About this audiobook

As Sundar preached the gospel to the crowd, the monastery guard marched forward and arrested him. Sundar was dragged to the edge of town and hurled to the bottom of an abandoned well. The air was putrid. Desperation and loneliness soon washed over him. Left to die, Sundar leaned against the side of the well and began to pray. Searching since boyhood for the way to God, Sundar Singh found truth in Jesus Christ.

At 16, the former Sikh became a Christian sadhu, or holy man, and at great risk devoted his life to Christ. With bare feet and few possessions, Sundar crossed the precarious Himalayas between India and Tibet many times, sharing the gospel with Hindus, Buddhists, Sikhs – even thieves. As he traveled, Sundar constantly read the Bible, prayed, and meditated, confident that God was always with him, even in the face of death. Preaching in Asia and Europe and as far away as America, this Indian saint impacted thousands with his quiet yet bold words and actions. (1889-1929)

The book is a beautiful biography of an incredible young Indian Sikh who becomes an evangelist in the form of a Sadhu (an Indian Holy Man) for the Lord Jesus Christ. He was born into a wealthy Sikh Family. At 15 he burnt a New Testament from the mission school he had attended in a city called Rampur. Around that time he had come to decision to ask God to reveal himself to him or if not he would commit suicide by jumping in front of an early morning train. Just before the deadline the Lord Jesus appeared to him and called him. From there the most incredible challenging journey a man could take began. Sundar Singh became an evangelist. He travelled over mountain and vale to testify of the love of God in Christ Jesus. He did this for 25 years. The book is read brilliantly and keeps the attention of the reader all the way through. You will be refreshed and inspired and by the end you too will want to be a follower of Jesus Christ! He reminded of the Apostle Thomas! He discovered a whole movement of followers of Jesus Christ who appeared to be Hindu Holy Man called the Sanyassin! This story is timeless and will wintess of Jesus Christ to every generation. May you too be transformed!

Practical Christianity, Sundar! The silence of God was always audible for this man. It is in the discipline of quietude that we learn to hear aright. Be more eager to listen than to say. Marvelous testimony!

A beautiful life. We listened to Sadhu Sundar Singh's life as a family and thoroughly enjoyed it and have been so encouraged.

A brilliant story of his life.
