- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5The first audiobook i listened to.. enjoyed the narration as well as the story! i was kinda hoping for a scene where West introduces Katherine to her family.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Oh my gosh... I loved this book! hahahaha I just can't believe it. I almost dnfed it.
I wasn't a big fan at the beginning but damn, that second half. - Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5I REALLY did not like Katherine, and my distaste for her from chapter 8, where she's judgemental about the fact that her best friend has gained some weight, soured the entire story for me. She was also pretty judgmental about a lot of other things too.
Another complaint I have is that I wish the author had described what the characters looked like in any kind of detail. I know Katherine was blonde and had cheekbones. I know Ali had dreadlocks (all her life? Or just when she was young? Who knows) and "darker skin" than her professor or Katherine. I'm assuming they were both skinny, because of Katherine's judginess of anyone who has a bit of extra weight and her callorey counting. But some kind of description of what they and their friends looked like would have been nice.
Also with books like this, that spans over 20 years, I'd have expected the characters to have some kind of growth between being in college and being almost 40. If there was character growth, it was too subtle for me to see it.
The narrators are both very good. - Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5What a journey for all the characters involved. Was hoping for Ali introducing Katharine to her parents, but glad they both finally came together after 20 years.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Very fun, easy quick read, relatable characters. Enjoyable! I recommend.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book brought me so much emotion that I lived the pages. I laughed and cried as I became engulfed in the story and felt as if I, too, were a part of the book, eager to see what happened next. I loved the storyline and emotion this book pulled from the depths of my soul.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This was a very interesting journey of how friends turn to lovers. This audiobook had two narrators, one voice for each of the major characters. My only complaint was that the voice of Katherine had a very annoying speech pattern where she over pronounced words.
