About this audiobook
When it comes to her heart, Arabella D’Angelo has moved on—even though she still lives in Mirror Lake, Connecticut, a little tourist town with a long memory for mistakes. Ever the dutiful daughter of a cantankerous widower who holds grudges, Bella has spent the past twelve years raising her younger brother and making a name for herself as a successful psychologist. Now, when she isn’t counseling a lonely-hearts club for senior women, she’s humoring her matchmaking girlfriends. Bella resists the romancing of their blind dates, yet her friends hope she’ll fall for a local and scrap plans for a fresh start in Chicago.
Then, just before Bella’s thirtieth birthday, her first love, Roman Spikonos, returns to Mirror Lake. When he moves next door to her family’s garden-center business to run his grandparents’ orchard, it stirs up gossip—and a tempest of passions—just in time for pumpkin harvest. As Roman and Bella once again get caught up in a swirl of desire and heartache, not to mention her overprotective father’s fury, Mirror Lake will soon find out whether the Italian hometown beauty and her unforgettable Greek god can stand a second chance.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I'll give this one 5 stars. It's a fun-loving and heartfelt romance about young love and learning from the past. It sort of reminds me of stories like My Big Fat Greek Wedding with the characters. As always, this particular narrator did wonderfully. It's a nice heartwarming story. I hope Ethan has a story or will get one. I think this is my first story with this author. I'll have to find out now. I feel so bad for the guy.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I read this book via an Amazon-US KINDLE Unlimited download. If there was ever a song which essentially epitomizes the basic storyline for this book, being a child of the 1950’s, it would have to be “I Can’t Stop Loving You.”Bella, unlike her grump, argumentative widowed mother who’s forever holding unto resentments for years, has moved on from the romances she’s once shared with the guys in her life, like Roman Spikonos. Why have I mention this particular guy’s name? The answer is quite simplistic, he’d been Bella’s true first love interest, and he’s just moved back to Mirror Lake; moving back of all places right next door to her, at her parent’s garden center and just in time to celebrate her 30th birthday.Since last seeing him, twelve years ago, Bella has become a respectful psychologist while at the same time looking after her younger sibling. And when she’s not involved with the town’s senior citizen’s lonely-hearts club, she’s attempting to indulged her forever insistent cupid playing girlfriends trying to match her up some guy.Naturally, when these two meet, kismet apparently starts getting involving, as it’s time for the annual pumpkin harvest celebration, and time for kismet to renew the bruhaha of urges they’d once shared with each other. By the end of the day, the question that arises out of this ado, is will these two individuals get a second chance at having the HEA they once had from each other. For having ended this year and beginning a new year with the delightful possibility of reading a second chance romance, for me and the rest of this author’s readers. So, being a child of the 1950’s, and with “Young Love” by Sonny James, along with the song “Can’t Stop Loving You” playing in my mind as I read this book, I’ve given Ms. Liasson 5 STARS for her book.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5A feel good story of love and resistance, or, better said, resistance of love. High school sweethearts with an unfortunate past are reacquainted via a mutual friend's wedding and things start simmering slowly into a full boil. Arabella and Roman, a Romeo & Juliet, are destined to be, but an over-protective father, an enamored best friend and the 12 years since all play interference before reality sets in. And when it does ....It is refreshing to read a story sans meanness, uncreative metaphors for sex, or drastic situations. Just enjoyable reading with a happy ending. One in a series of books involving the romancing brothers of Roman, it's a perfect afternoon delight. Winter is upon us, make the most of it!
