About this audiobook

From New York Times bestselling author Jill Shalvis comes her first women's fiction novel—an unforgettable story of friendship, love, family, and sisterhood—perfect for fans of Colleen Hoover, Susan Mallery, and Kristan Higgins.

They say life can change in an instant…

After losing her sister in a devastating car accident, chef Quinn Weller is finally getting her life back on track. She appears to have it all: a loving family, a dream job in one of L.A.'s hottest eateries, and a gorgeous boyfriend dying to slip an engagement ring on her finger. So why does she feel so empty, like she's looking for a missing piece she can't find?

The answer comes when a lawyer tracks down Quinn and reveals a bombshell secret and a mysterious inheritance that only she can claim. This shocking revelation washes over Quinn like a tidal wave. Her whole life has been a lie.

On impulse, Quinn gives up her job, home, and boyfriend. She heads up the coast to the small hometown of Wildstone, California, which is just a few hours north, but feels worlds apart from Los Angeles. Though she doesn't quite fit in right away, she can't help but be drawn to the town’s simple pleasures…and the handsome, dark-haired stranger who offers friendship with no questions asked.

As Quinn settles into Wildstone, she discovers there's another surprise in store for her. The inheritance isn't a house or money, but rather something earthshattering, something that will make her question everything she thought she knew about herself, about her family. Now with a world of possibilities opening up to Quinn, she must decide if this new life is the one she was always meant to have—and the one that could finally give her the fulfillment she's searched so long for.

The story flows beautifully and it’s super nice. Just the character of her small sister, Teelee, is exasperating, barely making up for it at the very end. The characters are sassy, human and cute so I strongly recommend this book, it’ll keep you turning the pages all the time.

The first installment in Jill Shalvis’s new Wildstone series, Lost and Found Sisters is a spectacular story that is part women’s fiction, part romance and 100% heartwarming.

Quinn Weller has a fabulous relationship with her parents and a wonderful job she loves as a sous chef.  However, in the two years since her beloved sister Beth’s death, she has been emotionally shut down as she tries to navigate through life without her best friend by her side.  She has not been interested in anyone romantically since she stopped dating her longtime friend Brock Holbrook.  Quinn’s world is turned upside down a second time when lawyer Cliff Porter gives her stunning news that leaves her questioning everything about her life. Quinn makes a snap decision to go to Wildstone, CA in an effort to sort through her confusion.

Mick Hennessey worked hard to leave Wildstone and his controlling father behind once he graduated from high school.  With a successful career and life in San Francisco, he has only returned to his small hometown sporadically over the years. However, after his father’s unexpected death, Mick finds himself traveling back and forth between Wildstone and San Francisco as tries to help his mom deal with her loss.  He is not looking for another complication in his life when he meets Quinn, but there is an incredible amount of chemistry between them that is impossible to resist.

The surprises keep coming once Quinn visits Wildstone but she is extremely conflicted about what to do with the unexpected changes that are occurring in her life. She is understandably upset about a shocking revelation and she is extremely hurt by a lie of omission. Quinn is charmed by Wildstone but she is quite happy with her life in LA. However, she is torn by a decision she needs to make that will have far reaching implications for many other people. Her unanticpated feelings for Mick add to her confusion, but can Quinn bring herself to give up the man who is responsible for bringing her long dormant emotions (and libido) back to life?

Mick also finds himself standing at an unexpected crossroad.  He is extremely satisfied with his life in San Francisco but he is also quite dismayed to discover his hometown is slowly dying.  As he sorts through the detritus of his dad’s life, Mick is surprised by his new perspective on his childhood and a new understanding of his father.  Despite the fact he was not looking for love, Mick is comfortable with his new relationship with Quinn and he is willing to give her the time and space she needs to figure out her life. However, his patience has limits and their future together is far from certain.

Lost and Found Sisters is a breathtaking journey of healing, new beginnings and love. Jill Shalvis brings the town and its inhabitants vibrantly to life. The characters are incredibly appealing as they navigate their way through the unexpected twists and turns.  I greatly enjoyed and highly recommend this charming first installment in the Wildwood series to fans of the genre.

Less spicy than her usual but not as low key as Women's Fiction, it's a fab start to what sounds like a wonderful series. The highs and lows, triumphs and tragedies (and there are many), all add up to characters you won't forget and a town that while small, feels just like home.

Lost and Found Sisters by Jill Shalvis
    Series: Wildstone, Book 1

4 Stars - I quite enjoyed this story. I was hesitant because there was talk of her writing a different type of book but this was very much a Shalvis book and I wasn't disappointed. Mick and Quinn were great together. I enjoyed watching Quinn work through her new relationship with Tilly. There were some good laughs and some touching moments. I happily recommend this book.

A different take from Jill Shalvis. The romance takes back seat on this one to the relationship between Quinn and her newly discovered sister. An easy read that kept me reading through the night. Plenty of warmth along with family drama and Ms. Shalvis's signature wit.

5 Stars for for a book that gave me giggles, tingles, wiggles and a big wide smile.I adored these characters, I want to move them in next door. Quinn, the woman who lost a part of her soul when her sister died, and her past was scrambled. She was so easy to attach to. She was snarky, emotional, warm, giving and stubborn and she cooked, bonus. Mick, strong, tall, dark, sexy, dedicated, kind, giving, and good to his mom. Yums. Tilly, she was the teenager who had life hit her upside the head. This girl was not the stereotypical teen in most books, she had her drama, her back talking, and defenses in full force but she was also very lovable and unselfish. So many characters from the parents, the catty ex, to the weird old men hanging around gossiping, I loved them all, each were developed just enough never over done. The story was a beautiful love story that dealt with finding the right place in the world. It may not be where you are planning on going. There is a lot of heart felt emotional findings in this and so much fun. Tilly's journal note at the beginning of each chapter always made me laugh. The story touches of some sensitive subjects. Death of a sibling, child abuse, adoption, corruption, all were handled tastefully and resolved.I gave it 5 stars for pure enjoyment I got out of the book. I am planning of re-reading this and listening to it on audio.

What a wonderful book this turned out to be! Jill Shalvis is quickly becoming one of my favorite contemporary romance authors because her books are consistently good. This book was even better than I could have hoped. I was grabbed by the story right away and it just kept getting better. I ended up reading most of the book in a single day because I just couldn't put it down. It was one of those books that left me with a big grin when I reached the conclusion and was an utter delight to read.Quinn is the main focus of this story. She is getting by one day at a time and not really feeling much of anything after the sudden death of her sister. She gets some unexpected news that turns her whole life upside down. She has some really big decisions to make that will have a lasting impact not only on herself but on other people as well. I liked Quinn a lot. She was resilient and cared about other people deeply.Mitch is in Wildstone trying to help his mother get her house in order. His constant companion is an aging Golden Retriever named Coop. Along with Coop, Mitch runs into Quinn when she is having an emotional moment and something just seems to click. They run into each other again later on and just seem to hit it off. Mitch was such a great character and I loved everything about him. He really fit with Quinn very well and they had some wonderful chemistry. The story was really well balanced. This book had a wonderful romance in it but it wasn't just a romance. Quinn had some other things going on that were just as life changing. I really liked that this story was so complex and full. The secondary characters were wonderfully done. There was even a bit of humor that gave the story an element of fun.I would highly recommend this book to others. This was a really great story about love and completely rediscovering yourself. I am really excited that this book is the beginning of a new series because I am already looking forward to spending more time with the people of Wildstone. I received an advance reader edition of this book from William Morrow Paperbacks via Edelweiss.

Loved this one!Lost and Found Sisters is chock-full of wonderful characters--even if at first glance they don't seem all that wonderful ;) Ms. Shalvis does a fantastic job (as usual) of giving us flawed characters and making us love them, warts and all.Quinn's had her life thrown for a loop--she still is very clearly not remotely close to being over her younger sister's death two years earlier, when she finds out that 1) she was adopted 2) her birth mother has just died and 3) she has a younger sister, who up to this point was raised by the mother who gave Quinn away. As much as I loved Quinn's inner (and outer!) snark--Tilly, Mick, and Lena were especially adept at bringing her skills to the fore--I'll admit I wanted her to get over her resentment at her birth mother much quicker than she does, but her inability to do so gave her yet another way that she had to grow, to get over herself and her fears and preconceived ideas so she could get to her own HEA.Tilly, Tilly, Tilly--where do I start with Tilly? I love her and feel Quinn's frustration with her, all at the same time. Oh, that girl--both wise beyond her years, and as young and uncertain as every other fifteen-year-old girl out there. Even though she would have hated it, I just wanted to hug that girl every time she showed up on the page. Well, maybe 50-75% of those times I might have wanted to give her a good shake first...but then a hug, definitely. A good 90% of my highlights in this book--and there are a good many highlights in my digital copy--are from the excerpts of Tilly's journal that start each chapter. OMG, that girl.Mick is a fantastic character, with a scary bug removing prowess that is so important to any true hero. He's almost too perfect here--denying that he feels any pull at all to the hometown he's left in the dust is pretty much his only flaw--but still, I loved him and all the support he gave Quinn along the way.Lena starts the story off as the worst kind of you-know-what, but by the end of the story I was praying that she'd get her own book. Surely she will, yes? And Boomer? Skye? Even Cliff, the HP lookalike lawyer? All worthy of their own books :)The animals in this book, of course, were also all stars in their own way--Coop, Tink, those chickens, heck, even those scary bugs--the story wouldn't be the same without them! Two thumbs way, way, up!In short, I loved my first visit to Wildstone, and absolutely cannot wait until Ms. Shalvis takes me back for another visit. Fingers crossed that it will be soon... ;)Rating: 4 1/2 stars / AI voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Lost and Found Sisters by Jill ShalvisWildstone #1Jill Shalvis is an author that has never let me down. I love her writing style, the characters she creates and the stories she tells. She never lets me down. In this book Quinn, a sous-chef in Los Angeles, seems to have it all and everything going for her. She has a great job, loving parents and a man that would love to marry her. BUT, she really has been going through the motions without moving forward with her life since her sister died two years before the story begins. Little does she know that a stranger she encounters while waiting to order coffee one morning will tell her something that will impact her life in a way that will see her confronting her parents, taking a trip to Wildstone and then dealing with an unexpected inheritance. She will grow, take on responsibilities, find love, make friends and find her way forward in a direction she would never have considered had she not talked to that stranger in the coffee shop. I won’t give away the story line. As the author said in her newsletter, “I have a new book coming out. It’s a bigger book than I’ve written before but don’t worry, it’s still got the Shalvis heat and humor and romance (actually two romances!), PLUS a sister thing.” And, once again the author has created a novel that I could not put down. It left me happy but also eager to find out what will happen next in Wildstone. I loved the epigraphs from Tilly’s journal – they were a delight and hit home in so many ways. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, highly recommend it and would like to thank the author for the ARC shared with me for review purposes. This is my honest review. 5 Stars

Lost and Found Sisters by Jill Shalvis is a 2017 William Morrow Paperbacks publication. Unforgettable characters, whimsical and enchanting! Shalvis out did herself with this one. I’ve sampled several of Shalvis’ series, and I always enjoy any book she writes, but sometimes a book comes along that just hits the spot..Quinn loves L.A., her job as a chef, has loving supportive parents, and a kind of -sort of – boyfriend. But, over the past couple of years, she has only been going through the motions of life, unable to feel anything but a numbed grief. But, a stunning revelation sends her away from big city life, to settle down for a while in the small town of Wildstone. Here, she meets Mick, another temporary transplant, and Tilly, a teenager in need of love and guidance, who has also suffered a deep loss. Could the tiny, offbeat, and slightly supernatural, Wildstone, holds the key to awakening Quinn's long dormant zeal for life?“If it’s got tires or testicles, it’s gonna give you trouble. Wasn’t that the truth…I loved this story right from the beginning. The tone is a little different in this book, which has a paranormal element, and a quirky, almost whimsical quality to it. The trademark humor Shalvis is known for, was at its peak in this book, especially the hilarious musings from Tilly’s journal that precedes each chapter. But, how Shalvis manages to deal with the subject of death with such delicacy, I don’t know. The story could have easily turned maudlin- but Shalvis never let it get too heavy, keeping everything light, with just the right emotional grabs, at just the right moments, for optimal effect, and believe me, it is effective!! The emotional connections between sisters, family, and friends, combined with a sizzling romance, was outstanding!! While JS has combined friendship and family situations into her novels, usually the main focus in on the romance. In this case, the range is broader, and boy does it really pack a punch! Quinn is so depressed after losing her sister, that her pain is a living, breathing thing. It was an amazing and powerful thing to watch her regain her footing, slowly come to life again, with gusto!! Quinn is funny, loyal, and so easy to like. Mick, is also going through things that has him waffling about his role in Wildstone, and the romance often has a question mark at the end, but it is a very fun, tender and sweet relationship.Lena, Mick’s former girlfriend, was also a real pill, but despite everything I liked her and liked the way Quinn handled the situation. Maybe someday she’ll get her own story. Tilly- well, she almost stole the show a few times and it was obvious, she and Quinn is cut from the same cloth. There was another character present, whose loving spirit chimed in on occasion, which was very funny at times, but sweet and touching, as well. To add the icing on the cake, there are also a couple of adorable pets featured, making this story darned near perfect. Jill Shalvis always writes lovely romantic stories, tinged with humor and heartfelt emotions, but this story really melted my troubled heart and reminded me of why these stories are so important, why we need them, and the positive way they influence, uplift and enrich our lives. 5 big stars!!
