- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5One of the Best for sales people must read. Recommended
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5While definitely good information, this book couldn’t have been further from refreshing or invigorating. While the author was undoubtedly very well reknown and not without sufficient success, I would much rather listen to Grant Cardone’s “Sell or Be Sold”.
This book conjures images of mothballs, candle wax, and flickering gas lights. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5One of the best book on various real time examples.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Must read for salespersons. Great insight and advice still relevant
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The great book I have ever listened. I Loved it.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Best book on salesmanship. Must read for any salesman who is doing any type of sales.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The secret behind the success of Gary Bencivenga in copywriting.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I am not a salesperson, but this book is a good lesson in life since we all "sell" something at some point in our lives (ideas, wants, needs, etc).
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Rating: 3.5 of 5Useful ideas, especially with regards to the power of enthusiasm. Important reminders, such as salespeople can't know too much, but they can talk too much. Bettger's story was an inspirational one and I appreciated the numerous examples of failures turned success, not just from his own life but from other highly successful business people.Only complaint would be the outdated ideology of men-only salesforce. Perhaps that has been updated since my library's 1986 copy.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I read this book after I became a Mary Kay consultant, and was surprisingly impressed by the book's simple, yet powerful messages about hard work, people skills, and the importance of attitude and image. Even though I'm not a Mary Kay consultant anymore, this is a book worth keeping. I can see rereading this book and applying its principles to other areas of my life.
