About this audiobook

A big event has Isabella ready to leave home at the crack of dawn. But that's a motion her parents aren't likely to pass. After a two-to-one vote, it's decided that some things need to happen before Isabella can leave the house-like eating breakfast and brushing her teeth! If her house is going to work like a democracy, Isabella knows what she has to do; call an assembly and campaign her way out the door! Taking inspiration from women who trail blazed their way onto the political map of America, Isabella celebrates the women who were first to hold their offices. And if Isabella can get her parents out the door, she might just witness the first woman voted into the highest position of all...

This is a new addition to the Isabella series. Isabella is ready to leave the house before her parents are even out of bed. There is a big event to attend and she can't wait. In order to get her parents moving she takes on the persona of various women in politics, in a historical story. I did not know all the women introduced so will have to check some of them out. They are briefly introduced and told what they did, without many details The hope, I assume, is to get little girls to do some investigating of their own to see what these women did and inspire them to think big. I loved the illustrations, especially of cute, energetic purple-haired Isabella. This would be a great book to introduce politics, or famous women in politics to late primary and even early junior students.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
