About this audiobook
This is my story.
In this thrilling installment in the John Wayne Cleaver series, Dan Wells brings his beloved antihero into a final confrontation with the Withered. Nothing Left to Lose is a conclusion that is both completely compelling and completely unexpected.

- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5“Stop thinking with your concealed carry permits. Not everyone is evil.”“That doesn’t mean everyone’s good,” I said.“Obviously not,” she said. “But it does mean that everyone’s worth saving.”“That I’ll agree with,” I said, and looked back at the news article. Saving people was the whole reason I was here.Nothing Left to Lose is the final installment in the John Cleaver series. I'm particularly fond of monster hunter and FBI/crime novels, so rolling them all into one neat little packaged series has been a big hit.Following an unfortunate start, John became a teenage monster hunter; both working for and running from the FBI at various stages. You can say they have a complicated relationship. In Nothing Left to Lose he’s on his own for the first time, once again hunting the Withered. It’s an interesting to see John take all of what he’s learned, and all he’s taught himself, and hunt down Withered while also trying to keep himself off the FBIs radar. Readers not only see John battle with Withered, but he still has the same internal struggle from the first book; he’s NOT a serial killer, but he still has urges that makes him feel like a monster himself. That aspect of his character shined in this book and played out well with the plot.I do wish that there was more action, but this book revolved more around mystery and conclusions than full out battles (though it still has a fair share of those as well). Overall, Nothing Left to Lose was was a nice conclusion to a great series.
