Adam und sein Parallel-Ich jedoch feststellen, dass Nakashima sie betrogen hat. Während Nakashima versucht, mit den neun Amuletten nach Spitzbergen zu entkommen, sehen sich die beiden Peter Adams im Pantheon ohnmächtig dem puren Bösen
gegenüber. Als Maria auf dem Petersplatz mit den versammelten Menschen betet, wächst Anselmo über sich hinaus. Dem alten und dem jungen Peter Adam bleibt nur noch ein letzter Weg, die Apokalypse zu beenden. Ein tödlicher Weg.
