better than a new pair of high heels. Lynn was a finalist in the 2008 Romance Writers of America's Golden Heart® contest, and she is the winner of the Harlequin Presents Instant Seduction contest. She loves a hot hero, a heroine with attitude and a happy ending. Writing passionate stories for Harlequin is a dream come true. You can visit her at her Web site.

Paige Barnes and Alexei Voronov are both appealing characters. She is shy and quiet but has a core of steel that is apparent from her back story and her interactions with Alexei. She stands up for herself against his bullying tendencies.
Unlike the more domineering HP heroes, Alexei's dark, broody and cold facade is the result of a traumatic past, and his fear of loss has made it difficult for him to become emotionally attached. Paige is his perfect match as she forces him to take a long look at himself and reevaluate his life choices.
The plot itself is a well written and engaging pseudo-office romance as Paige is not actually employed by Alexei Voronov, but rather by his business rival. Harris thankfully avoids the angst-ridden pitfalls of the annoying keeping secrets trope as both Paige and Alexei are up front about their agendas.
All in all, a light and satisfying read and the setting of Moscow and St. Petersburg in the winter added another layer of interest to the story.
