About this audiobook
Even before she made a name for herself on the silver screen starring in films like Pitch Perfect, Up in the Air, Twilight, and Into the Woods, Anna Kendrick was unusually small, weird, and “10 percent defiant.”
At the ripe age of thirteen, she had already resolved to “keep the crazy inside my head where it belonged. Forever. But here’s the thing about crazy: It. Wants. Out.” In Scrappy Little Nobody, she invites readers inside her brain, sharing extraordinary and charmingly ordinary stories with candor and winningly wry observations.
With her razor-sharp wit, Anna recounts the absurdities she’s experienced on her way to and from the heart of pop culture as only she can—from her unusual path to the performing arts (Vanilla Ice and baggy neon pants may have played a role) to her double life as a middle-school student who also starred on Broadway to her initial “dating experiments” (including only liking boys who didn’t like her back) to reviewing a binder full of butt doubles to her struggle to live like an adult woman instead of a perpetual “man-child.”
Enter Anna’s world and follow her rise from “scrappy little nobody” to somebody who dazzles on the stage, the screen, and now the page—with an electric, singular voice, at once familiar and surprising, sharp and sweet, funny and serious (well, not that serious).
Editor's Note
Charming as all get-out…
Charming and hilarious, these essays cover everything — from Kendrick’s young start on Broadway to her mixed feelings about “Twilight” — with candor and humor. Kendrick might be scrappy, but she’s definitely no nobody.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A wildly entertaining read! There were many times I forgot I was reading a book, it sounded like Anna and I were having a private conversation a lot of the time. She was a hoot to listen to! I highly recommend this gritty and down to earth autobiography!

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A fun and mindless listen! A good time filler and fun to hear about her experiences.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Refreshingly honest and outspoken, she tears the veil off the glamorous veneer of the show business industry in her own endearingly snarky way.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5awesome read. the book was very relatable. love you anna
- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Sadly she comes across as a typical actress, enamored with her own celebrity, pretending not the brag. We call it a humblebrag. She is apparently, quite the little diva. Too bad, because I liked her, at first.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Love it. The book is super relatable and funny. Amazing
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Funny stories! Her cussing would make a sailor blush…sort of takes away from the story.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5So much fun to read. Down to earth and entertaining.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I loved how Anna made her "famous" life relatable to common people...because she too, is a normal human being like the rest of the population. She explains, with a good amount of humor, the trials and tribulations of being a young person in show business, but still being herself through it all. I was thoroughly entertained!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Thanks Anna for your honesty.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5We all new Anna Kendrick was one of those “super relatable” celebrities but this book just proves that even more. She’s right, this book is more like a conversation than a read! It’s quirky, heartfelt, real and heartbreaking all at the same time.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Anna is hilarious and has some interesting stories! She has a positive outlook on life, but not a fake outlook on life. This was a great listen for a car ride

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Anna is a fun persons head to be in. I loved this and I’m going to create that Thanksgiving dinner! Not for Thanksgiving, like tomorrow. Or next week after I’ve looked up all the recipes and have gone to the store.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Human, grounded, and charming. Work human, buy no bullshit (unless it's from our own mouth, then own it), and consider humor.
