About this audiobook
In this New York Times bestseller, a naturalist probes the forest to comprehend the secret lives of owls. Leigh Calvez takes listeners on an adventure into the world of owls: owl-watching, avian science, and the deep forest-often in the dead of night. These birds are a bit mysterious, and that's part of what makes them so fascinating. Calvez makes the science entertaining and accessible while exploring the questions about the human-animal connection, owl obsession, habitat, owl calls, social behavior, and mythology.

- Rating: 1 out of 5 stars1/5Review specifically for the audiobook. It has to be the worst narrating voice I’ve ever heard, it made the book unlistenable 2 minutes into it. what a shame, my ears hurt after listening to the emotionless, monotonous, robotic voice. There’s text-to-speech software out there with more natural sounding cadence and soothing voices. I’m sorry
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I thoroughly enjoyed this book and have a new affinity for owls.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5It was fun to read but was sort of autobiographical. Talked more about her experiences with owls more than the owls themselves. I still enjoyed this book even though it went that direction. Typically when a book is titled “all about blank” and is actually all about the author I stop reading it right from the beginning but she kept my interest.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5These personal experiences with owls, described by the author, are very well told and interesting.I would have liked to read some stories of experiences with some of the other owls not encountered by the author. But that would not fit within the personal stories very well.
