About this audiobook

The New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling collection of short stories chronicling the adventures of Simon Lewis as he trains to become a Shadowhunter is now available in print with ten brand-new comic illustrations!

Simon Lewis has been a human and a vampire, and now he is becoming a Shadowhunter. The events of City of Heavenly Fire left him stripped of his memories, and Simon isn’t sure who he is anymore. So when the Shadowhunter Academy reopens, Simon throws himself into this new world of demon-hunting, determined to find himself again. Whomever this new Simon might be.

But the Academy is a Shadowhunter institution, which means it has some problems. Like the fact that non-Shadowhunter students have to live in the basement. At least Simon’s trained in weaponry—even if it’s only from hours of playing D&D.

Join Simon on his journey to become a Shadowhunter, and learn about the Academy’s illustrious history along the way, through guest lecturers such as Jace Herondale, Tessa Gray, and Magnus Bane. Written by Cassandra Clare, Sarah Rees Brennan, Maureen Johnson, and Robin Wasserman, these moving and hilarious short stories are perfect for the fan who just can’t get enough of the Shadowhunters.

I've really enjoyed The Tales of Simon in the Shadowhunter Academy. Oh, the trials of living in such squalor and how Simon became friends with his fellow shadowhunters in training. It added to the other books in the series and filled in the missing pieces we needed to hear. I love Simon as a vampire but I am extremely happy he got his memories back after the ascension. All Hail Simon Lovelace!

I didn't quite enjoyed this book. The thing is, i dont like novellas. I was only told that i should read this b4 TDA and so I did. I thought it's unfair to give 2 stars because of personal preferences. The stories were actually good. but i was just not completely into the stories. They all felt dull. But I guess all novellas feels dull for me.

Absolutely marvelous. Loved it to the last word. Hopefully one day a tv series can be created that does it justice. The whole series including the prequels and all.

Flowed well and about what I expected from this book. More background on Simon and the book followed his life when training to become a shadow hunter. I did love getting peaks into what some of the other characters were up to.

I read Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy. The small telling of Simon from The Mortal Instruments Series going to the Shadowhunter Academy and a few other short stories. I would recommend reading that series before reading this book. Also, if you read The Dark Artifices before this book, it might give away a few spoilers but nothing to major. Also add to The Red Scrolls of Magic a little as well. We all know Cassie's books connect in some way or another.

I love the world that Cassie has created! I have read all of her series in the Shadow world. To this day she is one of my favorite authors. Now this book is a co-write with a few other authors just like The Bane Chronicles and Ghost of the Shadow Market. I have read two those also.

I like this book and it was nice to finally see how Simon became a Shadowhunter and how he dealt with losing his memory. The small details that you catch about how certain things come to life in the major series in this world. Also, few back stories from other characters in The Mortal Instruments and The Dark Artifices series that you don't get in those books. When you love a series like this those extra clips and extension are amazing.

I gave this book 3 stars because if you aren't all into the Cassandra Clare books and her world this book would not make sense to you. It can be a stand-alone but I wouldn't recommend that at all. So, if you're not willing to take on those hefty reads this book would not do you justice.

One of my favorite collections, love the variety of readers. Really wish they would turn this into a graphic novel or an animated series.

I really liked this installment in the Shadowhunters series. I never really got to learn about Simon that much, so it was nice to see his transformation in this book from scrappy, to strong and amazing. He sort of reminds me of myself, which is probably why I loved it so much, but besides that, I'm very excited to continue this amazingly long series with the Dark Artificies trio! Thank you again Casandra Clare for such a wonderful series of adventure!

I loved this so much! I was a little worried that I wouldn't like this as much as I did the regular novels. I read The Bane Chronicles prior to this and imagined that this would be choppy like that one was since this was a bunch of novellas put together like The Bane Chronicles was, but Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy was very different. If you didn't know this was comprised of multiple stories, you would just think that these were just regular chapters in a book. It flowed so well, and it allowed me to revel in their world just a little longer. This is all about Simon joining the Shadowhunter Academy and him finding his way, making friends, and trying to get his memories back. I can't say enough how much I love the whole Shadwhunter world!

Like all of Cassandra Clare's books, this one leaves you with lots of feels and loads of back story. I enjoyed these stories a lot and would recommend them. 5 out of 5 stars.

***Spoilers alert***I finally finished the book! So annoyed that it took me nearly 3 weeks to finish this! Let's start - I hate the cover maybe that influence the feeling I am dragging the read. The whole book is about accepting different, going through hidden tests and finding a way to be you, perhaps that called growing up, being ready to take sides and be with those whom you love. This is not my best review, I would say!I am also not fond of the book - 10 small books bound in one edition, OK, the plot does surprises for choosing Simon to be on the spot light and how "down on earth" is he. But instead of saying "wow" and "amazing" I am - where is this going? I can't give high rating just because this is C.Clare writing and so far I have enjoyed the books. Apparently, this book gave a feeling I am done with the series (!!!). Because, although this book deals with Simon's amnesia and his way to find his new personality - aka himself again in Shadowhunter Academy, of all the places - and each of the visitor tutor gives a personalized lecture about how and what happened in the past and how important it is - it felt ridiculous that these students were given the info - and how was this info spread to the rest of the Shadowhunters then, what was meant with Simon and George bounding to give the cliff cut at the end? The name giving session to the baby - I was hoping the characters would choose something new, something entirely new, but giving the name that already existed and the character had died - sorry - just doesn't make sense and doesn't sound sentimental at all. Let's be honest, some of the stories went on and on to nowhere, pointlessly dragging. I Liked to read about these new characters and parabathai thing was something new as well, how well and friendly Jace, Alec is about Simon..well, its shown in a good light that the old characters had to change their negative point of view and accept new ones to the them.
